The Northeast Men's Clinic is a very professional, clean , comfortable, discreet facility. It is…read moreeasy to get to, and there is parking at the door. The staff is friendly and supportive. The nurse is wonderful - very competent and caring. Having experienced major depression ten years ago which wiped out my (previously very healthy) libido, I tried various remedies - my primary care physician said my T-level was "low normal" (230) ,and he gave me a three month (once-a-month) T-treatment (via injection) which did absolutely nothing (and he gave me no recommendation on what to do next). I wasted a lot of money on all the over-the-counter pills and supplements and nothing worked. I contacted an endocrinologist within my healthcare provider network who would not treat me because (having been diagnosed with mild sleep apnea) I refused to wear a CPAP. So, I contacted Northeast. I met for an hour with their counselor who patiently explained in detail the suggested treatment and was eager to answer any questions I had. He explained that they do not bill an insurance company (I can request reimbursement on my own from my insurance provider- Medicare, which did not honor my request) but I was to pay cash to Northeast. I handed over my VISA card and signed-up for the $1600.00 26-week program of weekly testosterone injections. It was explained to me before doing so that there are no refunds and a desired outcome cannot be guaranteed. However, they were optimistic that within several weeks I'd start feeling better. I could have chosen home self-injection, but I don't like the sight of needles(especially if I am doing the insertion) so I opted to travel the 50 minutes each way to receive my weekly treatment there - walk-in, no appointment necessary (I never had to wait more than ten minutes.). Sadly for me this treatment did nothing to improve libido, energy, diet or sleep. Absolutely nothing. However, my T-level readings at one point shot up to 1200 so the treatment was producing a "measurable" result but just not the desired outcome. I genuinely believe the Clinic was surprised. I realize a healthcare provider can't guarantee a successful outcome - everyone's body responds differently to things. As my plan came to an end, they said I "probably" would see improvement if I continued for another six months (although there was no no pressure from them to do so). They recommended that I see an endocrinologist. Would I recommend Northeast? Yes, but with the suggestion that if you have insurance, check with that provider to see if they'll reimburse you (if not, you may as well see an endocrinologist within your health network where you know you won't pay out of pocket). A healthy libido is worth any cost, obviously, but if it doesn't happen it'd be nice to know someone else pays for it. I would give Northeast the highest rating except for the following: 1) I was never told that one possible "side effect" would be that my testicles would withdraw into the body cavity(which did happen to me about week 11 of treatment). When I called the Clinic (in a panic, of course) no one returned my call within 48 hrs(after which I drove to the facility and met with the counselor who explained that this was a normal occurrence and that a special injection - HCG- can be given to counteract it. I was given a free shot but was told by the nurse that there is a charge for regular HCG shots). 2) Three different lab technicians had difficulty finding my veins in order to draw blood for the labs. The first time they drew blood it was from a vein in the back of my hand which I don't like to have done. The manager said he would register me (at no cost to me) at a blood lab down the street and I could have my blood drawn there. For my last lab, no Northeast lab assistant could find my veins and when I went to the facility down the street they had no record of my being registered there(but they did call Northeast to get me registered at that time). 3) Toward the end of my plan I wanted to try self-injection at home. A lab technician had me do it in front of him to make sure I was doing it right. The next morning (and for the following two days) the muscle in that thigh hurt so much I could hardly bend my leg- was that supposed to happen? I was told the home self-injection kit would arrive within "a few days" - after almost three weeks it never came. At that point my plan was about to end. I mentioned to the receptionist that I never got the home kit. He said that he'd look into it. Within three days the kit arrived but having had the bad experience self-injecting at the clinic I didn't want to continue with it. I returned the kit to the clinic. 4) In the course of my treatment the Clinic provided me with a print copy of my labs. For my last lab at the end of my plan they gave me the results on the phone. I asked for a print copy which they said they'd send me but I never received it.

First month I felt good. Then I developed extreme fatigue and headache. They find nothing in blood…read moretests, maybe because they are so limited. Always different providers with no info, wrong info, or a different persons info on my chart. I only want to stop. I've never been so sick for so long. Wtf? That's my 10 months on trt.
