My daughter's car's engine light came on and she is attending Lake Superior State University some…read more350 miles from home. Being a father this was very concerning due to the fact I couldn't check it out myself and I know very little of the area in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. So I went on the internet and found some reviews that were recommending Storey Automotive while my daughter also asked a couple of locals where to take the car. Both of them highly recommended Storey also. You know the old saying when in Rome go where the locals go. Boy oh boy was that the correct thing to do. I am disabled so making that trip and to haul my tools that I have just to look at the car was out of the question, so my daughter made the appointment so she could drop off the car in between classes and we braced ourselves for a repair bill that frankly we couldn't really afford but I had to know my daughter had to have reliable transportation because breaking down where sometimes you might be 20 miles or more from cell service or people and temperatures that go down to -40 or more with winter coming soon isn't an option. Well thank God it turned out to be an emissions code that had no bearing on the car's reliability whatsoever. (Later we replaced the gas cap because a friend said he had the same thing happen and it seems to have fixed the issue). But when I called up to Storey to pay whatever she owed him for his work in diagnosing the car and making sure her car wasn't going to leave her stranded, I was promptly told she owed them ZERO! I believe the man's name is John if memory serves told me he doesn't charge for little things like that and he especially not charging college kids for something that took him 5 mins to check out and make sure they were safe. Now I have on many occasions been accused of being over protective and very anal about making sure my girls cars are as perfect as we can make them, so I was really concerned ove rthe check engine light. But when I talked to John he assured me everything was fine and on older cars even though it only has 47k miles on it will occasionally have small things pop up with emission codes that mean nothing to the cars ability to run right and if she had anymore issues with it coming back on to have her stop in and he would take care of it. I don't know if John knows what it means to a parent whose kids is 350 miles from home for the first time. Especially a young lady to have someone that will make sure their vehicle is in safe and sound condition and also not try to take advantage of a young lady who knows very little about cars except put gas in it and check the tires and oil or her parents that can't be there to look after things. Then to hear a Automotive repair guy say no charge if she has any more trouble or any questions about the car just have her stop in and I will check it out and let her know what's what. That to me is priceless!! His advertisement says family owned and I absolutely believe that the they should change it to become part of their family because they treated my daughter as if she was their daughter. Thank You Everyone at Storey Automotive, for being there for my daughter when I can't be. Also if your ever down state in the Tri City Area and need help look me up I absolutely owe you one.

Will never recommend Pine Ridge towing. Had an issue on the hwy the other day with my vehicle…read more Called CAA. Made the phone call at 3:05 pm. Pine Ridge contacted us at 3:35 pm and stated they would dispatch a driver ASAP. Kept receiving text messages that a truck would be there soon. We were about 150km from home. A truck finally showed up at 6:40 pm after many calls from the CAA agent. First comment from the driver was a rude comment about my vehicle. Finally get on the highway after being stranded for almost 4 hours. Driver had to clear a spot in the back seat for a passenger (as there were 2 of us) to sit on but never bothered to dig out the seat belts. 1 of the passengers rode back to the city with no seat belt. The driver was texting and making phone calls and NOT paying attention to the road. He almost went off the hwy multiple times due to him paying more attention to his phone and not the road. If the driver felt that someone was driving behind him with highbeams on (which they weren't) he would either flash them or turn on his load up lights and blind them. The whole trip back he either texted, made phone calls or searched his photo gallery on his phone (we do have video of the driver doing this). This driver was more involved with his phone then actually driving and doing the speed limit (never got up to actual speed limit)
