Great place! It's located on a corner, no parking but plenty of street parking. The employees are so knowledgeable and friendly. The hookah is pretty inexpensive, I believe $20 or so. The spot is lined with plastic covers so it blocks out of the wind since majority of the seating is on a deck. There is inside seating as well but I found outside to be more cozy. They have a huge selection of teas, hookah flavors and even a food selection. Definitely one of my favorite spots I've been to in SoCal.

Formerly known as "Egyptian Tea Room" (which you can see on some of the parking for our customers only signs) .. Prince is really a great Hookah joint. A lot of places don't know how to pack the bowls and the hookah can get ashy and lose flavor or get HOT quickly. Thankfully, you won't have to endure that here. Your hookah can last a good hour + easy. A good tip is to do mixtures of flavors - instead of picking one flavor add a mint to it to give it some more pop. Or best yet ask for suggestions from the staff on good combos. You can't go wrong with a pot of their tea (multiple flavors) and I think you get a free tea with your first check in (YELP PERK!) Also they have some food and I'm not ashamed to admit their burger is good... Also some of their other items are tasty too. I don't always find a joint that can do food + hookah + tea and rate 5 on them. Granted, it's not GORMET food but you also aren't paying GORMET prices and you're there to smoke hookah. I have no idea why my phone is caps on the GORMET. Seating is outdoors or indoors... Very nice ambiance. Very friendly staff... They may even smoke hookah in the table next to you as well! I drive about 40 minutes to smoke hookah here even when there are other joints closer. That should be my endorsement on it!!

The hookah very very fresh... it's a place to defiantly to come and hang out with friend and have a nice time! Music was on point. I was very happy with everything! This is my new hookah spot! I love how lively this hookah lounge is. There's always people playing dominos, cards and enjoying the vibe. As I walk into the shop there a counter where I can order hookah, non alcoholic drinks, smoothies and food. They have a tab open so I can pay my bill at the end. The food here is actually very good. They are very efficient with changing the coals and keep the hookah running smoothly. All the employees here are super friendly and love to help the customers. I recommend the Irish white peach flavor. Try their beef shawarma sandwich it was delicious. read more

Found out about this place by word of mouth. They have a new menu and I was dying to try Shakshuka. Was warmly greeted when entering, and so many tables to choose from outside and inside. They quickly took my order and my food came out freshly made as I waited. Love Shakshuka so much, I had it last year for the first time in Los Angeles. And this place made it so tasty. Their hummus was probably the best I have ever had and I am not exaggerating. They allowed me to sample a falafel which was so delicious and crispy on the outside and middle was just right. They mentioned many other speciality foods that aren't on the menu yet that are served for dinner and other parties. Can't wait to return and try some more delectable goodies. read more

My workplace catered food from this place, and my tastebuds immediately took me back to the middle east. The hummus was made perfectly, and the falafel was so green on in the inside just as it should be. Even the foul Fava beans were done right, it was really good. How is this place open? They practice no social distancing at all. The patio was packed to pre Covid days. They also let their patrons throw trash in the surrounding bushes and sidewalks. Coke cans and straw wrappers are all over their bushes that line their property. Disgusting read more

I usually go here when I want a quiet place to hang out. They have an indoor room, outdoor patio and also upstairs. Upstairs is only open when there's a lot of people at the place so don't get too excited. The hookah is okay priced. I feel like it is a bit expensive but the new place looks great so hopefully they make the prices lower once they pay off the bills for the construction. Brightly lite now, could be a bit more dim. The employees are so nice. I've been going there for a while so they know and are always nice to me whenever I do ask a question or ask for something. One of my main hookah hang outs :) read more

Nassir has a fabulous spot here! Love coming in early to hang by myself or later to smoke with friends. Love the atmosphere and everyone who works here is amazing. ALAA is my favorite! This place is a def must. It's a cozy cafe/hookah lounge located on college avenue. The staff was all pretty friendly and the chi tea latte was one for the books! It opens at 3pm on the weekends and offers happy hour! The outside area looked great (fire pit) and the TVs were a hit when the chargers game came on. read more

