After months of waiting for a…read morescheduled appointment for a consultation, we ourselves found out, without the administration calling us or telling us by the way, that they rescheduled to a later day early in the morning because the doctor was not present in the center that whole day. That alone is such an inconvenience. Other people also had similar problems and they had to drive for so long to the center only to find out their appointments were rescheduled without prior notice. To make matters way worse, on the day of the rescheduled appointment, the wait time was ridiculously long for us and everyone else in the waiting room. We waited for over two hours past our scheduled appointment time and we left without seeing the doctor. This whole place is a joke. I don't ever recommend going here.

Every time I went back for him to reinsert new plugs, he charged me a surgical copay. Then office staff tried to get me to do lipiflow, offering installment payments and charging a certain percentage interest. I felt like I was shopping at a car dealership. He also wasn't helping me with my dry eye by not telling me things that would help with the DED, like preservative free tears, mask at night, etc. Finally I found one of the best dry eye specialists in Boston area that really helped me with dry eye and used collagen plugs that never came out. When I told the new doctor my experience with Dr Kornmehl (didn't name him), he said let me guess who you went to and he guessed right. So if you suffer dry eye, stay away. There are a few really good dry eye doctors in the Boston area that will care about you and your eye health and not be in it for the money. He's no different than a car salesman.

However, I am perplexed at the amount of "masking" this office requires today in nearly 2025. Which sums it up: the office is high on technology -machines and gadgets- but low on SCIENCE

My daughter who just turned 4 has been going here to see Dr. Amita Bhatt when she was just 2 months…read moreold because our peditrician saw that her eye crossing seemed to be more than your typical new baby crossing. We continued to see her a few more times till she was 6months and her crossing had not cleared but become more easily definable and the appointments were uppped to try to get good measurements till she was 9 months and Dr Bhatt performed surgery on both eyes (she had infantile esotropia) and we saw amazing results within days of the surgery. We still continue to see her every 6 months and every appointment it amazes me how patient she is and how sweet she is with the kids, she is one of the reasons my daughter has no fear of doctors or hospitals and we look forward to seeing her every time. Dr. Bhatt was also great and had even asked us if we wanted to get a second opinion when she could tell we were worried and even gave us a list of doctors she recommended. The staff there as well were amazing, between the assistants who perform the tests ahead of time and take down our information to the staff that schedule appointments and helped us go over what to expect when it came time to scheduling for surgery. We highly recommend the office!

Doctors are mostly competent and skilled if you can get through to make appointment. Rude staff also wont let you use the stairs to go up to third floor if you have appointment with them, probably violating a safety code. He then went onto say , the anesthesia nurse would place something in my mouth to open my airway. At first I didn't think this was strange since I've had prophepol before many times for colonoscopies and upper endoscopies. the next day I was recapping my notes I had taken and I know this isnot done for prophepol sedation. My 2 nd consult 4 months later , Dr.Kapadia says , he prefers to use local sedation with lidocaine injections in the eyelids where you are totally awake but do dot feel pain. He said he prefers this method bc he can ask the patient to open their eyes so he can see where to stitch and therefore create the eyelid crease. I said wow! this is totally different than what my first meeting covered. I said I would think about it however, I would probably prefer prophepol sedation . Dr.Kapadia then replied, well we can adjust the dose so you can sit up and open your eyes. I then emailed Dr.Kapadia 2 weeks after my 2 nd visit asking him if he provides the name of the anesthesia in writing . He has you sign a fee page stating if the patient is having anesthesia which is one price and another legal document if you choose to be awake with local anesthetic. The reason wanted this inserted in his document he wants you to sign is because , general anesthesia is riskier and other shorter acting anesthesia like Versed doesn't make me feel well afterwards. Prophepol agrees with me the best and is a lesser risk than general anesthesia. in fact, Dr.Kapadia should be thankful that a patient is divulging this info about what their experience with various types of anesthesia ! in fact it is less of a risk for him! Dr.Kapdaia responded to my email, by saying I didn't trust him and he could use general anesthesia or in fact any any anesthesia he feels the patient responds to. That's not how it's supposed to work! You don't wait until the patient is ready for surgery and guess or try different methods! Dr. Kapadia can't be trusted !My guess is when anesthesia is used, he does whatever he wants bc, the patient will never know! I had asked if when the patient is prepped for surgery does the anesthesia nurse review the risks and what to expect when being administered anesthesia drug ,prophepol showing them the drug and how it is administered. Dr.Kapadia's response was " you don't trust me and we won't put anything we are administering in writing , nor will we show you what we are administering. stay away ! it's an expensive surgery Buyer beware!
