My dog was Injured at Preppy Pet after jumping their fence and being hit by a car! We dropped my dog Layla off at 11:30am on December 11th. We were taking a 3 day vacation to Universal Studios for my son's birthday. She jumped their fence because she was not being supervised properly. Carol the owner was off on this day. Layla was hit by a car at 2:10pm (the driver who hit her contacted us a few days later). He called the police shortly after. We left our house for the hotel at 2:45pm. We had no idea that anything had happened to Layla because we were never called! My mother in law called Preppy Pet to check on Layla and was told that Layla had jumped their fence and everyone was out looking for her. We had just gotten to the hotel and put our clothes away. This was around 5pm. We had a missed phone call at 4:52pm and 4:56pm but no messages were left saying there was an emergency with our dog. Layla was hit by the car at 2:10pm and we were not contacted until 3 hours later. We called the number back and was told by Carol the owner that Layla was missing and had jumped the fence. We immediately left the hotel and drove an hour and a half back home to search for Layla. It was a total nightmare! A woman reached out to us shortly after to tell us Layla was hit by a car (before 8pm we were not aware that Layla was hit by a car). We had an AirTag on her collar and finally at 8:30pm we found Layla behind a woman's trailer. She was in shock, shivering and bleeding. Her leg was severely injured! She has a chipped bone and a degloving injury on her leg. The wound was so bad we could see her bone. My husband and I picked her up and rushed her to the emergency vet. When we later asked Carol why it took 3 hours to call us she told us it was Preppy Pet policy to wait one hour to contact the owner. That way they could look for her. On the website it says we will contact you immediately if there is any emergency with your dog. We were not allowed to see the inside of the fence where Layla jumped. We asked Carol to see the video of Layla jumping the fence and we were told the camera didn't pick up Layla jumping the fence. Carol then handed us our contract and said In case we need this in the future. We are very upset how this whole incident has been handled. We feel we have been lied to several times. We just want to know what happened to our dog and why did it take so long to contact us! Layla is lucky to be alive after being hit by a car! read more

I want to preface my review with the fact that I don't own a dog, so I cannot speak to the quality of their dog boarding services. I boarded my cat with them for six weeks due to a training I had to leave town for. They were extremely accommodating to my fears and always answered when I called to check on my cat. They let my family come in to visit him and see how he was doing. He got play time with the staff and became best friends with another cat. They fed him twice a day, changed his litter and crushed up his medication for him. He came back to me playful and loving. I was destroyed having to leave my cat behind, and they made it a more positive experience. read more

Our two dogs love Preppy Pet! They've now stayed there several times for various length stays and seem to love it every time. The first thing to know about Preppy Pet Suites is that these are franchises... so therefore, I think each one will provide a different experience for your pup, and the owner of each individual franchise DEFINITELY determines what kind of place it is! And this place is great. The staff is very friendly, and you can really tell that they love dogs. People that don't have a dog don't have the same level of love (& patience!) for the pets. You can really tell the staff that works there does so for the love of these furry guys, not for a weekly paycheck. That makes all the difference in the world!! Love the webcams, and the fact that they give you a full tour whenever you stop by. The whole place is really clean, and there are no hidden rooms or back areas which gives peace of mind. And what makes this place even better is the price! It is the most affordable place I've been able to find that I feel comfortable taking our dogs there. If boarding your dog, you must opt-in for the "All Day Play" option for $7. Your pup will get to get to play all day with dogs his size, with multiple breaks for the bathroom, running outside, and one mid-day nap. He'll sleep so much better at night after playing all day and will be much less anxious that you're gone. The only thing that could be a little more clear is the price - the website is a bit confusing. But regardless, it's extremely reasonable. Yeah no way I would go back again. Sorry. Over crowded. Serious lack of dog play time and outdoor time. They don't even have staff during night hours incase of the event your dog were to get sick. Its not a boarding place.... its pretty much a dog shelter. You leave your dog feeling pretty much abandoned. And while you are away... your dog just sits there barking & howling in misery. Hard floors, Hard metal gates, too many dogs in one area- nothing luxurious about this place. I won't be coming back unfortunately as they seemed like nice staff there. :( read more

