They try to take advantage of women who come in alone. I normally go here for the usual maintenance and whenever I go in alone they try to charge me more for the same maintenance they give me when a man comes in with me, even though it is the same routine. I came in this morning for a basic routine with tire rotation, but the employee who was assisting today was saying I needed to pay $450 for the basic routine, when I'm normally charge 95-100. When I pointed it out they tried to say I need 20 LUGNUTS for $10 EACH in order for them to do my tire rotation, when the last employee who helped me only said I need 8. Shame on this shop for trying to take advantage of women, at least I didn't buy into him but I feel sorry for any women that has been taken advantage of.... read more

Have a '15 Sentra, it had a couple of problems (wiring problem and rattling noise under the car), and a check engine light with a couple codes. The process in getting my car fixed could not have been smoother. The person I spoke to on the phone (Matthew) was very friendly. He was able to accept my car the same day, and it was fixed the following early afternoon - when promised. The charge for the same repair three years prior was the same as I paid in Carson City, NV. I expected to pay much more since this is San Jose. This was a pleasant surprise. Finally, I was informed there was a piece of my exhaust system becoming unattached, which they fixed at no charge. I hope my car breaks again soon so I can take it back to these guys. read more

I took my car in for to check my brakes because i have 84k miles already and have oil change, radiator flush, transmission flush. They did all the services and had to replace my brake pads in back but now i feel safer. The prices are a bit higher now but i guess that is happening with all services these days. Very poor quality/unethical business. My car battery died and needed a jump- the tow guy said I needed to bring it in for a replacement battery so I took it here. I paid $170 for a new battery and installation and thought it was resolved. Two days later, my car battery dies again and I call the same towing. They pop the hood and see that the "new" battery that was just installed in my car was in fact an old battery that was only reading 94 out of 450. So I paid $170 to Precision Auto Tune to buy and have an old battery installed. They refunded the $170 when I went in to figure out what happened, but I cannot trust this place now. I explained that their mistake caused me to miss work (no income for me today) and just got "sorry". Absolutely no effort or intention of wanting to make restitution for the problem they caused. I used to get my oil regularly changed here, but now I question if I can even trust that. Don't subject yourself to this business, there are better and more reliable ones in the area. read more

My family members have been bringing our cars here since years and years. Our main contact person was always Jerry. Jerry retired, but Carlos also knows my family members. So, when I need something done for my car. I ask for Carlos. Lately my breaks have been squeaking, and I needed an oil change (Nissan Versa Sedan so synthetic oil only). The mechanic did the oil change. And the manager informed me my breaks don't need to be replaced, yet. So I called around and the owner picks up. I ask how much for an oil change? He says $21.95. I told him I have a coupon. He said, ok ... minus $4. So that leads me to believe my price will be $21.95 - 4.00... NOT. Anyways, i drive there and ask him how long it'll take. He said, well since it's lunch hour, no one is here. It'll take an hour for your oil change. Reluctantly I gave him my keys. An hour goes by and still not done. It took them 1 hr 45 mins to get it together. I was freakin gone for 2 hr 10 min for an oil change lunch hour! On top of that, they did not know how to drive my MX-5. Granted it's a manual car but they couldn't get in reverse, over revved, all that stuff. For heavens sake, what guy doesn't know how to drive a lightweight stick shift car! The Chinese owner wasn't friendly. He was just straight talk, down to business. Give me a smile for heavens sake! The white guy, employee, wasn't very nice to the Indian lady customer either. Who knows, maybe they are all overworked... but that's not an excuse. My boss would not tolerate if I had a sour attitude b/c I was overworked. Anyways, I've experienced WAY better service. So much for my 15 minute oil change during lunch hour. I hear they are inconsistent with service. I'm totally going back to my mechanic for my other car. read more

