However, after spending approximately 45 minutes to an hour in the store selecting the appropriate paper and creating a print template, I was only then informed that printing would take an additional hour due to a backlog. While I understand delays happen, this information was not communicated upfront, despite knowing I intended to print. That lack of transparency was frustrating. The situation escalated when I spoke with the manager, Myaowa, to ask whether another Staples location (the 86th Street store) could accommodate my laser paper. I did not ask for expedited service--only whether the other store could be contacted. I was given conflicting information about whether my paper could be used, and the associate and manager discussed the situation as though I were not present, which felt unprofessional. Ultimately, the manager stated he could not contact another Staples location because the stores are franchises that compete with one another. This explanation was surprising and did not align with expectations of a national retail brand. My concern is not with the initial associate, who performed well, but with the lack of clear communication, inconsistent information, and how the situation was handled by management. I wandered around a bit more and found the REAL entrance, located at 520 8th Avenue. I went to check in at the security desk as required, and was turned away by the security guard because apparently, they are appointment-only. That seems odd for a supposedly 24 hour establishment. I did not see this on the website, nor was it mentioned in their phone message. Long story short, wasted so much time going to this place, trying to get in, trying to get a hold of them, trying to get past security, and with nothing to show for it.
