Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union

Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union

Always have a pleasant experience here. Everyone is super friendly & professional. I transferred…read morefrom another credit union down south & the transition was easy. There are more ATMs on the co-op shared network than I ever had with BofA & I love being part of of a cooperative experience rather than giving my money to the big banks. Also I dig their building. It's bright & sunny & kind of looks like a church.

My husband and I recently finished moving to the Willapa Bay area and wanted to open bank accounts…read morewith a local bank. We went in to the Raymond branch. When we walked in there was no one there and the teller just blinked at us. When we mentioned we were interested in opening accounts. Normally I would have expected for someone to say "Thank you for choosing Great Northwest Federal Credit Union. How can we help you?" Instead, we were subjected to a series of questions without any kind of greeting or courtesy. Some of the questions seemed okay, such as asking what kind of accounts we wanted to open. Then it went into "Do you have ID?" Um, yes. "Does it have you current address on it?" My husband's driver's license did. My driver's license hadn't been updated yet, but I had my new voter's registration card with our address on it. "Do you have something with your mailing address on it?" Um, no. If the mail goes to our street address it automatically goes to our P.O. Box. Since we didn't have any mail with us with our P.O. Box address on it, we were not able to open any bank accounts. We were told they had rules and laws to follow. Um, okay. I understand banking and financial institutions have to adhere to proper protocols and procedures. However, we had barely entered the building when they seemed to make every effort to avoid the inconvenience of assisting us. If that's how they treat someone who is interested in bringing them business, I can only imagine how poorly their customers would be treated. Onward to find another bank for our business and money!