Giving them some sort of stars because Customer Service is actually great. This was my first time going there (12/21/15) and I used the $17 groupon. seemed like a good deal to me because I was saving money on hookah, drinks and an appetizer. We got the flavor Skittles, it was dry and did not have any flavor really. It burned out in like 10 minutes so we could barely smoke it anymore without coughing and it tasting bad. The chicken tenders we had were kind of off tasting (wont be getting them again). My chai tea latte was on point though, i'd come back for that and the pita bread! their happy hour is great for how long the hookah lasts for before getting burnt. May come back if I am trying to save money or want their pita and chai. read more

It's ok, I ordered mint hookah and got grape mint. He took it back and brought the same grape mint again . Any who issue was fixed it's an OK place but I wouldn't go back there. Also it's cheap and affordable, if you don't want to pay too much for hookah but smoke shitty hookah this is the joint! read more

The lady at the front was super nice, it was mainly men there the night me & a friend went. The hookah was good but there was no music, wouldn't recommend. I went off reviews on google but was a bit disappointed that all you can hear is the loud men talking. read more

I've been to just about every hookah spot in San Diego. This is one of my go to's because I like to study when I smoke and they keep the volume down. The staff always treated me very nicely. I do miss the old open Mic nights and the top floor being open, but still a good spot. Occasionally get a college cutie or two coming to relax since it's down street from SDSU read more

Great little spot with a cute patio! The owner made us feel very welcome since it was our first time. If you're going just for hookah, I would definitely try the food out too. It was great!!! Full of flavor. I ordered hummus with chicken shawarma on top and my friend ordered the shawarma wraps. They tasted amazing. Also the owner is really good at preparing the hookah. This place is definitely a 5 Star! The atmosphere is very chill, which is what I love the most. As an SDSU student this is definitely my number one go to place to do some studying or get my mind off of studies; it's very close and just a perfect environment overall. They have great hookahs and very delicious food. The service is by far the best I've ever had. They're all great, but I especially want to recognize Laura, who gives amazing customer service and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone's needs are taken care of; even when it's full house. read more

My friends and I just left. The moment we arrived we were not met with any form of greeting. They saw us arrive and sit down. We sat down for a good five minutes and weren't atended to. I had to go up and ask them for a menu and the guy said to give him a moment while he went to the kitchen. We were left waiting once again until the guy came back with some menus and handed it over with an unfriendly attitude. When we sat back down to look through the menus they left us unattended. I had to get up once again and ask them if they could take our order. We gave them our order but they clearly didn't care since they were taking their time when the hookah was virtually empty. So we decided to cancel the order (nothing was ready yet so It was a good time to cancel it) and the blonde girl roll her eyes on me. I don't know what happened to this place. It's been a year since the last time I was here. It was such a cozy and welcoming environment. Now these two people that are working right here completely ruined the environment. read more

There was a line for the ladies, no line for the men's so we decided the men's stall was the best option, after just watching 2 women leaving the stall. As we were waiting, a security guard decided he needed to use the restroom, cool we let him go ahead. He came out of the stall and said we need to wait till he cleans it. We waited, then after awhile she just went ahead and used it. The guard at the door felt a way because she used it, decided he wanted to kick us out of your establishment. When she came out we went back to the section, they called backup so it was a female officer and about 2/3 others that came over hostile for absolutely no reason. I asked what the issue was, she used the restroom and we're good now why do we need to leave. She said she doesn't care and we need to get out. I told her we spent money on hookah and drinks and it was pointless to kick us out, the female officer started grabbing me and I told her that's not necessary, she started swinging on me so I defended myself. They all started pushing and shoving us all around the establishment to the front door, leaving my belongings. My other friend stepped in between trying to deescalate because again it was all unnecessary. Once outside, they continued to be hostile and very aggressive. My friend that had nothing to do with it asked to grab our belongings, they told him no only the white girl can come back in. She tried and they said we have to come back in the morning. I said absolutely not, we need our belongings now if you're kicking us out. They proceeded to deny us and we stayed outside until the main aggressor finally decided to bring our belongings out, I snatched my phone out of his hand and he decided to go out of his way to pepper spray my friend, threw her to the ground then made it a point to go around the whole group to pepper spray me. There was absolutely no reason or threat for him to feel the need to do that. I feel extremely disrespected, assaulted because of all of this. Especially after spending money in your establishment. These group of security guards should most definitely not be apart of your establishment. They're not good examples of good business and definitely push away loyal customers. They come around every 20 minutes to change the coals and check in on you. Both times I came there was about 7 people here. So never too overcrowded. There's an outside patio which is the prime location. Great for groups. Prices are competitive. Just about average that I've seen in other locations. Only thing that could be improved here is the music. I'm used to places that's a bit more of a vibe. Both times I came there wasn't music playing.

