We are the buyers referred to in the review from March 13, 2026 and wanted to clarify a few things. We are extremely satisfied with the service provided by ProCare to us as the clients. High mold spore levels were indeed found in a specific area of the basement at the property in question and we are thankful for ProCare's diligence and professionalism in that inspection process. Also, ProCare's methods and tools do not measure in percentages so that is an inaccurate statement in the March 13th review. We feel strongly about correcting the record on all of this. If you are a person who is concerned about hard-to-find mold issues, we highly recommend ProCare. ProCare is known for getting to the bottom of complex mold/moisture situations which can hugely impact health. They helped us a few years back with our previous home which had a serious mold issue in the basement and friends of ours have used their services successfully as well. read more

ProCare was hired by the buyers of my father's house prior to closing. The report stated their InstaScope found a reading of 40% mold in the air in an area of the basemen. There was no visible mold or odor. The buyers backed out and to prove to future buyers there was no mold we at great expense had to walls removed by a mold remediation company. On July 24th, 2018 I had a mold test conducted on two units of a duplex that I had just recently purchased; Dean, the owner and CEO of ProCare, was the employee who conducted these tests. One of the key factors for hiring ProCare for the mold inspection and paying the premium price of $898.00 for a mold test on my newly purchased duplex was due to the seemingly good reviews about ProCare; sadly, my experience has been anything but pleasant! A high-level breakdown of my experience and the root cause of this complaint is as follows: On the 24th, Dean Mahlstedt, owner and CEO of ProCare Services, came to my property to perform a mold test with a piece of equipment called an instascope; I was told that ProCare is one of the only companies in the Midwest to have this equipment, and that the benefits to using this type of test, albeit very high priced, is that it is a non-intrusive test that supposedly (I never received my final reports) generates very detailed results, as well as containing an analysis of the results and metrics used. Dean's, and ultimately ProCare Services, overall presentation of the business's expertise during the multi-hour test was respectable; unfortunately, as aforementioned, this pleasant presentation was short lived since I never received the final product that I paid $898.00 for... As of today, October 9th, 2018, I have yet to have receive my final reports from Dean, nor have I been paid the courtesy of having my several phone calls, emails, and text messages returned. This is not how a business should be operated! To make my self very clear, I will be pursing a full refund for a product that I actually never received; if a refund is not promptly returned to me I will be pursuing this misrepresentation in another fashion and will be compensated for all additional expenses that follow. I am beyond disappointed in ProCare and will make an active effort to inform others of their services. To sum this up for those who may be considering using ProCare: DO NOT DO IT! If you have money to wasted and you like being ripped off, then ProCare might be the company for you. read more
