This gym has a theft problem. While I was working out, someone got into my locked locker, took the…read morecredit cards out of my wallet, locked it back up, and went shopping. By the time I was done exercising, they spent a total of $2,000 at Nordstrom. I spent weeks dealing with the bank to get my money back. The LA Fitness staff didn't seem to care. They just said that they don't have cameras in the locker rooms, so there's not much to be done about it. There is something the staff could do to prevent theft: greet members when they come in the door! When I come in and scan my barcode, the person at the desk is usually scrolling on their phone, and they don't even look up to acknowledge me. If the staff greeted every person who came in the door, then it would give people the idea that the staff are attentive, and they would be less likely to burglarize lockers. Since this incident, I stopped leaving valuables in my locker and got a different combo lock. Nevertheless, someone got into my locked locker again (I could tell because my bag was rearranged, as if someone had gone through it). On the plus side, this is a huge gym with a ton of equipment. I can usually get onto whatever equipment I need without much of a wait. There's also plenty of parking, and it's a convenient location.

Located near Costco on Morena, King of Padel only has 4 pickleball courts but there are also some courts for padel ball. We snagged Court 9, which is located in another part of the building with Court 10. Thankful that we ended up finding a spot to play but these courts aren't the best. There's not much room to back up and we would often run into the walls or accidentally hit the walls when serving. Also, you can't really lob the ball because of how low the ceiling fan is. There's also no clock in the room so make sure you keep track of your reservation! The total cost ended up being $20 for an hour on Sunday morning. Despite some of the downsides of the indoor courts, the price for the entire hour wasn't bad at all. It's a great alternative if you really can't find anything else in the area.

We called in and they said a court was available so we drove over! - PARKING - Pretty tight spots but there's a decent amount of parking all along the back. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - You can play padel ball or pickleball here. It costed us $20/hr to rent a court out. Not all the courts are equal - 9 and 10 are inside an extended room and there's not much space to back up in. Looks like other players had the same issue, as we came in seeing a large hole in the wall! They have several side tables where you can place your things and sit down. - EXPERIENCE - I will say everything seems very organized, and well kept, cleanliness wise. $20/hr isn't half bad for indoor courts. - OVERALL - This place will be on our list if we ever run out of available courts or if it rains again!

Originally why I stopped coming was due to how crowded and unorganized it was which was such a deterrent! After the recent remodel with up to 18-20 Squat Racks, additional benches/dumbbells, and more Leg Machines, I started coming here over my favored UTC, but now that UTC downgraded from 11 Racks to 6 and removed the outdoor area in favor of potential Pickleball Courts I will not be going back unless they can bring back what they had before or even better as it's not a great place to go anymore for a Powerbuilding workout. For a Push Pull Leg workout between 3-5 days a week Balboa really hits better now and my only gripes are if they had more of the nice water bottle refill stations and cleaned the bathroom more since people come in from the pool and leave the ground wet, but the plumbing and cleanliness here is still better than at UTC which seemed to not make any changes on that front. If the dumbbells were organized as well that would be great but I can see how hard it is to manage. Overall this is my new home for now and definitely would recommend as it's not as seemingly as crowded before with more equipment availability. 3 stars but I would put 4 if the place itself was more organized and bathroom was always clean and dry!

To: General Manager Namon I am writing to formally bring to your attention persistent issues regarding the performance and professional conduct of the late-night staff member Isiah. The African American employee who rides a motorcycle. During his shifts, he consistently fails to answer the facility telephone. When I personally told him the pool was overflowing, he was on his cellular phone and dismissed the inquiry by stating, "I'm on a phone." I strongly recommend a review of the CCTV footage, as it appears he remains largely idle throughout his shift. He refuses to talk to members unless it's an attractive female which he will talk to them for awhile. Last night, a notable incident occurred when the pool overflowed. Despite multiple members, including myself, alerting him to the situation, he responded by stating it was not his problem. I have previously contacted corporate regarding his conduct without resolution; however, his continued lack of initiative is concerning. His general attitude and lack of engagement are unprofessional. He routinely prepares to depart by putting on his motorcycle helmet approximately 20 minutes before his shift ends, which is unacceptable. My primary concern is that he will fail to respond during a genuine emergency. Attached are photographs of the pool area documenting the neglect from last night. I trust you will address this matter to ensure the facility is staffed by individuals committed to their responsibilities. I also wanted to add he continuously wears racist, inappropriate, political hoodies that read not strong vulgar messages on the back. The text on the back of the hoodie is a play on words that combines contemporary conversations around gender identity with a tough, aggressive, or protective persona. It reads: "I IDENTIFY AS A THREAT. MY PRONOUNS ARE TRY / ME." Meaning and Signification Subversion of Identity Language: It utilizes the standard linguistic framework of stating gender identity and preferred pronouns ("I identify as...", "My pronouns are...") and replaces them with words meant to project strength, defiance, or danger. A "Tough Guy" or Defensive Persona: The phrase "Try me" is a common idiom used as a challenge or a warning to others not to test a person's limits, patience, or physical capability. By framing "Try" and "Me" as pronouns, the wearer is signaling that their core identity is centered around being someone who should not be messed with. I have tried to complain to management via Instagram messager and have not received any replies.

But, the decided to take advantage of my membership and have the opportunity to visit the ones that benefited my list of "Things to Do" for the day. Since my doctor's appointment for today is a few blocks away from Toby Wells- it was ideal to come here. At least this location opens at 5:30am (including the indoor pool). My regular location opens at 6am. And the extra half hour really makes a difference. Although the spa area was closed this morning- the overhead music was playing at a decent volume, then decreased by the end of my hour aquatic walking & exercises. Since I tend to dedicate my hour to aquatic walking- I noticed the entire pool has depths of 3 1/2 ft to 5 Ft to 3 1/2 feet in length. Which I thought was interesting. And I liked it! Compared to Oceanside & Rancho San Diego- I like how the pool depth is lined up. Although I can swim- I prefer 5 feet being the deepest for my aquatic routine. Lifeguard staff is friendly and didn't seem bothered when I had simple questions about the facility. For the 3 YMCA locations that I've been to- the pool is the primary reason I got membership. If it's any other location that I'll visit- I make a habit to call the evening before to inquire if the pool will be open. But, I do bring a change of clothes, a n case there's a last minute pool closure. This location has a hallway leading from the men's & women's locker rooms leading to the indoor pool. The women's locker room is updated in renovations compared to the other locations. There are combo locks installed with the lockers- which is a cool feature. I asked a regular member to show me how to use it. The women's lockers are all half sized- which makes it very convenient. Plenty of makeup/ mirror stations w/ blow dryers. New shower heads and a wet suit extractor, which is also a bonus. I like how the pool area offers mini foam boards and dumbbells for your aquatic fitness regimen. Just make sure to put equipment back where you got them from
