I absolutely loved the Pousada Aconchego!! It was about a 10-minute (or less) walk from the bus station (I suggest you map it ahead of time and print out the walking directions). While nobody speaks enough English to have a conversation (speak Portuguese if you can), the staff is very kind. The accommodations are very clean. The morning breakfast is good, and the kitchen staff is friendly. Plus, it's almost a mini compound, so it's quieter than being in a pousada right on the street. Only downsides: The wifi only works in the dining room, and there is only one hair dryer that you have the check out at the front desk. But altogether, it's a very charming place that I highly recommend!! Good price too. read more
