We humans really are creatures of habit, aren't we? We're predictable and most times oblivious to it.
I found myself wandering the streets of Pilsen (Plzen for the truly enlightened) and looking for a beer and a bite to eat. Then boom, Potrefena Husa just jumps out in front of me and says, "Hi, Dave, come on in, you know you want to," which I replied, "Don't mind if I do, good man." So in I went.
English, I ask. Yup, English menu they retort? Please, kind sir, as I belly up to the bar.
Very warm and cozy feeling. Very busy! Locals everywhere enjoying the beer which the city is famous for. A bridal shower over there, various couples scattered here and there, and all enjoying themselves.
As I glance at the menu I'm starting to experience deja vu. Why does this look so familiar I ask myself. The whole place is starting to beckon as if we're old friends and I'm just beside myself. Then it dawned on me, wasn't I in a place just like this in Prague several months back? If so, surely I wrote a review about it. So a scrollin' away I go on my phone and there she blows! This exact same chain in Prague, which I clearly enjoyed, lured me back in.
I didn't realize it was a chain restaurant, but I suspect it's just a Czech chain, and not international, though they have the potential. It was a really enjoyable experience. Great beer, "Hoegaarden," one of my new faves by the way, and a dang good burger!
You can tell it caters to, dare I write, the more affluent, and "Hip" Czechs as everyone was dressed really nice and pretty people aplenty, but without that air of snobbery. I liked the place, and I'm willing to bet all of you will too. read more
