There is both a children's section and adult section, so there is something here for everyone! There are also computer stations for individuals to use during their time at the library. Another thing I love about the Huntingburg Public Library is all of the programs it offers to kids in the community! They have maintained an outstanding "summer reading" program for years, which is a great way to keep kiddos reading during their break from school! The staff is great and so helpful! Back in the day libraries were a place you were told to be quiet and respectful of others. The staff here must be incapable of using their inside voices. They talk at loud levels amongst each other, to patrons and when on the phone. This building carries sound that travels to me wherever I am in the library that detracts from my work, but I still give it 5 stars solely for the fact that it's here, and I'd rather have it than not!

Wow! The Willard Library is Indiana's OLDEST library, and it's everything it lives up to be for an…read moreold, creaky library. It's quiet and filled with ghost stories of the old Grey Lady. There are even ghost cams in the library that can be viewed online 24/7. We only knew about these stories after we visited, but it's a big part of the Willard Library story. It's a gorgeous 19th-century building that is on the national registry of historic places. The woodwork and staircase are detailed, and if you are into history and architecture, you'll enjoy a visit here. The 2nd level is devoted entirely to genealogy. Willard was a well-known abolitionist and his collection of anti-slavery books are featured in a bookcase on the stairwell.

Extensive water damage has closed the Southern location till at least June 2024 so here I was looking for kids' North Dakota books for a school report. Not only did I find an extensive amount of books for my son, I got him some graphic novels, some launchpads, some free seeds from the seed library and a free subscription to the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. I was also intrigued by the library of mysterious things upstairs. The ambience was clean, well thought out, and the staff was superb. I will be back without hesitation. I heard there is a drive-through to drop stuff off for parents with young kids. I have noticed there were a ton of parents and small children there for various groups. Looks promising!

Personally when I go to a library I prefer to look for a nook/cranny that I can snuggle up in with my books and laptop. This library does not really offer that. It has some tables to sit at, but each floor is just one giant room, and the sound from the other side of the library can carry all the way over to you. The children's area is not separated from the rest of the library, which I think was a mistake. Aside from my personal preferences, this is a beautiful, up to date library that is a great asset to Daviess County and surrounding counties.

It's so nice to be able to grab something that may not be on the streaming sites, and have 5-7 days to watch/listen to it! I like the access to the computers at the end of every couple aisles. This is where you can find the availability of something. I have to say I have struggled with the system of finding books here, with the numbers and letters, but once you learn it it is easy. They have everything you want plus things you never even heard of or thought you'd find. There are little pockets that have tables/chairs to read or study in, most the time there will be a few open but after school hours tends to be busy. The parking lot is big and has two entrances/exits making it not too cramped. They have events in the little space outside which is nice in the summer!
