A major red flag was when I realized she didn't even know how to properly fill out a fee waiver--I actually ended up teaching her a trick she didn't know. I initially hired her because I needed to get an answer in quickly for a UD case. She assured me that trial would be scheduled weeks later, only for me to find out that was completely false. Instead of the 4-6 weeks she claimed, trial was set just two weeks later. When I confronted her about this, she gave me a weak apology and excused it by saying she "can't control the court's decision." While that may be true, she clearly told me what I wanted to hear just to get my business. That's the cold, hard truth--she was deceptive, and I wouldn't recommend her services. Because also, I lost my case due to the weak answer to the UD that she provided. The attorney on the other side striked all of my defenses leaving me with not a lot to defend myself with.
