I hired Joshua 6 months ago to help me catch up on taxes, we met sat and discussed our issues and…read morewhat we were looing for from an accountants. We showed Joshua our receipts and the work load involved. He assured us that it would be no problem and he was happy to earn our business. Joshua charged us upfront to start the bookkeeping a sum of $2000 which we gladly paid by C.C. Through out the 6 months I reached out multipole times asking how things were coming along and what else needed to be sent. Everything was provided and Joshua sent a test message confirming he had everything required and would have our taxes completed by the middle of May as he was busy into tax season. Both my husband and I received the same confirmation. I contacted Joshua May 14th looking to pay the remaining portion of the bill and finally be caught up with my taxes, However what I received was a text message from him (not even a phone call) that he could not use my receipts I provided for my right offs and that I had two options, 1. find a new firm to do my taxes or 2. only use my bank statements to complete the taxes. To my knowledge from his text messages this was already completed. Joshua knew the work involved before taking us on and now in May of 2025 he replied with look elsewhere or miss out on 100's of dollars in write offs. He did not provided any account on what had been done and offered me a partial refund. I expressed I was not happy and expected a full refund due to bookkeeping not completed, nothing prepared, and no evidence to believe otherwise. Joshua then proceeded to drop off my documentation in a box to an unsecure location (not his office) but at an office building that he no longer resided in called the Foundry. My documents were left in a tote by the back door, even after I requested by text, because he would not answer the phone to talk about things, that he meet me so I could pick them up directly from him. He brought my documents from his office at Georgian Business center unit #303 a safe, secure location and dropped them off at a public building and left them by the back door? While he was there dropping them off I messaged him and again asked if he would wait so I could speak to him. (Nope) gone! NO REFUND, NO WORK DONE (or proof to prove otherwise) I tried multiple times to reach out via text and phone. There are many reputable tax agency's in Collingwood folks, Think twice before using this guy!!

We hired him in Nov to do our taxes.  Our receipts and information was extensive but organized and…read morehe agreed to take on our challenge and he took $2000 as a deposit.  We gave him all our info and have many emails about him saying he was doing the work.  We have zero proof that any work was performed, we sent many emails asking for updates and seemed to get basic responses.  When information was requested from us we provided it as needed.  Today, out of the blue, he said he was not going to do the work he promised and took our money with no refund whatsoever.  In the end he took our $2000 deposit and has no proof that anything at any point was done.  I don't even think he looked at our statements.  This guy is a crook and I would not recommend him to anyone or to anyone in the Collingwood area.  You did no work for the $2000 you claim you did in the response and also cant provide any proof that work was done. It is all a Lie.  You did not leave our paperwork in a secure area like you said, you left our papers outside on the street of a public building where anyone could have picked up our information.  You were very hard to get a hold of, sometimes waiting over a week or more and every time we did communicate you kept on making excuses on why it wasn't started.  ( I have many emails from him stating that it has not been started or he was about to start the process.  In the end, we were left right where we started but now we are out $2000.00.
