Coming up for 3 years since I instructed P-E on my lease extension. Still chasing. Suckered in via the 'free' seminar. Quoted £1800 for fees: a quote that's not binding and worth nothing. The problem starts with that £1800 being hoovered up in easy fees from the most senior fee earner, for the prep work including liaising with the surveyor, which any junior could manage. Over £7K later, in fees to P-E alone, and I have now been emailing into a void for over a year. I'm a month into waiting, waiting for an answer as to why £600 was handed over to the freeholder despite me asking to see a receipt for their survey before this was paid. This query was based on my own research into Tribunal findings, and our shared experience of the Freeholder in negotiations. Its the final straw in a long line of straws. All I can say is avoid. Lease extensions like house purchases are rare events in the average life. Neware reviews from first time buyers. We are at the mercy of the professionals. My 'burnt fingers' advice is : do your research.
