Specialties
Toddlers to Senior Citizens experience the Joy of dance in small, age group tailored classes.
Taught by highly trained and supportive teachers, our students develop social skills, discipline, goal-setting and self-care to better their future.
We offer Creative Dance classes from 18 months old; Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Contemporary for school aged children as well as Adult Ballet, Adult Tap, Dance Fitness, Seniors Ballet and Seniors Jazz.
Learning dance should always bring joy and be taught in a way to engage, excite and challenge the dancer. Dance teaching is not just about teaching steps to students, we believe it is about teaching sound technique in a safe and age appropriate way while nurturing the whole child; building self esteem, confidence, creativity and an understanding of how to take care of their bodies.
History
Established in 2016.
Seeing a need in the community to offer high quality dance tuition that did not require a large investment both financially and physically of parents, Prelude Dance Centre was established in 2016.
We strive to continue offering high quality dance education for the local community and are now partnering with PCYC Logan so families can experience the Joy of dance at a venue that is convenient and well equiped.
Meet the Business Owner: Kelly L.
Having loved dancing all her life, Kelly was a late starter beginning her first formal Jazz dance class at age 12. Being a fast learner, Kelly quickly moved through levels of Jazz and found great interest in a Variety of styles of dance including Ballet, Contemporary, Musical Theatre (Jazz and Tap) and Irish.
With the desire to share the world of dance with others, Kelly trained hard and was accepted into Queensland University of Technology and completed her Bachelor of Creative Industries (Dance)/Bachelor of Education (Secondary) in 2004. Kelly has taught a range of styles of dance over the last 20 years, within the High School sector and with Jane Grech Dance Centre in Adelaide where she had the privilege of teaching for 7 years and was the Principal for 4 years.
Kelly has continued her dance education studying two additional degrees and is an Affiliate member of ATOD. Kelly looks forward to continuing to share her passion for dance with students of all ages.
