Cornerstone Cleaners - This is the zipper that they charged me for, but did not repair.

I used Cornerstone cleaners weekly for my work uniform dry cleaning for two years without any…read moreissues, although I thought they were expensive - to the tune of over $500 a year. Last month, I took the ballistic fabric 'skin' off of my suitcase to get them to resew two zippers that had torn loose. There were also two small holes about the size of a pea that I wanted repaired as well. The owner would not quote me a price because he wasn't sure how long it would take him to repair the bag because the zipper repair would have to be handstiched. He estimated it would be in the $60 range, so I was a little shocked at the $97 bill when it was ready several weeks later. When I was putting the skin back on the suitcase frame, I noticed that one of the two zippers was not resewn. I took it back and he said that he could not repair the zipper while it was on the case frame. I reminded him that he charged me for hand sewing the repair, and it appeared to me he could repair it while it was on the frame. I didn't want to remove the skin again because it's a lengthy process. He refused, so I asked him for a partial refund, and he refused and said I had not made him aware that that zipper needed repair. When I originally brought it in, he marked the repair locations with a 1" piece of tape and I suspected the tape fell off in the several weeks it took him to work on it, but he wasn't having it. So his fee was $97 to repair two small holes and one zipper. I very calmly asked him if he was going to take care of a regular customer who paid for a repair he didn't preform. He looked at me in the eye, shook his head and said no. His attitude told me everything I needed to know about him and his business. I'm not into the cancel culture, but we'll take our business elsewhere.

I'm surprised by the negative reviews, I've been taking clothes here for a few years now and…read morethey're usually busy with customers coming and going. We haven't had any issues and appreciate how friendly everyone is. They remember my name, which says something about dedication to their customers, in my opinion. I highly recommend them for dry cleaning services.
