Beware this place! I used to go here for most of my auto work... but they have changed ownership/mgmt. The last two times I have used this place (for simple oil changes) my 2016 Honda with low mileage was returned to me with new problems. Both times they didn't take responsibility but quickly offered to fix it (at regular cost). This last time the car was un-driveable! After heated discussion they agreed to diagnose the problem. They reported nothing wrong with the car (a miracle?). But when I Picked the car up, a second guy said they made adjustments. If nothing was wrong, as I was told, then why make adjustments?? There stories did add up. After two such experiences I speculate they are 'creating business' for themselves. If you use this shop.... consider yourself warned!! read more

At this franchisee shop, Stan & his crew really know how to take care of their customers. There are far and few auto shops in between that will accurately, and honestly, give you feedback on auto issues. This one really has that "good neighbor" feel to it. Who would have thought that an auto-mechanic would be capable of giving off anything other than a money-hungry vibe? I took my 2004 Saturn Ion here for oil changes initially, and recently began taking it back any car repairs. There's a convenient drop-off slot on the garage door for after hour drop-offs, and Stan takes the time to reassure his customers that the keys were received and notifies them of when they'll begin trouble-shooting the problem (if they haven't already done so). The team is friendly, professional, and trustworthy. They have my loyalty, and I fully recommend this shop. read more

Severna Park, Maryland - Precision Tune. This place is a joke. They gave me back a smoking, smelling, noisy mess of car. I paid them via credit card over the phone in good faith before I learned what a mess they created. My fault. Buyer beware. I learned that the original tech who worked on my car is no longer with them. Missing in action, just like some of the parts under my hood that they "lost". I have been without my vehicle going on 2 months, since my initial service -- And over $2000 in charges. They overheated my engine enough to crack an exhaust manifold. Oh, but they took care of the costs involved with that. What about any unseen damage from the severe overheating itself? The damage sometimes is only evident some time later, when you need a new engine. How hot did it get? Well... after running/driving vehicle overheating it so bad it would not run, AND after being towed to another PT location, the manger told me the catalytic converter arrived still glowing red. You tell me. Everybody know excessive heat kills engines. A Precision Tune regional manager has been involved with my case for the past month, trying to resolve what he can. I do appreciate it. But even so, I can not recommend any Precision Tune, and I will certainly never use them for anything again. There are many other horror stories reviews posted. . And somehow my reviews keep disappearing from Yelp. Interestingly, their reviews of themselves remain posted. It makes me wonder how many of the reviews I see, are even real customers. I would bet that the reviews that are "horrible" are ACTUAL customers, and the reviews that are "great" are their OWN employees. I know of one for a fact. An investigation would probably yield many, but who has time for all that? The only reason I learned it was because of bunch of problems after the fact, and after I paid them. You should not have to conduct a personal investigation in order to get accurate, honest automobile service. Better just avoiding Precision Tune altogether. Even if they have a Goupon for something cheap, I would advise against ever letting any Precision Tune ever touch any of your cars. read more

Terrible and expensive experience. Brought my car in to check out a front end shimmy and for an oil change. Got the oil change and they said they fixed the shimmy with 4 new tires and tie rod and was charged $977. Picked the car up and found that the shimmy was still there! ...Brought the car back and they couldn't tell me what really caused it ! They way over charged me for the tires (that was my fault for trusting them based on previous experience when they were under different management). The present manager is an 'it is what it is type of guy' with an excuse for everything, a small brain and matching business sense. DON'T GO HERE read more

DO NOT take your vehicle to this location. Took my car into the shop when the check engine light started blinking and my car wasn't accelerating. They claimed the car needed new plugs and wires, which they then preceded to charge me $600 for. The next day, sure enough, the check engine light came back on. Took it back to the shop and they said the catalytic converter needed to be replaced and wanted to charge me $1100 for it. In conclusion, they charged me $600 for things that did not need to be fixed, so that I could then come back and have them try to rip me off again for $1100. All of the parts actually cost less than $250 total - and had I known anything about cars and the terrible people that work at this establishment, I would have never gone there. read more

