The small beach town of Itamambuca is my slice of paradise. One of the major reasons I love this enclave is because of the rustic but refined community of surfers that live and frequent this small neighborhood. Looking to get away for a weekend, we searched for housing rentals (of which there were basically no options for just 2 people - most made sense for a group of 4 or more), and there also weren't too many pousadas listed online - we must have found less than 5 and most of them weren't so nice. So, after the search came up empty, we took a chance on Toadas As Luas.
This nice-sized hotel is located about a 15 minute walk to the beach and very near the few restaurants in the area. Home to an array of colorful birds, Todas As Luas proved to be a very well-kept retreat and a true surfer's oasis. There's an outdoor shower to rinse off after a day at the beach and a rack to stash your board overnight. I also enjoyed swinging on the hammock in our outdoor terrace at night.
The morning breakfast was plentiful and the wifi was even decent enough to send out emails and stream some movies at night. Ending the night with a game of pool and foozball or a soak/sweat in the hot tub and sauna added to the fun. I definitely recommend this to couples looking to spend a relaxing weekend in jungle bliss. read more
