Not only that but it plays childrens laughter which I and loads of my friends think is extremely creepy!! The shop itself is very small and has enough room to accomodate about 6 people, yes it is that small. They sell magazines and newspapers, as well as a freezer compartment for ice cream. Not that they will sell much of that until its warmer. They also sell an assortment of chocolate and sweets as any newsagent type places would. Staff are ok in here and will help if you need it. Not the best place to go since whsmith is next door and has a wider selection of everything. With it being so out of the way as it were,up a corner where its not the easiest to notice may have an impact on trade. When walking out of smiths i dont even look directly left to see it nor do i look on the way to smiths either. A bit too small and out the way for me so not sure how to rank it, 3 does it justice but could do better.

The papershop/newsagents is not the biggest, but sells much of the same as the others. It is the only papershop in the area, which is around catheral lanes and hertford street. They sell the usual sweets and chocolates. Nespapers and a small sleection of magazines. You wont find half of them here so you would need to go to whsmith for more specialist ones. Although they have a small selection of magazines it doesnt really do them much harm. They also have quite friendly staff too which is always a good thing in smaller shops like this one. As there are many larger shops to compete against. So a smile or chat does go a long way! They also sell ice cream , which as you can imagine sells in the hundreds in the summer. The shop also sells scale model cars too. One window is full of them. A great place to have a papershop at the top of the town where there are no others. 4 stars verdict on this great little shop.

I know it's not much but it's the little things that count. The staff that are here are fairly helpful and seem to genuinely care about the newspaper. The newspaper covers a range of topics that are current within Solihull from; business to current affairs and dating to sports. So it's very up-do-date, diverse and shows the culture of Solihull (and Birmingham.) I think the positive impression of news paper the needs to come through a bit more in the visual appearance here. However, I understand finances may be an issue for this.

The prices are not cheap but if you are just looking for the odd bits and need them in a hurry it is ideal. It's only a small shop but does sell all sorts and they are usually quite helpful and friendly. They are usually open quite late too. It's a very handy shop for locals and it is on a street with a few other things close by like a chippy and butchers so you can go and get a loaf of bread for your chip butty.

Competition is tough and they apparently receive nearly 100 applications for work experience a week, so try and get in early. All teams will be re-locating to the Fort Dunlop building in the summer.

It's a great little newsagents which I believe is part of a chain, but this branch is absolutely brilliant. They have a large selection of magazines and newspapers which is great for me as I love my trashy celeb mags, the magazines are laid out logically which is great compared to the newsagents nearby who seems to think it's a good idea to place Heat magazine next to Coarse Fishing books! They have a couple of fridges stocked with a nice selection of soft drinks which are reasonably priced and always well stocked. The 'munchies' section is the best part of Supercigs; they sell a brilliant range of crisps, boxed cakes, chocolate bars, sweets, chewing gum and bagged sweets. My daughters' love the bagged sweets because as well as the usual pineapple chunks and jelly beans they can also choose more exciting sweets such as chocolate Brazil nuts or dried banana chips. The sweets are all very reasonably priced, not just the bagged ones but across the board in this branch. The use-by dates are aways a way off in the future so I'm not such how they can offer such large discounts, but on my last visit I bought multi-packs of Monster Munch for £1 and a bag containing six Cadbury's chocolate bars for just 99p! My kids love it in here because the couple of quid I give them for sweets lasts so much further than if they spent it in the Co-Op. You can also buy greetings cards in here and in the centre of the shop are usually some discount baskets which can hold anything from kids' gardening sets (£1.99, although this was a couple of Summers ago) to huge boxes of marshmallows. Another thing I love about this branch of Supercigs is the fact that I can pay all my bills in there, it's a Paypoint outlet so any bill I have which requires a card or statement for payment I would simply hand over for them to scan and pay the money owed with no charges for this service. Saves a trip to the bank, and believe me I'd much rather be in a shop than a bank!
