Population of nearly 400.000 people & no public transportation?…read more Really Arlington? Really? Luckily I drove & rode a bike while I lived in this dismal, boring city. Seriously, there's nothing to do other than go to one of their many [crappy] bars I suppose. Oooh, they built a big football stadium..! Great for sports fanatics. For the rest of us? Go shoot yourself. The worst part: IT'S A COLLEGE TOWN! But... Nothing cool to be found there. Not even the area around UTA has anything substantially cool! So sad. I'll never live here again! BOO!!

Moved in recently (yes, I'm now one of THOSE notorious transplants, they're calling us…read more"Dallifornians" now), and I couldn't be happier! Streets are well maintained, people say "yes sir", "no sir" and "how's your day?", parks are clean and abundant, there's shopping and food GALORE, and they mow along the highways! No joke. There's always a freeway with a frontage road and huge grass lawn adjacent to it. King of the Hill did not lie! A big perk of this area is the lack of homeless and a market for jobs. Every other place is hiring for something. It may be part time, but I'm from San Diego and there's NO jobs in that county. Here, they just need somebody dependable. Professional businesses are hiring constantly, you just have to scan listings. For .gov jobs, each city has its own listings. I've seen quite a few entry level postings for Fort Worth, Mansfield, etc. Arlington obviously has its own jobs board. I've yet to see a shopping center completely dilapidated, even on Cooper. The whole area is better kept than FW, but not as high end as Dallas. Kind of an in between. Also, the ladies say hi to you. This is a big one because Cali girls are cute, but they're extremely stuck-up. You have to chase them, or be tan tall GQ Johnny Encinitas Sixpack. In Tarrant County, women are gorgeous and outgoing to men. In fact, the entire community has that coveted Southern Hospitality, and it's unavoidable. You will get killed with kindness here. My only complaint so far is the metro planning made 287 and 20 kind of a mess for the suburbs. It can get confusing with streets running parallel and then crossing, or streets that just change names. This typically happens when a highway gets involved. I'm renting, but I hear housing is very reasonable. They get you on property taxes though. Hey, funding for water and lawn mowers has to come from somewhere. Great place for those who don't need huge mountains, forests or an ocean nearby. Also, it gets cold in winter, and humid in spring and summer. So get used to seasons if you're here.