I visited Precision Tune in Severna Park on April 18th, I was scheduled to come in for a transmission flush but found out it could not be done because of the special tool needed for my car. Wayne the manger was so great in assisting me with this, not only was they prompt with my appointment the service was excellent. I could not get the transmission flush but was able to get the other services I needed. Wayne showed great customer service while I waited and also helped me with other options to get my transmission flushed. THANK YOU for the great service Wayne. I took my car in because it was having problems starting. I determined that it was the altenator.The guy at Precision Tune ran a diagostic and told me it was the battery that didn't make sense to me and asked repeatedly if he they were sure it wasnt the altenator. So 3 days and $200 later im stuck in a parking lot because.... my new battery is dead, because my altenator isnt charging it and now I can't get the car to start. I called Precision just now and was told that I would need to get the car towed to the shop to take a look. now they want me to spend more money to have the car towed, pay for another diagnostic, and pay for a rental, so they can figure out that my altenator is bad. Why couldn't you have fixed the damn altenator when I said so. This place is a waste of time and money. read more

I had a groupon for 3 oil changes at this location. Each time I called for an appointment to make sure they could fit me in. Despite this, it always took them at least an hour to complete the oil change. If I was a walk-in I would understand, but it seemed like the fact that I made an appointment didn't make any difference. During the first visit they recommended having my power steering fluid flushed. I talked to other mechanics and did some research. The procedure is extremely simple and unnecessary in almost all cases (some would argue always). It is usually a way to pad the bill. Something else happened during a visit that left an uneasy feeling in my stomach. A woman came in irate because they had serviced her car less than a month ago and it was having the same problem. She took it to her dealership where they identified the problem, but of course she didn't want to pay to have it fixed again. She brought the dealership paperwork to the shop and showed it to the person at the front desk, who said they were trying to bilk her out of money. Strange, considering that the problem persisted after they supposedly fixed it. From the sounds of the conversation, it seemed like this had been an ongoing problem with the lady and the shop for somewhere between 4 and 6 months. I don't know if it was ever resolved, but she was told to come back later so they could fix it again. If they didn't fix it correctly the first, second, or possibly even the third time, I'm guessing she said "forget it" and didn't come back. read more

