I waited no more then 15 minutes on each visit to be seen, I was greeted by Kristen W who went over my x rays talked to me about what's going on and they seen that I had herniated disk and joint disease. From April to October my they have been monitoring me and noticed that it was getting worse They recommend surgery but wanted my A1c to be down to a 7, they were understanding and gave me time. I came back in December when I was at a 7 spoke to Doctor Hillary O who will be my surgeon, he said that my back is really really bad and he said he doesn't want to scare me but we need to fix this and he will help me. All of the staff has put me at ease from the moment I was worried to terribly frightened, answered all of my questions to the best of there knowledge and I can say January 3rd, 2024 I will be going in for a multi lumber spinal surgery.

I had a minor stroke a while back, so I try to keep an eye on it. They wanted to admit me, but I had to be home to feed my mother and my cats, so I chose to go back home. After I fed my mother and my cats, I was eating when the phone rang. I answered it, and it was a Doctor from John Dempsey Medical Center (UConn). He told me that the results came back from the bloodwork tests, which showed many abnormalities. He told me to return immediately to the hospital as I was having an "acute kidney failure" that could, along with the high blood pressure, cause a major heart attack. He said I needed to be admitted as soon as possible. As soon as I finished my supper, I hopped into the car and drove back to the hospital, and signed in again. The blood pressure was up over 200 again, so I waited in the waiting room until they could find a bed. I have very bad discs in my lower back. I have passed out from the pain because of them. After more than an hour passed, my back was acting up. I had no choice but to ask when the bed would be available. I was told it would be over 3 hours. I told the lady in the ER that I could not sit up for that length of time because of my back discs. She told me that there are no beds or gurneys available in the entire hospital that I could use while I waited. She told me that if I didn't like it, I could always go home. That is what I did. If I passed out from the pain from my discs, they would have let me stay on the floor for over 3 hours until they found a bed. That is completely unacceptable and unprofessional for any medical facility. John Dempsey is supposed to be a crown jewel as far as medical facilities here in Connecticut, but I found it to be a lump of coal. Needless to write, I won't be going back again. I advise others to find a better place.

Despite being in serious pain or having serious conditions u wait for months for an appointment. Then many times I have experienced the provider cancelling my appointment with no follow up. Very poor and disappointing. Patient Relations I called 3 times and no call back. Pretty bad for 2025.

However they do accept Connecticare patients who do not have the insurance thru the exchange. Even the receptionist was apologetic. I had the option of paying $250 for a visit which I declined since I do have insurance. She wrote out the names of other places I could go to get looked at. I just drove home feeling humiliated and embarrassed. I contacted the State insurance department to ask if this was legal? Sounds suspicious to me.

God forbid you have people at each center who can take care of your profit sources, I mean, patients.
