I'm struck by the negative review from someone who allegedly couldn't attend classes because of the time slots.
I attend classes multiple times a week at Premier, and the schedule is designed around working people: they have late evening classes so most adults who work can come in after clocking out. 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. is primetime for adult classes, and for people who can't attend those times, there are noon classes and a Saturday morning class.
Logistics aside, this place is amazing. Mr. Taylor is not just very skilled in martial arts, (4th degree blackbelt, about to earn his fifth I believe), he is also incredibly knowledgeable on how criminals work. The philosophy of attacking is something he actively studies and he shares his knowledge in engaging, informative ways. You learn what to look for, and how to prepare yourself when it comes.
Premier has multiple outstanding high-ranked instructors who love the craft of Krav Maga. They can perform techniques impressively, but they never make beginners feel out of place. This is an ideal place for new learners: instructors are encouraging, skilled and patient. They want students to gain confidence and become equipped to defend themselves.
The classes Premier offers are about more than impressing friends with a belt color; there is a life and death element and a serious, thoughtful tone which gives instruction a much deeper meaning.
Seriously all of the instructors shine in their own way. Mr. Brady is hardcore and a bad ass who motivates you to always do your best and not care about making noise while executing moves. Mr. Anderson is patient and encouraging and never minds repeating a demonstration no matter how many times you ask. Mr. Howe is funny and warm and great with the kids, but also sets high standards for physical achievement, and works kids and adults to their limits.
And the students: there are people who have been training here for years, earning their second and third degree black belts and beyond. People who might never quit coming here. They don't just love martial arts, they love it here, and I know why.
This is definitely a great place to improve your physical health. They have crosskick fitness classes that correspond with the martial arts, so you can take them to supplement your training or just on their own. Those classes are incredibly affordable.
The only caveat I have for Premier is that it can seem expensive when your training for a blackbelt. It is comparable to Prime Martial Arts, not higher, not lower, so the prices are within range of expectation. If you think spending $125 a month to learn martial arts is too much, I ask you to reconsider. I am a novice, but I view martial arts as an investment in my body, mind and safety. It has helped me lose 30 pounds in under six months, and it has increased my confidence, energy levels and overall wellbeing. My two children take classes, and they are comforted by the stability of attending classes, and they love to see their skills grow. The evolution of belt colors is a tangible way to track their goal progress. We have somehow become a martial arts family and I plan to never look back. read more
