Have eaten here several times. The food has always been excellent and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly. Something just not quite right about the atmosphere in the dining room. We were on our own in there this time. read more

Staff not unfriendly, but a bit brisk. We were slight put off by various signs about children - one warning that one shouldn't purchase food if you couldn't guarantee your children would sit quietly while you ate. And another about disposal of nappies. Not exactly welcoming.

We would go a lot more often if they took bookings. We'd love to go on birthdays or for special occasions but because they don't take bookings it isn't worth the risk of spoiling the day.

Staff were always friendly and polite, the only problem was with the room. Everything was clean and tidy but it was very small and could have done with a freshen up! Careful with the stairs too, doors open right on to them, perhaps a little dangerous after a few Christmas drinks!
Over the past 5 years or so, I've often popped into the Manor Hotel for a refreshing break during…read morethe day. It is a spacious and welcoming hotel. I've found the management very obliging and customer focussed. Just today, I called in again to see the renovations which have been taking place over the past few weeks. They have been tastefully and thoughtfully carried out adding much to the ambience of the building. The spacious new restaurant area is an excellent example of creative planning for growth and for customer enjoyment. The alterations have been tastefully actioned to give a real sense of freshness and change without a complete new scheme. It speaks of quallity planning and thought. The new location for the bar and the function rooms have been modified with finesse. You are welcome to explore the hotel for yourself. I've not stayed in the accommodation area or even visited it but I sense it would match the more visible part of the hotel. Recently enjoyed a delicious lunch with a group of friends. The Manor do a special on certain days 2meals for the price of one. Well worth exploring. Global Nomad

It was located across the street from our friends house (literally). The bed was super comfortable, although the room was a bit hot and had no AC. The food was really good with a good selection. The bar was quite cheap with an excellent selection of beer, wine and spirits. Didn't get to sample the spa, but their selection of options was quite impressive. The room was very modern, well sized, the grounds were great (even included a couple of goats!), there was a family room complete with Playstation, billiards table, flat screen TV showing sports, comfy sofas and an overall really good vibe to the place. I can just about guarantee that we will stay here again. The price was exceptionally good, £100 for one night and we felt we got a lot out of it! Highly recommend this place.

I stayed here with my girlfriend for a brief weekend. The rooms are very cute and the service is…read moreexcellent. The real winner here though, is the restaurant. Normally I find that hotel restaurants are stupidly expensive with subpar selection, service, and quality. This is not the case with this hotel's built in eatery. I'd go so far as to say it's worth it to come here JUST FOR THE FOOD! We each had the broccoli and stilton soup with the burger. The soup was rich and creamy with a very delicate flavour. The burger was possibly the best I've ever had. It was massive. The meat was flavourful, perfectly seasoned and cooked. In many cases a burger is defined and made by the surrounding compliments, but I could eat the meat on its own. Speaking of the condiments, however, it should be noted that this was the most well-dressed burger I think I've seen. It was served on top of what I can only describe as a toasted mini baguette, topped with melted cheese and a green aioli that really complimented the meat. If you live around this area, I highly recommend it. I now wish I'd tried some of the more expensive menu items, but I'm a student so I'll save that for a future trip. The waitresses were also very kind and attentive, and though there weren't many other patrons, we received our food quickly. Edit: We went back for dinner on our second day. I had the braised lamb shoulder and it's very difficult to say which is better, the burger or the lamb. The chefs are artist. The shoulder came with some greens and a creamy mash. The arrangement is topped with a sauce that I can only describe as tasting like a sweet hickory gravy with what might be called slight asian and fruity accents. It's amazingly tasty and equal to if not better than the aforementioned burger. I highly recommend this place.

It was very encouraging to experience the good welcome and kind service, even when it is a small item. Observing the interaction of the staff with clients was also encouraging. The ambience was good too and everywhere you looked you seemed to receive the message we are cared for. There seemed to be a good number of guests and a pleasant atmosphere. Global Nomad
