I have been a client of this practice for several years. Everything had gone smoothly until this…read moreyear. I sent in all of my paperwork by March 19th, just after their deadline to have taxes submitted by April 15. No problem, they filed an extension for me. I followed up in April, and again in July to check on status... and received no reply. I called later in July, to see if I could speak with Alice (our accountant at the firm) directly. I tried a few times to reach her and on August 27 received an email informing me that Alice was no longer with the firm but that Ami would be handling our taxes. There was no other notice - not a note from Alice letting us know she was leaving, nor any sort of apology for the long lapse in communication. Ami then did our taxes and sent a link to review them. The numbers looked good, but she messed up the names on the return. I reached out to have her fix them. Silence. After multiple attempts, I finally got someone who was able to fix the names. I went to review the return and the refund amounts were now different by several thousand dollars. I politely inquired and was told this is due to a 529 plan distribution which they had somehow forgotten to include when they did the taxes earlier. They didn't have any receipts for offsetting expenses, so assumed there were none, and didn't bother to ask. It took a few tries to get that fixed, but they did. They then tried to submit my taxes electronically, but they input the wrong PIN numbers. The correct PINs were in the initial correspondence that I had sent them that included all of my relevant tax information. They were called out in a separate paragraph of my cover letter to the accountant. I re-provided the PINs over the phone and the IRS accepted the files, so I'm now hoping that it's all good. I am not a happy customer. I pay an accountant to do my taxes because they're supposed to keep things straight. In fact, the normal process to institute an internal controls program in any business is to hire accountants to make sure that things are properly - what's the word? oh... yeah... - accounted for. This firm couldn't communicate what was happening with their internal processes, and then made careless mistakes and oversights, and couldn't communicate with me about my taxes. And for the record - we had a mess of deductions, and the amount of the refund was sufficient that each month our tax filing was delayed cost us roughly $300 in interest. I've not seen any offer of recompense. I'm definitely not trusting this firm with my accounting going forward.

The CPA practice has transitioned from a small number of people working in the Rockville office to an expanded practice under the umbrella of George Dimov, located in New York City. Throughout the transition, when we have had a question or concern, someone has always responded in a timely and positive way. Some of our investment statements are always delivered late in the first quarter. Usually, Watter CPA has been able to upload all our data except those pieces, so that they could be entered quickly, allowing us to file by April 15. When that last investment data is delivered to us too late, Watter CPA smoothly files an extension for us. The Rockville staff is courteous and efficient. Courtland (in the front office) knows us as returned clients and we are totally comfortable trusting her to follow through with any and every communication. This year was the first time that Mitchell prepared our taxes and it was clear that he understood our rather complicated income tax profile, expertly applying every credit we could have and taking the time to clearly explain the answers to every question. We are very happy to recommend Watter CPA/George Dimov Tax Service, and we look forward to continuing with them in future years. Larry & Nita Vorisek

Kallie Crawford of Krum Gergely represented me. She didn't use scare tactics or extremism like other consultations. And she seemed to really understand my circumstance. 3) The retainer cost was also the most competitive by far! Throughout the process (pre court), her team was responsive by text and email, including remainders on court date and traffic school recommendation, which I greatly appreciated. They seemed really on top of it and available. Most importantly, the day of my traffic hearing she was really proactive and aggressive in handling the process. She negotiated with all parties and then represented me to the judge as well. She made sure the terms worked for me. I didn't have to face the judge, prosecutor or witness. She handled everything. The entire process literally took about 20 minutes and I was on my way with the most favorable outcome. Super efficient and stress free process, after months of worrying about the outcome. I wished I had hired her earlier on. Overall I would rate the experience 10/10 and could not recommend them more!!! So very grateful and eternally thankful!!! I couldn't be happier with the services offered. Highly highly recommend.

Upon assuming this…read moreresponsibility, I discovered that she had failed to file federal or state income taxes for a period of six years. During this time, she sold her primary residence and moved her residence from California to Virginia. In attempting to resolve this tax problem, I contacted two CPAs. One absolutely refused to involve himself in the matter, and the second ghosted me after our initial consultation where I described my issue. Aris X. Hart, Esq., and Safeguard Law quickly and professionally untangled this very complex tax situation for me. In accomplishing this goal, Aris and his team contacted the Social Security Administration to obtain several SSA-1099s, and several other entities to secure 1099-Rs, 1099-INTs and 1099-DIVs issued during this six-year period to develop a complete picture of my mother's tax situation. Aris and his team also contacted county records in California to develop a complete picture of the sale of my mother's primary residence in California. At the end of the day, Aris prepared thirteen state and federal returns. Throughout this work, Aris was extremely professional and regularly updated me on his progress in untangling my mother's tax problems. He demonstrated compassion, painstaking attention to detail, and was clearly motivated to help me in any way possible. As a result, I can without hesitation provide Aris with my highest recommendation. I look forward to working with him in the future.

I spent way more time and effort to select my divorce lawyer than I ever did to choose my (now ex)…read morehusband. I did extensive online research. I read tons of testimonials. I even listened to divorce podcasts and took notes. On paper, Geraldine Hess stood out among the other divorce lawyers I considered because she is Fellow of the Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), and her practice is 100% focused on family law. In practice, Geraldine Hess ended up being an advocate I could TRUST to help me navigate through one of the worst times in my life. I liked working with Geraldine because she was always tactful and professional, but at the same time, she never sugar coated anything or tip toed around difficult things that needed to be said or done. I loved that she was so straightforward and honest, while also being fair and kind. I also really appreciated how tough Geraldine was, both mentally and emotionally. I don't mean that she was a junk yard bull dog with a spiked collar and a loud bark. I mean that nothing surprised her or shocked her or threw her off her game. If my husband had set himself on fire while on the witness stand, Geraldine would probably have to stifle a yawn. Beyond that, Geraldine was organized, reliable, and responsive, as were her assistants. She ran a tight ship, and I knew that she would never let anything fall through the cracks. During my divorce, I ended up needing a criminal lawyer and then a contract lawyer. Geraldine referred me to two excellent attorneys who were both trustworthy and excellent in their fields. Geraldine Hess has my highest recommendation. I hope never to get divorced again, but if I did, I would call Geraldine right away.

She was keenly aware of how to specifically negotiate with the other party, and was tough when necessary. She was always mindful of what was in the best interest of my children. The rates for Hess Family Law were very reasonable. I was apprised of what the possible expenses could be when facing different choices on course of action. I highly recommend Hess Family Law.
