Passing through I always look for something different and that stands out from all the usual fast food or chain restaurants. First look at this place was awesome!! So...... get seated. Wait about 8-minutes for someone to take our drink order. We decided to send our order in because we knew something was wrong. The menu has mouthwatering descriptions of all their food making it hard to decide on what to get. Got our drinks about 10-minutes after ordering. At this point the waitress came and apologized for the delay. "We are short handed". I get it..... food came out 45-minutes after ordering. (Also have to point out we counted four-tables of customers that got up and left because of no service) Presentation looked decent. Until..... we opened our sandwiches, not as described on the menu. My Jailbird was far from having thin sliced turkey piled high. It had one thick slice about 1/4". Fries-cold. Also had the Verdict. Brisket was gray in color. Whole sandwich was cold. Potato salad had to have been sitting out a while. For two sandwiches that are $17 each...no way! I went to restroom and passed the kitchen. All I heard was yelling and screaming at each other. They should have just told people before seating them that things were going to be very slow. read more

If I'm paying $20 for a Cobb salad it should be more then just a bunch of lettuce, five pieces of blue cheese crumbles, one egg and less the a piece of bacon. Maybe just stick to their beer, not sure how good that is but hopefully better than their food. Edit: just had a $4.99 Cobb salad from WinCo that was 100x better lol read more

So excited to try this place and unfortunately it was not that great. Service was very slow. Had to ask server multiple times for items and the check. Food was ok. We got the meat plate, brisket was good but shredded beef was dry, potato's in the potato salad were hard, their fries was the only thing that was really good. Turkey sandwich was ok. Beers on tap and we got 2 flights was just ok but the Chango Malo was delicious if you love coconut. read more

Nice and hip lil place with art on the wall.. interesting art... pursearingnis available, high tables available, I didn't see any booth seatings( I was enjoying the company) .. I think the music was ok..lol. menu was sorta limited.. served on "prison trays" .. portion was decent ... a bit on the pricey side for size and for three extremely long wait for our food.. it was well over 40 minutes... otherwise a cute place to have a drink and chat.. imho read more

I've been there twice. Both times I liked the beers a lot. They have interesting taps like a peanut butter and jelly sour or a ginger bread ale that were better than I would have guessed and were fun to try regardless. Plus they have your more conventional pilsners and IPAs that were good. For food I've tried their fried chicken sandwich and their tri-tip sandwich. I found both to be just ok. I do like their fries - they're an interesting style I haven't seen elsewhere. Service was good, ambiance was a typical brewery vibe. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and wasn't especially crowded around lunchtime. read more

First time here... I think they were short staffed on a Sunday afternoon because it took us over 30 mins (minimum) to get a waiter over just to get our drink order (and let's not talk about refills). And then there was a significant wait to order food and to get it. It's not like they were super busy or anything. From being in customer service believe me I know. You know when you start to think maybe I should order everything when the waiter gets back so I don't have to wait. Go with your gut. The inside area for seating is nice and so was the outside which is where we sat. Very nice. The food was on a scale from 1-5 a 4. It was good but after waiting so long and all the other it ms listed it did not make up for the wait. There is quite a beer selection as well as specialty drinks which was as well nice. The only reason I give it two stars is because the beer was decent. I had the verdict sandwich. It had three small pieces of brisket. The whole thing was painted with mustard to the point that there was no other flavor and the bread turned into a mustard sponge. Absolutely one of the worst sandwiches I've been served. When the staff came to collect the plate they saw the sandwich was fully there. No comment. They know their food is subpar. Only thing I would call edible was the side salad. Even the chips were overdone. The hostess spent the whole time sitting at the bar. The Brewer knows what they are doing, most of the front of the house staff was great. Came in to prison hill tonight to have dinner with my wife and son. We sat in the bar area which had a nice atmosphere and the beer list was both on the wall and the QR code on the table. The bartender Julie was friendly and very knowledgeable on their house beers. This was our first time at the brewery and she helped us navigate both the beer list and food menu. Now onto the food! We started with the fried olives and stuffed mushrooms. They were both very tasty!! My wife loved the olives! For our entrees we had the brisket bowl and common criminal which were also very good! Just a fun and inviting Brew Pub with great food, beer, margaritas and great service. The Halfway House Salad is a smaller version of their Big House Salad and is super fresh and crispy with big cucumber chunks and lively veggies. We then opted to split the Veggie Burger featuring their black bean patty but the bonus was, you choose how to dress it from a great variety of burger versions (i.e. "What's your Poblano" with poblano peppers and pepper & pepper jack cheese, the Smash double patty burger, etc.) or our choosing of their Drunk Tank with grilled onions & mushrooms with Swiss cheese on a brioche bun. We selected the Sidewinder Fries and honestly had never seen anything like these swirl-cut babies. Yummy! Now for their beer: Stolen Dreams IPA checked in at 7% alc and about 60 IBU was very refreshing and not over the top. Didn't try the Jailbait Blonde but was certainly intrigued. However the showstopper was their incredible Chango Malo stout with strong hints chocolate and coffee and a fading whisper of coconut. I noticed a touch of cinnamon but wifey disagreed. Either way, it was so good, we took a 32-oz crowler with us to go that was freshly canned on site. Me and my girlfriend came to Prison Hill to celebrate our 1 year anniversary cause that where we came officially boyfriend and girlfriend, well we walked in around 7 and was told the kitchen was closed but they close at 9 or 10 and if we wanted to stay for drinks instead. No!!!!! We went there to have dinner and now we had to think of somewhere else to go and almost ruined our night. Only good thing about this place is the friendly service, but not timely. We went on a slow Sunday night and only ordered a cold cut sandwich and fries. It took about 35 mins to get to the table and the fries were cold. Their beer is okay, their beer menu is disorganized and half of there in-house beers were not given a style. Decided to try it on Saturday Nov. 01 for a couple of beers before Tom Petty cover band at the venue a couple of doors down. Worst bartender in my history. Rude and defensive. Complaining to her co-workers about being over worked. Co-workers behind the bar never acknowledged our existence. It seemed that they were all just interested in hanging out with the 'regulars' and we were a bother. It was a nice cheesy gooey sliced steak sandwich with grilled poblano peppers and onions. I had a nice Prison Hill Pilsner which was delicious as well. This was my first time visiting Prison Hill Brewing, and we were greeted cheerfully the moment we stepped into the restaurant. We were seated and our drink order taken and brought to the table immediately. Our waitress was Raeann, and she was friendly and answered our questions about the menu. Food was served promptly and was delicious. I had the BLT with chips and this sandwich was loaded with bacon, fresh lettuce and fresh tomato slices. Great service, low key atmosphere with no loud, jarring music and great tasting food. We will be back and encourage others to enjoy this eatery! read more

Great place to stop in Yuma. We did the Prison Museum and figured we would stick with the theme. It had a good basic kid's menu and a huge adult menu. We had pulled pork sandwiches and the fries were a hit. Absolute best was the fried avocado. Really liked the service. She was so nice and checked in on us often. Cool local art on the wall and the open brewery was pretty cool too. We will go back if ever in Yuma again. read more
