Love, love my custom dishes - rimmed dinner plates (blates), salad plates, and bowls - made by Jezz! We have been using them as every day dishes for almost a year and have yet to have a chip or scratch. Dishwasher and microwave safe. I get compliments on them at every dinner party! Specialties

Great Pottery evolves as culture and environmental change. Working from a home studio, using a large Skutt kiln, a small Paragon and Brent wheel, Jezz is inspired by the beautiful wooded surroundings of Sand Springs Oklahoma. As an entrepreneur, she owned "The Blooming Brit", specializing in designing and planting gardens. Her passion for molding clay into memorable pieces stems from this and playing with mud pies as a child. It's no surprise this lover of nature and earth would make brilliant pieces of art. Constantly exploring new techniques and increasing her inventory of equipment, tools, and glazes, she gives us personalized pottery for every occasion. Come and talk to me about your pottery needs. I take commissions and make custom pieces to suit.

History

Established in 2015.

My businesses made official, after I was laid-off from the Oil & Gas industry and was able to follow my passion for creating pottery. It had begun as a hobby before my 50th birthday as something I'd hankered after doing to see if I enjoyed it and was any good at it... I am so happy I gave it a go and hope you can see the love and whimsy I put into my work. I'm still trying to be good at it!

Meet the Business Owner: Jezz S.

I've always loved the natural world and grew up on the edge of the Cheshire Plain in England with its beautiful lush green fields and hundreds of cows. I used to be a Dairy Maid, milking and looking after the livestock on a local farm. The earth has been a constant and so it was no surprise that I have had a small gardening business called "The Blooming Brit" as I enjoy tending to the plants and being in the outdoors. The natural progression was obviously to get my hands in the clay and enjoy creating pots! I live in the Osage hills of Oklahoma with my husband and dogs and life is good!
