I was referred to BML by the relative of a current partner of this firm. A relative I also happen…read moreto employ. So I thought that hiring this firm to handle my tax returns was a no brainer. Unfortunately, that faith was misplaced. For the incredibly high prices they charge for not only their work on the returns but subsequent invoices for consultation (which is no more than a 5 min phone call or email) their followup was poor. I would send emails that would receive no reply for weeks at a time. They did not provide full transparency as to what they were doing to actually help me save money on my taxes. I had to come up with my own ideas. All they did was send me emails instructing me how much to pay. There was only 1 instance in which the partner wanted to connect with me to talk about my business but it was at the behest of his schedule and again, the followup was awful. We never had that conversation. As a small business owner, I rely on my vendors to keep me in the loop, reply with some sense of urgency and work with me to save money. I was not looking for special treatment just because this firms partners brother in law happens to work for me. I am saying that just as a regular client I did not feel valued. Over the course of this past year I have dealt with several vendors who have a habit of treating clients like they work for them, not the other way around. When a vendor/firm treats me like that, I terminate their services, which is what I did with BML. (And by the way, when I told them this, the reply was completely apathetic.) I now work with a firm that provides the same services, only they also do my bookkeeping, optimize my tax savings and they do it for a flat monthly rate equaling about 65% less than this firm charges. If you are a wealthy client who does not care about any of the things I mentioned here, by all means go with BML. If you are a small business owner looking to optimize your tax savings and care about being treated with some measure of regard, keep shopping around.

They have always had good advise, have gone out of their way to make my job easy, and I feel like they have also been very good about maximizing allowable deductions while staying ethical. I have also had to call on them on several occasions for various reports with little notice, and they always come through, getting me what I need on time and with no complaints.
