It was also almost impossible to get clear, transparent answers to questions about procedures, whereas other practices have given detailed answers or offered to find out if an answer was unknown. They were repeatedly misleading about offering "general anesthesia" and I waited months after canceling at another practice (as I had a therapist letter saying I would benefit from full general) to realize they offered the same IV sedation as the first practice. My experience with this practice was incredibly frustrating and I do not recommend them.

I experienced a very sudden onset and rapid escalation of oral pain beginning on a Friday evening which necessitated emergency treatment the next Monday. Dr. Linscott was the only dentist in Athens whom would take me on such short notice. He rescheduled appointments and saw me two hours after I first called. The centrality of his office on Court Street makes him even more accessible to patients. Dr. Linscott treated me successfully to resolution of my case via root canal procedure. In treating me, Dr. Linscott could not have been gentler; in fact decidedly not treating the root canal immediately but first prescribing a strong oral antibiotic to reduce the infection before starting treatment. In my time since as his patient, he has continued to offer the best and gentlest treatment possible. Dr. Linscott's staff are collectively very professional and loyal. His office isn't fancy, but it is clear he remains current on emerging topics and his office is clean, well managed, and has all the tools and talent necessary to do a most effective job. Dr. Linscott remains my dentist today and will remain so, despite my pending relocation to Minnesota.

I not only ended up with a dry socket, but I later found out the left side of my jaw was dislocated as a result of the surgery. Five incremental missed work days, two rounds of antibiotics, one steroid pack and 6 chiropractic visits later, I'm finally on the road to recovery. It's unfortunate that such gifted individuals such as Noorbakhsh and Bobbitt don't seem to view their patients as more than just a paycheck. I'm sure both physicians are extremely talented and knowledgeable in their field, especially considering I'm alive writing this today and with no permanent nerve damage; but one star, because my experience was absolutely miserable overall; from the beside manner to post op.

However, use caution as you will risk being labeled a "drug-seeker". Personally, I hate opiate pain relievers. They have made me sick the few times I have had them, however, I would trade.puking my guts out now rather than have this pain and discomfort. Due to a medical condition and possible contraindications to a medication I am prescribed, I cannot take Tylenol or any other OTC pain reliever. However I can take prescription pain medication without the Tylenol.