I was going to give this place 2 stars because my dogs always left that place VERY stressed out. It is also really loud and I cant imagine that they got much sleep. One of my dogs came home and she had really bloody stool. The vet said this was caused by stress. They also tried to charge me close to $20 for a bath for one of my dogs. They did not blow her undercoat out or anything. the good things are: 1. the webcams in the play areas 2. the employees seem nice accept for the owner who seems to ONLY be a dog person. 3. it is very clean. Suggestion: try to provide webcam views in the runs where the dogs sleep. sound proofing would be great too if possible. read more

We had a reservation to drop our pets off here today march 27 we visited last week to check out the place and talked to the staff because our dog can't be in the open play area with other dogs and they told us that's fine and can take him for private play time then today they call and tell my wife we have been trespassed from the property just hours from when we where due to drop off our pets claiming my 8 year old daughter who is autistic was flipping the bird at customers in their lobby the whole time we where there we only saw one other customer and she was going in as we were leaving these people are just despicable why advertise that you have private play when you really don't? read more

We left our two dogs peanut and buddy at preppy pet in April 2016. I took the "tour" before leaving our boys and should of known something THEN because it was LOUD and I felt rushed. Anyway, I could never see my boys on the so called camera and if I did then it always looked like the same picture. We left for 10 days. When we picked up our boys, they were not happy AT ALL. They did not even have anything to do with us for about a week or so. Then one day shortly after their stay at preppy pet, I went to use my grabbers to reach something and our boys were afraid of my grabbers which never happened before. Now, I am not saying that they used anything towards our boys, but I was watching TV one day and a though came to me to look up and see what a cow prod shock tool look like, so I looked it up and my grabbers resembled what a cow prodder looks like. I don't know what took place at preppy pet, but something happened to our boys, and this is know for sure. I will NEVER use preppy pet again. read more

We have been bringing our chocolate lab to preppy pets for the last two years. We have boarded her here and have taken her just for daycare/play date time. We have never been disappointed. Our lab gets really excited when we turn onto Tully Rd because she knows that is where she is headed. She makes a "bee line" for the door to get in and loves the staff (they love her too). I have them bathe her before I pick her up and she always has a cute scarf on and is more calm when I pick her up than when I drop her off. At times she doesn't want to leave...She plays a lot!! I left my two dogs for the first time at this location for five days recently. I left my Chihuahuas stress pillow with her to have in her cage at all times. When I dropped my dogs off I explained to the older lady at the desk how important it was that she had the pillow with her as she was a very nervous dog. When I came to pick them up they had not only lost her pillow but also the blanket that was provided for them. Not sure how it could've gotten lost if it was in the cage with them at all times, or was it?The young man that was there when I picked my dogs up was very helpful tried several times to find the pillow and blanket. Obviously these items had not been in the cage with them as I had asked. He said he would call us and update us on the pillow. We never received a call. We went in two days later to see if they had found the pillow or the blanket. The blanket was found but the pillow never was. Clearly they don't care enough about the pets that are left with them to make them feel safe and secure. I will NEVER bring my fur children back to this location. read more

I dropped off my two dog for a three day stay... and when I went to pick up me dogs I recieved them filled of URINE my dog was soaked.... and DIRTY!!!! I was FURIOUS and then after tell the staff we were that it was not urine but was drool .... really my dog was soaking wet from head toe!!!! From drool!!!! The saff took my dog to the back and 10 min later she came out dry but still dirty!!!! Unreal!!!!! Then I called the Corperate office and was told that the owner of this facility would call me... well I waited two days and no call! So I call them and left a message... about 3 hours later the owner called me AND TOLD SHE WAS NOT GOING TO CALL ME BUT WAS GOING TO WRITE ME A LETTER!!! She gave me a apology but then defended the staffs actions!!! Unreal!!! She stated that it was drool and not urine!!! She even lied to me and said she was there when i picked up my dogs when that's a BIG LIE!!!! She was not there... she had the nerve to say that my wife and I had attitudes when arrived to pick up my dogs!!! This is unreal behavior starting from the owner on down!!!! MY ADVICE IS NEVER EVER TO BOARD YOUR PETS HERE.... HORRIBLE SERVICE! read more

