I love Powertrain's boot camp classes. They are intense and you really get results! It's also unbelievably cost effective!

Victory Sports is great for people of all training levels; they specialize in geriatric and high…read moreschool training, but it's also a surprisingly comfortable place for the average gym-goer (like me lol) At first I was intimidated by the fact that they requested a one-on-one meeting after signing up for a membership, but it turns out that it was hugely helpful - the co-owner (unfortunately can't remember her name) went into detail about the equipment offered, opportunity for trying new group classes, and also having a personal assessment to better gauge your needs and desires and allowing you personal training (if you want it!) The facility offers a good variety of equipment - the right side is the "grunter side" with lifting equipment and a green turf area for athletic training. The right side is geared towards cardio and machine weight training, with ample space for stretching and free weights as well. There are locker (and shower!) facilities for men and women, and each time I've been, I've been impressed by how clean it is and how often I see someone cleaning or checking up. Overall, a very friendly facility that is as personal as you want/need it to be, with great staff, amenities, and equipment. Highly recommend you at least come in to check it out if you're looking for a gym in the area!

Everyone is focused on improving themselves and being motivational and kind towards others. I've been working out with Scott Everhart now for almost a year and he is by far the best thing i could have done to physically improve myself! Great trainer who always is willing to go the extra mile for his clients! He wanrted to see first hand what goes into the sport i do to help train me better. So, instead of researching it on the computer he hopped in the truck with us one weekend and spent an entire day (6am-8pm) with my dad and I in New York! If thats not dedication, I don't know what is! I would highly recommend going in and asking for Scott to help you with whatever your goals are physically! He will help you reach and surpass them!!

With a background in nutrition as a Registered Dietitian, I did not think I could find a career that could combine my passion for fitness, nutrition, and helping others until I found One on One. One on One not only taught me to become a proficient fitness professional, but also a better communicator, a stronger leader, and a more values-driven individual. These skills have helped me in all aspects of my life. Combine this with a community of amazing team members and clients alike, and One on One exceeds my expectations as a workplace. I count myself as lucky to be a member of this team. After having a baby and moving across the country, I have still found a way to rejoin the team, which speaks to how highly I regard One on One. One on One's Spirit of Caring--which permeates everything they do from event planning to personal development to client interactions to employee benefits--is unmatched. It is what keeps me a part of this team and without a doubt what keeps our clients with us for decades. After being a part of One on One for over 4 years and seeing almost all aspects of the business, I can say that this Spirit of Caring runs deep. I am proud to be a part of the One on One community, and I am deeply appreciative for all that they have provided to me over the years.

No mention of it being closing time, just lights off, time to go! On my way out, I asked him, "Do you have somewhere to be?" & that he "shouldn't turn the lights out with customers still inside." His response- "It's 9 o'clock." Which I responded, "Are you the owner?" & he responded "Yes." If this is the case, that the OWNER doesn't care about his customer's experience, I will for sure be taking my business elsewhere. I'm not sure where he was taught that his schedule getting out of work was more important than the paying customer's experience. As somebody who has worked in customer service my entire adult life (not to mention at this same gym 7 years ago), that's a foreign concept to me. As a manager or GM, if I found out my employees were putting themselves above the customers in this way, they'd be written up or let go. My advice? Do better. The BARE MINIMUM is you wait to close until everyone is gone. & if it gets to be 5-10mins after, you politely let the customers know you are closed & need to start closing. Customer Service 101, Day 1. If management, or (apparently) ownership encourages this type of customer service, it's no wonder places like Crunch Fitness & Victory Sports have taken what looks to be most of the business from East Coast.

It costs only $5 more per month and offers a variety of activities and (free) courses; take advantage of the pools, rock climbing walls, yoga sessions, basketball and volleyball courts etc. It has much more of a community feel to it, to boot. Plus, I think we can all agree on the fact that Hamilton Plaza -- for some reason or another -- has become a rather depressing spot nowadays...am I right, or am I right?

Let me start my saying that the only shape I'm in is round(ish) - if that qualifies as a shape. I'm…read moreaiming to change that. I've enjoyed perusing far too many beer and food establishments, and while I'm not huge I'd get a "runners high" going up a flight of stairs or hoping on my bicycle and going around the block. So, does this make me qualified to know what a five star gym is? Not necessarily. But I do know what five-star people are, and the owner Bryan and crew at CrossFit Nittany hit that mark. I've tried going to a standard gym before, but the lack of structure and non-interaction with a coach made it really easy to just piss around and not be serious. Not with CrossFit. The "workout-of the-day" (WOD) is written when you walk in. You know what you're doing, and you're held accountable for it. Does that mean Bryan is sitting there with a whip if you can't handle it? Absolutely not. He and his staff evaluate where you are in your fitness, and will modify the program to incorporate its core elements without overburdening you. You'll work hard, but it won't kill you. That would be bad for business. Bryan's been at this for a long time, and it shows. He even has a lot of certificates on his wall from legit sounding places saying he knows what he's doing. If you've never been in a CrossFit facility before, be prepared for the following: -- no machines -- no tanning beds -- no BS (if you need that translated, you're too young to CrossFit) Tomorrow will be my fifth or sixth class. My first two group classes were not with the beginners group due to scheduling, but no one looked down on me for not knowing what exactly was happening. I ask a lot of stupid questions - sometimes twice - and everyone's been incredibly patient as I've tried to get my bearings. It's this synergy that makes this facility as good as it is. Lastly, I've been "preaching" about the accommodating nature of this place as a newb. But make no mistake there are many **very** serious athletes here. If you're coming in with a wealth of CrossFit experience you shouldn't feel out of place unless you stumble into the newb class. And even then, all us newbs would simply gawk slack-jawed while you either rope climb one fingered or rip off 100 lateral burpees without breaking a sweat.

However, F45 has changed my lifestyle: mentally, physically, emotionally, health, and much more. F45 is a team training environment and every workout varies (which makes it fun). The trainers are always willing to help, they are motivators, and above all polite and friendly. F45 music is AMAZING! I've lost over 15lbs, my cholesterol levels dropped, and can now say I eat way healthier! (Why: because after a good workout you want to maintain your body looking great.) This gym is poorly run and does not put money back into gym equipment or fixing simple things such a leaks or broken gym equipment. The gym equipment has dust all over them and never see other gym goers wiping down their equipment after use. Their is a centipede infestation downstairs near the platform. (I have had run towards me as well as see babies) and numerous of other bugs I have seen on the floor while working out. They might be coming from the gaping holes in the wall near the platform ??? (The platform is also unleveled and has holes in them) Their is a speaker downstairs that high schoolers will connect to blast the music so loud that you can hear them through your headphones. That's 100% aloud, but god forbid you hold the door open for someone while they swipe their card in. You will get yelled at for "coat tailing" and be told "that's not tolerated at that gym". Also don't use the mat or colored weights downstairs in the corner, those are off limits to anyone is who is not in "Sean's lifting group" whom pay extra to have their own space in the gym where no one else is aloud. I have gone to my fair share of gyms and I would never spend a dime here ever again. The owner pays the staff 10$ a hour but I heard he drives around in Lamborghinis. He is an owner that's purely out for money and does not care about his customers.
