I sued J. Jerry Pilgrim for Breach of Contract. Pilgrim lied to the court to withdraw from my case,…read moreand he kept my money that he did not earn. Pilgrim refused to review the evidence I produced stating he had TOO MANY CASES and did not want to confuse my evidence with the evidence in other cases. Pilgrim went on to state that as a MATTER OF PRACTICE he does NOT review evidence or learn details of his cases until the LAST POSSIBLE MOMENT so as not to confuse one case with another. Pilgrim withdrew from my case PRIOR to reviewing the evidence or computing child support. Pilgrim scheduled a few meetings with me to "coach" me on how to dress, speak, project my voice, and behave on the witness stand (I did NOT hire him for that). There was NO discussion or strategy of my case during the "meetings". The meetings were only a ruse to make it appear as though Pilgrim actually earned the money I paid him, even though he did NOT. Pilgrim had NO intentions of representing me in court, he only asked for money up front then withdrew without cause and without performing any legal work on my case. Pilgrim refused to refund my money upon demand. Pilgrim STOLE my hard earned money. I signed a RELEASE of Files document which stated that ALL of my case files were being handed over to me. After I gave the signed form to the office manger, she grabbed one of the two boxes of documents and put it in the back and told me I was NOT getting them. I said I signed for ALL documents so you must hand over all documents. I requested a copy of the Release Form and she refused to provide a copy to me. After I left the premises the office manager ALTERED the Release Form by ADDING a specific list of documents that were contained in the box she deliberately WITHHELD, falsely stating I was in receipt of those specific documents. I called the Mobile Police (Case Number: M2170201888) to the scene to have Pilgrim's staff to turn over my case files that I already signed IN RECEIPT OF. The LEGAL DOCUMENT had been falsified and altered. Pilgrim's associate attorney tore the document in half separating my signature from a statement I wrote on the form before signing it. My statement was that I was signing for ALL documents GIVEN to me and that I had not reviewed the files for completion. By tearing my statement away from my signature, Pilgrim's associate altered the content and context of a signed LEGAL DOCUMENT. UNETHICAL if not down right CRIMINAL. DO NOT HIRE The Pilgrim Firm, they victimize their clients when their clients are at their most VULNERABLE.

One has retired from practicing law, and the other is now working with the public defender's office and can no longer accept private clients. I had so much faith in these two individuals that I was worried and in doubt when I realized that I would have to obtain new counsel. However, both spoke so highly of Mr. Moseley, that I was intrigued. I took their advice and gave him a call. It has proved to be one of the better choices that I have made. Within fifteen minutes of our first conversation, I knew this was my guy. Mr. Moseley has since worked on a couple of separate issues for me. Each time he has been pleasant, professional and upfront. He is a man of intellect, simply brilliant, and resourceful. Well versed on multiple areas of law, he seems to know everyone, and has, each time, responded rapidly, and quickly reached a resolution. He explains the law and process thereof, in a way that one understands their own fate, and is not in fear of the unknown. Communication with the client should always be of the upmost priority. At the time, I was aggravated with the divorce process because I had already spent a lot of time and money on trying to get my ex-husband to take on his responsibilities. My dad found out he was terminally ill and was very nervous about leaving me alone, as a single mother. So, I agreed to letting my dad help me with getting my retirement portion set up. My dad was a successful financial advisor, so he knew the importance of my retirement Two years and over $7000 after hiring Mr. Jeffries, we still did not even have a court date. Everything about this is so upsetting. I remember practically begging Mr. Jeffries to just get a court date, so my dad can feel better about the situation before he passes. Mr. Jeffries did nothing. After my dad passed, I received a message from Mr. Jeffries's office saying that in order for him to continue his services I would need to pay another $5000 retainer fee. Yes, two years and approximately $7500 later, no court date, nothing, and he's asking for $5000 more. All of this to get one word added to one sentence in a divorce decree. I promise this is not someone you want representing you.
