A great health store! This place is well worth a visit if you are interested in organic, vegetarian…read moreor vegan food. Fresh vegetables, tea, juice and baked goods can also be found here, and when you add everything else you find in common health store you all of a sudden got yourself a new favorite place. Røtter offers products from Pukka, Teapigs and Helios just to mention some. A personal favorite is Epleslang, a local apple juice. It comes in a beautiful packaging and the taste is great.
I've never reviewed Røtter?!?!?! Thanks Yelp for filling me in on this…read more I am at Røtter at least 2-3 times a week. Sometimes more. Never less. This IS my shop in Oslo. I'm not a huge fan of the Life stores or Helios, and part of the reason is the Røtter has EVERYTHING I need, and more. Upon moving to Norway, I had to drastically change my diet (I lived in Bergen). I couldn't find ANYTHING. And I had no job, so I couldn't have afforded it if the availability was there. Then I moved to Oslo. Oslo is still very behind in terms of food offerings, but it is lightyears ahead of Bergen. And fortunately for me, Røtter was here. Røtter takes requests and is always up on the latest products and trying their best to get them in the shop. Being American, they are constantly asking me for products I miss from the States (a lot of their customers are American) and looking for feedback. And they always give me updates on what they are getting in if they are grabbing ideas from the US. This makes me know that they care about the business and their customers. The shop itself is super inviting and cozy. I could spend hours perusing the place. The staff knows what they are talking about and has a passion for the products they sell. They are constantly receiving new products in, which keeps me going back (even though I spent thousands of $$ on stuff recently in the US and hauled it back with me). There is not much else I can say about this place except for the fact that it is incredible and will surely remain one of my Oslo highlights for a LONG, LONG time.

The personnel is also super friendly and is worthwhile chatting with them about food and healthy eating. Highly recommended for all food lovers in Oslo!

Small organic store that basically has 3 main brands (Weleda, Logona and Earth Line, a dead sea…read moresald based range ) and some less known brands of soaps and balms. I founded it pretty expensive and there is not much choice, but the shop is nice and the sale clerk is very nice and helpful. They don't accept foreign credit cards which is a pity considering the price you'll have to pay (300 NOK, i.e. almost 50 € for just a deodorant and a hand balm).
Ahhhh I love it! So happy I found a place like this :) I won't go into details on Yelp as to why we…read moreshould all be buying and using chemical free products, but I will say that this place can help you. Ever since I left the States I have had a hard time finding reasonably priced products and of good quality. Frelse has it all. Everything is paraben, sulphate and ammonium free. Along with all those other horrible chemicals we find in everyday products. The lady that works there is phenomenal. I don't think she could have been any happier or loved her job more. I told her what I needed and she came with a few different options all with different price ranges. She had a wide range of different brands which I appreciated and I am hoping that I could drop some hints to a couple more I would love to see in Oslo, but for now I am very happy. I will be back here when my products start to run low. I love small local gems like this :)

Yah! I love love love it when a new health food store opens up in Oslo. They have a great selection…read moreof RAW chocolate covered raisins, goji berries and mulberries. WARNING these are addictive. I ate an entire bag in one sitting. Oops. I also bought Acai powder which I was very happy about because its about time I start making acai bowls this summer. They also carry spirulina, amla and wheat grass for smoothies and juices. As well as an eco and chemical free makeup line. The girl behind the counter (Kalli) is adorable. She was so friendly and behind fun. I would go there just talk to her. The interior is adorable. A lot of love and creativity went into it and I appreciate every detail. I will be coming back again and again. Supporting local stores is the best :)