Treated horribly. With my daughter present. Two days ago i called to make an appt to have my car looked at. My check engine light was on and i thought maybe a tune up would fix it. The nice gentleman on the phone explained that a far cheaper service may do the job. A type of cleaning. Either way he explained they would diagnose the problem for free and we'll go from there. So as i pulled into the service center this morning i noticed the signs indicating a free engine check. That was the end of my good experience. The man i checked in with was incredibly rude. When i gave my name and why i was there he did not even look at me. I felt as if i was bothering him. He practically laughed at my face when i was told a system cleaning may correct my problem. He said he would call me in a few hours. I asked him not to do anything that would cost money until we spoke again. He said ok. He called 3 hours later telling me it would be six hundred to fix my car. No thank you i said and told him ill be there shortly to pick up the car. My daughter and myself were dropped off at precision tune to retrieve my car. I was promptly handed a bill for fifty three dollars. I was told that was for their time. I pointed out the sign for the free service as well as refered to the phone call. "I don't give a f**k about the sign you owe this amount" he shouted at me, right in front of my daughter. After he cursed and weakly explained how i magically owed him money i told him i brought no form of payment as i expected to not have a charge. The clerk slammed my key on the counter and demanded i get the **** out of his sight , again inches away from my now scared daughter. I took my key and left before my daughter witnessed anything else. Also the free engine check sign was missing mysteriously two hours later. We all know about bait n switch especially with auto repair. But this was flat out criminal,traumatic to my daughter, and incomprehensible no matter how much i try and understand what this man tried to do. Never will i get near or recommend precision tune. my experience with this business was a total nightmare. I made an appointment and took my 2002 VW Passat in for an oil change. I waited over an hour for my car. While waiting the manager, Wayne Danielczyk informed me that I had an oil leak and that some belts needed to be replaced. The price quote was$ 400.00 and that was to replace the belts and find the cause of the oil leak. I said I only wanted the oil change today. I paid and drove towards my home. About 3 miles down the road the oil pressure light began flashing and told me to turn off the engine. I called the shop and was told they would send a technician to check out the problem. I sat in a parking lot for about an hour waiting. When he arrived he could find no problem and said I should have the car towed back to the shop. I called the tow service that they work with and arranged to have the car towed later that evening. I got a ride to my home and assumed they would have the car and be able to find the problem in the AM. When I called in the morning they had not received my car. I was informed that they assumed I had taken it elsewhere. The manager said I should call the tow service and find out what went wrong. At this point I became a little annoyed and suggested that since this is a company he works with that he should take care of it. He reluctantly agreed and assured me he would look at my car as soon as it arrive. When he finally got back to me he informed me that the problem was that 3 of the spark plugs had blown out and the oil was not properly being pumped into the engine. He said it was a coincident that it happened right after the oil change and they had done nothing wrong and it would cost around $300.00 for a tune up. I was also informed that since this was not their fault that I was responsible for paying the $85.00 tow charge. Needless to say, I failed to understand why my car was running fine when I arrived. I also know that they had the car for several hours, giving them the opportunity to cover their error. I told him not to touch the car and that I was going to have another mechanic pick up the car. I was informed he would not release the car until the tow bill was paid.I had to get someone to drive me to the shop and when confronted about the tow charge he reluctantly waived the charge. He was however extremely rude and combative, even going to the extreme of blaming the problem on me for "not properly maintaining my car." When I asked for the name and phone number of his manager, he refused to give me his business number. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO RUDLY IN MY LIFE! To make a long story short...my mechanic said there was nothing wrong with the sparkplugs and that the oil was over filled. He thought that possibly dirt or old oil had gotten into the oil causing it to not filter it properly to get to the engine. He suspected that something was not done correctly when the oil was changed. My car was running fine when I arrived a Prescion Tune. In addition to the cost of the oil change, this also cost me an additional $175.00 to pay my mechanic and additional tow fees. To make the situation even worse, I was without a car for 4 days during Christmas week. I would like this company to compensate me and plan to pursue this issue. read more

I brought my Toyota Corolla to this location for several years and put thousands of dollars in the car over that time. For quite some time, I went to the Severna Park Precision Tune under the management of a person called Lane who was excellent. Unfortunately, Lane got promoted and they brought a new manager called Wayne. The Severna Park Precision Tune replaced all four of the wheel bearings on my Corolla. Loud noise was still generated from the car shortly after having them replaced and I brought it in and they indicated it was my tires and not to worry (this was while under the two year warranty). I came back again after multiple recommendations from other mechanics indicating it was faulty wheel bearings. This time they replaced them after I fought tooth and nail with the regional manager named Gene (as now I was conveniently out of warranty by a couple months). During the second wheel bearing replacement, they bent the heat shield surrounding the break rotors. I left and had to drive back because of the intense scraping. I missed work the following day because of it. They attempted to bend it back but they failed to do so. I brought it to a Goodyear as I recently moved to York PA. The Goodyear fixed the bent heat shield and also indicated that my front passenger side wheel bearing needed to be replaced again. I called and complained to Gene again and this time I went to the Hanover location. I left with the car continuing to make the noise and they indicated again it was the tires (They sold me the tires which they subsequently claimed are cheap although they were a good brand two years prior). Gene said he looked at the car himself and would have recommended it to his family. Less than 7K miles later, the car is incredibly loud and has begun to shake intensely at high speeds. I brought it back to the Goodyear I went to previously and they indicated that the front wheel bearing was out. I am paying them to replace it and will be pursuing getting a refund from Precision Tune and weighing my legal options if a refund is not granted. Wheel bearings can become very dangerous and the Goodyear indicated that potentially because of Precision Tune's poor service, the hubs may have been worn, which are quite expensive (two or three hundred bucks depending on the brand per wheel). If the hubs wear enough, it can grind against the axel and essentially ruin your car. I would avoid this chain at all cost. The prices are cheap for a reason and it is because the technicians lack the knowledge to accomplish any complicated tasks of an aging car. I would not venture beyond an oil change at these mechanics. read more

