Addressing the idiot that posted previously about this school I hope she was talking about the…read moreLondon campus. Regardless, the reason the London campus isn't that amazing is because the area might make it seem dreary. It is located in an urban setting outside of London city where oxford circus might be. You have to take into consideration that the professors have to go outside of their way to come to school and teach while maintaining their own jobs. Yes they have bad days, and yes they may have seem to have an "attitude". But in a school geared toward fashion and business, you have to keep a backbone and marangoni makes it that much stronger. Domenico Dolce did in fact graduate from the Milan campus so get your facts straight. I am defending my school. Lindsey, with an attitude like yours, you won't go far in life at all. You knew what you were getting into just by seeing how pricey the school is. Go back to FIDM where you belong....i hope you have during the last time you reviewed this school.....far away from marangoni. Lindsey you probably wouldn't even get into parsons or SM. Back to the school.....among it's achievements....it has designed the mercedes glk.....it has two other campuses in Milan and Paris who are in fact known worldwide as one of the top design schools in Europe. It is a private institution therefor it is pricey. Rewards are great. Teachers come from all over the world and have jobs among some of the most noted designers in history and have went to some of the best colleges in the world. The students and "teachers" are opinionated but for good reason. Obviously because of high standards. Most students come from wealthy backgrounds. I attend school at the paris campus and find it elegant, refined, ahead of it's time, and the environment is perfect. We know fashion....we live it....breathe it, and piss it. We are "bitches". But at the end of the day, we put aside bitchiness in order to make good design and money. Say what you will about the arrogance and the price of tuition. We're here to design. And we are damn good at it. If you want to jump on our boat.....you better not get sea-sick easily.

It was essential in helping him hone his creative skillset and cultivate new skills as an artist. I know another young artist who attended this school who had a very similar experience. Julia is incredibly intuitive and talented when it comes to teaching and guiding students to get them to make art, and to help them define and elevate their work. The other teachers are all wonderful and also extremely adept in their field. My son attended London Art Portfolio in 2020 and through the guidance of Julia and her team, got accepted into two top art colleges in London for fashion design. He then attended London Art Portfolio in 2023 and created another phenomenal portfolio. He received the Presidential Scholarship from Pratt Institute and a large scholarship from Parson's School of Design. He could not have done this without attending London Art Portfolio. We are both eternally grateful to Julia and her team: for their talent, guidance, support and knowledge. Elliot has always been creative, but it wasn't until he started at London Art Portfolio, that he started to define his skillset, style, direction and path. His confidence as an artist grew exponentially while attending the London Art Portfolio. This school is a gem and I cannot recommend it enough.

Stopping to wonder whether it was a commissioned piece he was doing, I discovered that he was actually a painter, rather than a graffiti artist and furthermore, that he had a show exhibiting in a gallery right next to us. The signal gallery is a tiny, single-roomed space with exposed brickwork that looks more like one of the local fashion showrooms than an art gallery. It therefore gives work that exhibits a there an edgier feel than they might have had if they were in your usual pristine white box. Not to say that the work I saw there wasn't edgy enough. It was a shown called echoes and exorcisms, by Dale Grimshaw (the name of the man I learnt was painting outside). It was a series of unintentionally autobiographical works (hence why all of the paintings looked faintly like him) mainly in black and white, with decidedly eerie-looking reflections, aggressive paint splashes and deep contrasting shadows. The story was one of a lot of pain and internal turmoil, and his next show, Heart in Darkness promises to carry on that theme.

I can't fault them for trying to get more into the street art side of things. I mean who isn't…read moretrying to get into that these days, but what always drives me barmy, is, as with the gang over at the Pure Evil Gallery, they charge West London prices for these things, when you can get better value in the area elsewhere. They have interesting shows and it's definitely worth being on the mailing list and going to previews, but as with the aforementioned galleries, I look forward to breaking that mold and making my first purchase.
