It' may be a ten minute walk from the centre of town (past the park, in the direction of the station) but it's certainly worth the short walk. They have a fantastic set menu, at 3 courses for 15 euros and it is far from set as the patron will suggest so much more than is on the menu for that amazing price. having eaten at so many substandard places in the centre of Soissons, I did not expect much at all but what I was presented with was a full three courses of the most incredible cuisine available for many miles and not just in Soissons. for the main course I chose the Bavette de Boeuf . I was served with possibly the best tasting steak I've ever eaten, served in a lovely wine based shallot sauce. After that, I thought I'd tasted the pinnacle of what the restaurant had to offer but with so much choice I was unable to decide what to have for dessert. The friendly and very amicable patron suggested something called Zuba Napolitaine, something I'd never heard of before, so I jumped at the chance to taste something new and I was not disappointed. All I can say is wow! It was without any doubt the best gateau I have ever tasted. A layered fruity cake, with creme pattisier, soft and sweet with a hint of rum and topped with clace fruits in a soft and creamy topping. This restaurant really wowed me. The food is absolutely fantastic, as are the really great prices. There are so few restaurants that really wow me these days but this one totally blew me away. I ate there the following evening and the experience was just as great My only regret is not asking for the recipe for the gateau.

My husband and I walked from our residence to pick them up. While we waited we had a glass of rose and a spritz. The employees were so delightful and helpful. Took an hour or more to get it but it came hot hot. The only thing I would suggest is adding more cheese and drizzle some olive oil on top and maybe a balsamic reduction to bring it all together but other then that it was great.
