This is a truly historic building snuggled deep in the wilds off the Kennebec River with a wonderful staff of volunteers to bring to life. Visit the courthouse cemetery, and immerse yourself in the experience. We attended the "ghost walk," again carried out by wonderful volunteers. Wow! I will be back. This spot is Wonderful for the history buffs out there! Come enjoy a day at the courthouse. It is very cool, nice wildlife too! I took some time to enjoy the early spring here on the Kennebec River! I sat on each bench and enjoyed the solitude and oneness with history and nature. It was a pleasant experience. I walked a bit of the trail, but realized it was too early to really enjoy the entire length due to the extreme wetness. I would rather let the locals chew it up ;-) I will be back this summer is the 255 year anniversary of this early American site! Please pick up after yourself!