I have a rescue labradoodle who is skittish with people, but the minute I turn up their street off the main road my fellow howls with excitement! Not a resort at all! Metal pens for a play area, over run with chiuahas, loud, loud, loud, smells like bleach, pens are small. The dogs are completely unstaffed after 8pm and no one comes back until 7:45am. There are no cameras and much resistance if you want to do the tour and sniff test. Did not have another alternative but stayed up all night til I located a place in Kisimee. Immediately got my dogs out of there! I heard good things about this place, but was no impressed at all when I took my dog there for the day. The place is very small. They really have no "Rooms" the dogs play in, just pens, and there is not nearly enough room for dogs to even romp and play. When I picked my dog up and we went outside he immediately went potty for over a minute, do they even let the dogs out during their stay?! He also drank a gallon of water when we got home. This was our first experience at Preppy Pet Suites, and my dog seemed to LOVE it! She loved the play time with the other dogs! She left Preppy Pet tired, but happy....you can pick the size kennel you want for your dog, how much play time you want to pay for, and if you want a bath before pick up. (extra fee, but worth it!) All of the staff were super nice, and you can "puppy cam" your pet in the play areas while you are away. Overall...GREAT place for pet boarding! read more

I have been a customer for the past three years. I too, have loved, recommended and given a positive review for this place. I use to feel comfortable leaving my pet there. This is no longer true. They no longer have 1/2 day play. This is something I prefer for my pet. He is exhausted with full day play. There are too many small dogs in one area that they can not get a breather and sit for a little bit. My biggest complaint is the fumes from this place has become TOXIC. When I first toured this facility (about three years ago) I was assured that things were sanitized with pet friendly chemicals. This is no longer true. On my last visit (July 2012) I asked them what was I smelling that was so strong and they told me bleach. They were using bleach so strong that my eyes were burning. I had hoped that I was just sensitive that day, seeing that I was leaving my dog there. When I returned to the car I could actually taste it in my mouth. I was very irresponsible for leaving my pet there. I should have made other arrangements. When I returned 4 days later my dog had a cough and was sneezing for about a week. What is also bad is that they told me an employee was allergic and had attack when she was asked to clean with the bleach. They do not realize that they are poisoning are pets with these fumes? I will no longer be a customer because of this unsafe practice.They should know better. I am guessing that bleach is much cheaper to use then the pet friendly products. took advantage of us. while we were gone two of our dogs got "sick". one was sick for more than 24 hours but they took him to after hours vet and charged us $25 for transportation. second dog got sick and they also took this dog to "THEIR" vet not the vet we had written and discussed. They did not call our emergency contact either to get the ok. They charged us excessively. I have great concern they mishandled by bigger dog and in my opinion, to control her were choking her. took advantage of us. Beware. should go out of buisness for poor practices. read more

I thought the front office personal seemed friendly enough and interacted with my 3dogs when I dropped them off for 1/2 day of daycare. I was thinking of boarding them, so I took them in for a 1/2 day to see how they would like it. After leaving I watched them on the puppycam. Well, there was a lot of dog in the small play area, seemd like too many I thought. My poor guys just sat there and looked miserable, as did several other dogs. Then another dog started to harass one of my little guys, a little bit., running up and nipping at him. I could tell he wasnt happy. This went on for a little while, but I wondered " where are the staff". I even called, the facility but no one answered. Occasionally I would see a person coming in to clean the play area, but absolutely not interaction with the dogs by anyone was seen. I did miss the dogs leaving the play area on the puppy cam and I would have like to have at least seen that or how they interacted in the play yard. I don't know I guess they just seemed coralled into a small area and left there. I thought the staff would have more interaction with the dogs. I have decided to not board and just hire someone to come and take care of my dogs in my home. I did find the place to be very clean. No odors. read more