It's like an alcoholic pink drink with the coconut cream, guava and pineapple. Pricy with drinks averaging $15-20 and they have an automatic 18% surcharge on weekends (that is not tip). Food is great. Some of the best wings downtown. The lamb chops are really good too. I wouldn't get the wagyu sliders. It wasn't good. It tasted like an average slider advertised to be fancier since it's "Wagyu". I've had better sliders elsewhere for much cheaper. Save your $30. Parking here is horrible because it's in the heart of gaslamp. Horton plaza parking is probably your best bet if you can't find street parking.

I've had Red White and Badass Brew one other time after my husband raved about this cookies and cream latte he got here. It's a small, local, veteran owned shop, which honestly makes supporting it feel even better. So, I thought getting his favorite drink would help, but turns out that was a seasonal winter drink... please bring it back, it was sooo good. I got in line around 8:30 and there were two cars in front of me. This place is so small and cute, I actually used to work in one of these drive-thru kiosk style cafes so I didn't mind the short wait at all as usually its only one or two people working in there. I do wish they had a menu visible from the line because I couldn't decide what I wanted while waiting. The only things visible were the specials like an avocado toast and a "no lucks given" drink. I ended up pulling up the menu on my phone which works, but it would be more convenient if they had something displayed out front like a sandwich board or something. The employee was incredible, super friendly, my order was taken quick and my drink came out even quicker. It is a little on the pricier side for a cup of coffee but you are supporting a local business. With tip it came out to over $9 for a regular size. I ordered the no lucks given, which is a chocolate Irish cream latte, and swapped to oat milk. My first sip was amazing, a medium dark roast that wasn't bitter at all with a rich chocolate flavor. You could see the chocolate coating the walls of the cup and I'm pretty sure there was a cold foam on top that made it extra creamy. The overall drink was smooth and well balanced, just a little too sweet for my liking but that's something I can adjust next time. I did have a kind of odd moment though. My second sip was great until I got hit with a sudden punch of salt. Like a full on salt crystal just melted on my tongue for a good 10 seconds. It was strong and definitely woke me up... which I guess is what the coffee was supposed to do, I just didn't expect a surprise salt bomb to help with that. After that I checked my drink and everything looked fine and the rest of it tasted great. Overall I'll definitely be back. The service was great, the drink was solid, and I love supporting a spot like this. I can't wait to come here more often, and hopefully one day come back with my husband when comes home from deployment, with his cookies and cream drink back on the menu.

Poor customer service. Today I went and presented a coupon for a $5 sandwich. The clerk said it doesn't say "Prince Hookah" on it and wouldn't accept it. I told him that I cut the coupon out of the $dollar stretcher booklet. So I showed him the back of the coupon where it shows their obviously distinct logo. He still wouldn't accept it! He said you can ask the owner when he comes in at night. I mean I was starving to eat and couldn't wait for 6 hours. I told them they lost my business for the poor customer service. read more

I've been coming here for years. The people who run it are very sweet and hospitable. The pita and hummus is delicious, as well as all their food and teas. I always get rose and vanilla hookah, served with earl grey tea. This is a lovely place, good for studying and hanging out. I prefer when they play the middle eastern music than the newer hip hop and such, but usually I'm too busy in conversation with friends to notice too much. read more