My car started to make a clunky "click click click" sound as I was driving and more so over bumps. Unsurprisingly, a piece of metal (or was it plastic) was sticking out that Honda's have. Carlos took a quick look at it and told me that it could be easily removed free of charge and informed me that I don't need it to operate my vehicle, which put my mind at ease. Been taking my car and my wife's car here for regular maintenance (oil changes & transmission) for past few years. This place does an excellent job and makes me feel right at home. Nothing too fancy or flashy, just friendly honest professional service with very reasonable pricing. They don't tell you that everything needs replacing like some other spots I've gone to. They don't take appointments so there may be a wait, but I usually try to go around 3 or 4pm on a weekday and have no problem. This WAS our go to place for my family unfortunately up until a few weeks ago. We brought in our car for diagnosis of a check engine light as we have done before. Signed the diagnosis fee contract, explained to the mechanic no work needed to be done and left. A few hours passed and we got a call that they needed more time to find out the problem as the shop closed in an hour. We were asked if we wanted to pick up the vehicle and take back the next day or leave the vehicle and they would call when diagnosis was done. We left the vehicle over night and received a call back the next afternoon that the diagnosis was done and car was ready for pick up. We went in to pick up vehicle and get diagnosis. We were met by a man who later identified himself as the owner of the shop( forgot his name.. i think Jerry, Asian man) proceeded to get the receipt and diagnosis and go over what engine codes were found. He proceeded to tell us that the fee went from $60 something dollars to $300 something dollars due to the labor they did while doing the diagnosis?!? Refusing to pay this amount that WAS NOT AGREED upon turned out to be an argument in the shop and in front of another customer. The "owner" was VERY rude, kept interrupting and talking over us loudly and tried to say he called and explained all the extra fees the day before when they notified us they needed more time. He absolutely DID NOT....we would 100% refuse that service as we ONLY requested a diagnosis and NOT a tare down of the engine as we later found out he did. He stated that he wrote down everything he did on the receipt including the price he was charging as he went over the info with us on the phone the previous day. When we asked to see the notes and receipt there was no total price in his notes, only 1.5 hours he spent on the tare down. He refused to give us the keys to the car unless the fee was paid. The Cops were called to make a report but did not show up in time before HE (owner) repeatedly argued that he felt "unappreciated" that we were arguing the cost... after 20-30 minutes of waiting and arguing he finally agreed to allow us to pay the diagnosis fee we signed for and agreed to initially. We were very surprised, irritated and upset this happened as we take 3 of our family cars there for different services over the last couple of years with no issues. We definitely will not be back and advise anyone who gets their car serviced there that you get in writing and sign for what they are doing with your vehicle to prevent this happening to you. Rude and obnoxious auto shop owners do not deserve your service especially since there is no-one above him to report this to. Other staff at the shop have always been very friendly and helpful, not sure what was up with the owner that day but he ruined it for us. read more

Update 9-13-16 My car was very low on oil and brought it in to get checked out and it's normal oil change. They got me in quick, found the issue and resolved it right away!! They also found a nail in my tire that I didn't know about and took care of it for me!! This place has my business for the rest of my life! Update 6-23-16 What can I say except I still love this place! Brought in my car for a regular oil change and the guy who fixed my ac actually remember me and our conversations from over a month ago! If you want to get your time wasted this is the place to do it they had my car for a week! I brought my nissan Sentra in to get it fixed from a misfire and instead they are changing things that weren't broken. They changed the thermostat and a coil that was still good and they charged me for the unnecessary parts. On top of that they burnt out a brand new catalytic converter i had just bought it cost me $560. I had brought my car running rough got it back dead shout out to john the mechanic for also giving it back to me with bolts missing. After i realized it was missing bolts it took them almost a whole week to return the bolts to me. Not to mention they had the audacity to charge me $340 to make my car worse. read more

My review is about 5 years late, but I really need to share my experience. In the past I had a 2005 Chrysler 300C. I took my car for an oil change and was told that I needed new spark plugs. The technician told me that the engine needed 4 spark plugs per cylinder. Since my car had a HEMI engine that had 8 cylinders, that would be a total of 32 spark plugs to replace. I was quoted a ridiculously high service charge of $600 - $800. I didn't change the spark plugs since I was just trying to get the car ready for a trade in. I don't have my 300C anymore, but I was curious about the car I gave up and looked up maintenance procedures for the car. I learned that a 2005 Chrysler 300C with a HEMI engine only had 2 spark plugs per cylinder. I was shocked when I learned that this place was going to charge me for twice the parts and labor. Before coming here, educate yourself about the maintenance procedures for your car. You may not actually do your own work on your car, but learn enough so these guys can't rip you off. read more

My wife brought her Mazda 3 for an oil change today after we received a discount coupon in the mail during the weekend She chose middle priced option available on the coupon, which cost $22.95. (there are three options available on the coupon with different services) Then the mechanic told her that her car needed some special oil (something like 5w20) that required an additional $5.28 charge. She said fine and proceeded with the work. After waiting for about 30 mins, the mechanic came back and said the work was done. Then he went on to say her car's oil filter would cost an additional $13.95. My wife was in shock that why the mechanic did not tell her beforehand the filter would cost more? The work was done and I mean, what could she do now? Refuse to pay and let them take the filter off??? It was extremely poor communications and we were suspecting they were ripping off people with this unethical practice. At the end, the oil change cost $42.59. It is far more expensive than taking it to a Mazda dealer and 2 times more than an oil change at a Firestone store 6 months ago. More imporantly, the final price is about 2 times more than the coupon price (and we did not ask for additional services)....Can I say deceptive ad practices??? We would never come back again and will file a report with BBB to report this kind of practice. read more

Went there for a smog check. They purposely went ahead and charged me for the service full well knowing that I would fail. My check engine light was on yet they just went ahead with the service. As a courtesy to the customer they should have informed me prior to doing the test. They didn't and just took the money and ran. I won't be back. I trust my car with them because I have to because they know my car and if it their fault for anything that I would glady have a problem with. I got the Prem and Jerry automatic give me a discount without the coupon so it is cool. I didn't get the tire rotation but will get it next time. I recommend yelpers to come here and get your discounts with the owner, Jerry. I could give them a negative star but not going to just because they didn't have coffee that that day.
