I recently brought a small job to Precision Tooling (bolt broken off inside one end of a large shaft). I left it to have the broken piece removed. The original bolt was sealed with Loktite by the manufacturer, so it wasn't easy to remove the broken piece (and the end of the bolt was deep inside the shaft, not accessible).
When it was ready, I came to pick it up -- I asked how much I owed... answer: "no charge." (!!!) I said, "Really? Come on, you have to charge something." -- "No," he said, "it only took a few minutes."
This is the kind of business philosophy everyone should have... charge a fair price (or nothing if it's quick and easy)... success will come, your reputation will grow, you generate a loyal customer base, and make your profit on the large jobs that justify higher fees.
I hope everyone who needs a good machine shop will support Precision Tooling in Fountain Valley! Good work, by Quality people. read more
