What a great find! My laser printer was expensive when I purchased it 5-6 years ago, and I was told it was worth looking at getting it repaired, rather than purchasing new. So glad I did. Jimmy is knowledgable, kind, efficient and helpful. He's been in the same building working on printers for thirty years! Three of the toner cartridges had leaked. He cleaned it up, replaced some other part, and even went to the store for me, purchased the toner and supplies I needed and offered to bring my printer to my place, because it's so heavy! (I didn't need that, but it was much appreciated.) Turn around two days, all other places I checked, the turnaround was a week or more. I highly recommend him, he's the best. My wife and I took my Epson XP-830 Printer/Scanner/Fax/Photo printer on May 25th 2021 to Jimmy at Printer Tek hoping that he could help us getting to work again. I found this business on Yelp. I was looking for someone to fix my HP X576. This machine was 6 years old, Heavy usage in an office envvironment. Never been services. Then it stopped. The ink elevator jammed up. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on an old printer, but decided to get a quote. Printertek charged less than a full ink replacement. I brought my Brother laser printer in due to missing lines on the entire page. Was contacted one hour later to advise the failure of a part and could be replaced for a very fair price. I was given a choice to use original or after market part. I have my approval and two hours later the unit was ready to be picked up. My printer got jammed with a lot of paper accidentally and I dropped off my printer for them expecting to not get it back till maybe another 1-2 days .I was very happy that they were able to fix my printer so quickly. My old ass reliable brother printer stopped being so reliable one day. And I feared for the worst. I didn't want to buy a new printer. I wanted my lo tech printer to just PRINT. Wow. This morning I figured out that it wasn't just a paper jam with my Epson. (I had tried about eight times on my own by clearing every path a couple of times and and mangling a lot of paper.) I checked the local Staples - nope. They don't fix printers and for me to find an Epson printer repair. I searched and Printer Tek came to my rescue. I dragged the huge thing over. Jimmy carried it in, told me I could have it evaluated for free, and that it would probably be one of two problems. He called a couple of hours later. Something inside had slipped and he was able to realign it for me. This felt like instantaneous service! While I won't say that everyone's experience will be same-day like mine was - I was lucky he didn't need to order a part - but I was thrilled. And he carried the behemoth back out to my car for me. I made a call to Printer Tek to get a quota. I told Loc about my printer problems and instead of helping me with the printer he insisted i get a new one. That's because my printer is too old, and said he doesn't want to take my money for a unnecessary repair. Even told me that i will continue to have problems so the better option for me is to just get a new one. There weren't many places in LA that would repair a small Brother laser printer. The ones that did tried to discourage me from fixing it & tried to sell me a new printer, or else try to sell me one of their used printers. Loc @ Printer Tek was different. I explained the problem over the phone & he quickly told me a few of the things he thought were wrong & gave me a price quote over the phone. Loc ended up having to order one part, but still repaired my printer in a few days honoring his original quote. I found this place on yelp. It has early hours and very close to my house. I brought my printer in at 3 PM and got it at 5 PM the same day. My printer needs to be cleaned and the feeder(?) was not working right. Now it's working like brand new. Jimmy answers his phone and will contact you promptly when your printer is ready to be picked up. I highly recommend this place if you need your printer cleaned and/or repaired. Don't be put off by the boxes in the small store. Their willingness to even look at my 25 year old work horse of a printer a Hewlett Packard LaserJet 6L put them in a different category. He looked at my printer no charge and even cleaned the rollers. I will see how that helps my problem but said bring it back and he'll try to find the part needed. I also feel good reading other reviews that if my newest printer fails I will take it to them as well. Great good old customer service which is a specialty now a days. read more

I recommend Jimmy at this company for printer repair as he is extremely knowledgeable and honest. I simply called him to find out if I had a repairable printer problem because my photo paper was always jamming (HP OfficeJet Pro 8725). He said it was typical of that product (HP Inkjet) with standard heavyweight photo paper (which I purchased at Costco), and advised me to get a lighter weight photo paper to eliminate the jamming. He said the office supply stores, like Staples, or Office Depot carry this paper. He said another reason it jams is the glossy finish on one side makes it difficult for the rollers to gain traction to push it thru the tight bends in the path. Less glossy would be better, which is also available at the office supply stores. Jimmy saved me a lot of time and money and he did it for no personal gain. I can assure you that I will use Printer Tek whenever I have a fixable problem in the future. read more

I have seldom seen customer service this good!! Today is Super Bowl Sunday, and day 8 of the tax preparation season. My high speed printer, an HP 476, got a label jammed in the rollers, and it is now essentially dead. I have clients coming this evening and no fast printer to print tax returns. I called two nearby repair companies to make an appointment for Monday. After reading the reviews in Yelp for Printer Tek I called Printer Tek (17 miles away) -- Lo and Behold!! Loc answered the phone. I explained the situation, he was at home but told me to meet him in 45 minutes with the printer -- again this is SuperBowl Sunday with the Rams playing. I arrive with the printer, and he immediately starts to work on the darn thing. He removed the label, cleaned the entire machine and gave it back to me in about an hour. This guy is tremendous!! No hesitation to help me, even on a Sunday. His fee was half of I I would have paid on a regular work day!
