This review is for the South campus…read more Both of my daughters started at LePort in the Spanish Immersion when they were 18 months old. My older daughter did great in the toddler program but we started to see issues when she moved to Primary. I met with Ms. Ana many times where we tried bringing in books from home or I sent her pictures and Ms. Ana made a special work item for my daughter to keep her interest. Eventually we found out that my daughter is Autistic. At that point I asked Ms. Ana to work with me to have a Behavioral Therapist in the school with my daughter. Very long story short, this Montessori environment is not the right environment for my neurodivergent child. But over the last 2 years I have spent upwards of 50 hours on the phone and in Ms. Ana's office trying to find ways to help my daughter succeed. Ms. Ana never gave up trying to help us. I love the Montessori curriculum and LePort was able to nurture my daughter's intelligence where she has just turned 5 and is reading chapter books and learning division. My younger daughter is currently having a blast in Ms. Ivette's classroom. A word of advice for parents experiencing behavioral issues - get your child assessed. My relationship with my daughter improved infinitely once I had professionals helping me understand how her mind works and how to speak to her in a way that she understands.

After using part of the program, we experienced concerns regarding the instructional quality and teaching experience. We even requested a teacher change during the program due to teaching style concerns. Unfortunately, the issues persisted and the program became a source of frustration and stress for our child. We decided to discontinue the program with 44 hours still unused. What surprised us most was that despite having approximately $2,468 worth of unused hours remaining, the center refused any refund and relied entirely on a non-refundable policy. The only options offered were to keep the package on hold indefinitely or continue using services that were no longer working for our child. My advice to other parents: do not prepay for a large package unless you are completely certain the program, teachers, and teaching style are the right fit for your child. Teaching quality and student experience are important factors that cannot be fully evaluated in advance, and if problems arise later, you may have no practical way to recover the unused balance. I am sharing this experience so other families can make an informed decision before committing thousands of dollars upfront.

We sought out a school that with small classes, stimulating curriculum, engaged teachers, and a supportive social environment. Vandamme Academy has exceeded on all levels - and we only wish we had enrolled sooner! The small classes and overall school environment are what first brought us to Vandamme. We love that each grade level has only one class with roughly 15 students. The homeroom/subject matter class structure makes a huge impact in that it allows students to form relationships with multiple adults (and role models) at school. As we approach the end of our first year at Vandamme, we have seen how much maturity and confidence our kids have gained through these relationships. It is also clear that the teachers truly get to know each student's learning style, personality, strengths, and areas of need. The rigorous academic program is thoughtfully designed by Ms. Vandamme and the teaching staff in a way that challenges and inspires students. We love that the teachers specialize in subjects that they are passionate about. In doing so, they pass on their interest onto the students, so that students become interested and engaged in each subject. Just last week, I was blown away when my fourth grader asked to go to the library for books on Shakespeare's works. Beyond academics, we love Vandamme's positive and inclusive social environment. I've had the privilege of volunteering at two school events and chaperoning one field trip this year.