You are absolutely the worst car repair place ever. We took our truck to you last summer to get the power steering rack replaced. You did so, at great cost, but failed to properly tighten the lug nuts to one of the tires. That tire fell off while driving, luckily at a slow rate otherwise people could have died, due to the lug nuts sheering and snapping off. Due to the fact that it had been a month since we took the car out of your shop, you told us that you hadn't done anything wrong, that we must have loosened the lug nuts on our own. So we paid out of pocket to fix the damage done by the carelessness of your employees. You replaced the tire rods, wheel bearings, and suspension. We took the truck to get it aligned elsewhere, because your store couldn't handle it. The other store told us that the bolts on the power steering rack hadn't been properly tightened, which you guys again being the source of, luckily they were able to complete the job you were supposed to do before any more damage occurred. Now we find out that the tire rods weren't installed properly (left loose, imagine that) and it is going to cost us another $1500 to fix your mistakes. Again. read more

As a college student you are always pinching for pennies and look for ways to save. On my way home, a sign thrower caught my attention with his sign that says, "$16.99 Oil Changes"! I say this is exactly what I need, and the price matches. So I go into Precision Auto to get my oil changed. When I enter I am greeted by an older gentleman with a rusty voice. He takes my information, and says it'll be about 20mins. I said, "great,I'll wait here". Once they completed my oil change, they told me I should come and check out a leak that they found, which they believed it to be Power steering. I asked if they could write down the information and I'll have it checked out later. Fast Forward, today, as I am traveling to work on interstate 95N, I heard a rattle, and a crack, and BOOOM! My entire tire flew off of my vehicle, and across the highway, I lost control of my car, as I am riding on 3 wheels and an sparkling axle. My angels lead me to safety on the side of the shoulder, and was able to bring my car under control. I nearly could have lost my life today, on such a busy intestate and at the speed limit (55mph). I towed my vehicle to my trustworthy mechanic who, immediately said I was lucky and upon working on my damaged car, he immediately noticed a malfunction with the tire(that flew off on 95). He said the bolts were missing, as if someone took them off. He began to question whether I had recent work done. I mentioned the oil change, he said again, that something wasn't done correctly and isn't right. I don't know what imbecile, incompetent, so called auto repair shop/facility you call yourselves but an investigation needs to be done, ASAP. As I read through other reviews, it's alarming because I am not the first (and sadly probably not the last) customer who experienced such a tragedy. This is not something you can just sweep under the carpet. I plan on taking legal action against Precision Auto in Severna Park (off Richie Hwy)!!!!! Lives are at stake. read more

I used to love this place. Good prices and everybody was always nice. The other day I was looking online for the number so I could schedule my car to be serviced and I happen to check out the reviews and some people said they had issues with the lug nuts not being tightened which led to major damage. I didn't think much of it because I've never had an issue myself so I went ahead and had my car serviced and everything seemed fine. Right afterwards I stopped somewhere and those reviews were floating in my head so I checked the lug nuts to be safe and to my surprise, multiple lug nuts where loose. Luckily I checked and took care of it myself but that's unacceptable. How could someone think that's okay, and now I question what else they half assed. I've been to Jiffy Lube, Monro, Valvoline, you name it, and they have all had bad service or way overpriced. I finally thought I found the perfect spot but I will not be returning after this, I'd rather service it myself. read more
