I'm a big fan. Enjoy the session my one year old baby boy did. He is a live wire and gave the photographer a morning blast. Will return!!

We hadn't had a family photo taken in quite some time, so spur of the moment I tried to find a photographer for a Charleston photo shoot. The minute I saw Melissa's examples on her website, I knew she was the one I wanted to use. Due to my son's military schedule, we had to do some juggling to find a date and time that worked, but she was super accommodating. We wanted a "Charleston" backdrop, so we met at White Point gardens, took many photos there, as well as throughout downtown Charleston, and along the seawall at the battery. Melissa was great to work with, and made you feel immediately at ease. She had a lot of great suggestions, and really worked hard to get us a variety of photos so we'd have many to choose from. I also really liked that we would be given access to all the photos that she took, and weren't locked into a specific set amount. We are thrilled with the results, and would highly recommend her! Don't hesitate to give her a call, you won't be disappointed!!

Everything was just as I had imagined. We had our dog with us and she was able to capture his personality as well. Melissa was very professional and laid back, perfect for me. I was happy with my professional headshot session from beginning to end. I completed their online…read moreform and received an email response promptly. They asked about my availability and recommended a gray background unless I had something else in mind. I scheduled my appointment for a morning session at their studio, which has its own small parking lot. My session was 40 minutes, including time afterward to select the pose I wanted. I appreciated the dressing room to fix my makeup and hair before the session. They had some hairspray, tissues, and hand lotion in the room. My photographer, Trevor, was friendly and professional and made me feel comfortable in front of the camera. He gave me great directions and helped me select the best pose. During COVID, he and other staff had masks on. The total cost was $150. I will receive a high-resolution image for printing and a low-resolution image for screens/internet by email. I can't wait! I've never had a professional headshot taken and I wish I'd done it sooner. I would not hesitate to consider this studio if you want a professional experience and product.

We just found out that our Corgi has lymphoma. Before he passes, we wanted to get some nice family…read morephotos to remember him by. We paid a family friend to take photos and I am truly sad that I actually paid for those. So I asked around for a professional photographer with a studio, as our youngest pup isn't fully vaccinated, and that was good with pets. Based off recommendations from friends, I emailed four photographers in the area and Tourine from Johnstone Studios was one of the first to respond in a timely manner. Due to the time constant, we didn't do the complimentary consultation, but just made an appointment for the photos on a Sunday afternoon of that week. She did ask what breeds of dogs they were, to make sure she'd have the correct background color ready. We showed up 15 minutes early and she met us at the door. Tourine was warm and welcoming to both us and the pups. Johnstone Studios is beautifully set up, both welcoming and professionally decorated. We went upstairs to a studio with hard wood floors and she went to work. She was extremely kind to the pups and knew how to keep their attention. Tourine had a great energy and the dogs fed off of that. I could tell that Tourine has experience with working with dogs, as she waved treats, talked to them, jumped around and used a train whistle to see what they responded to best. Our Crogi is a ham and loves to take pictures, but our new golden doodle has no concept of what's going on, so getting him to look in the right direction was taxing. After she was done, she checked with us to see if we had time to view the photos in their viewing room, or if we needed to go home for the dogs. They were both doing well, so we stayed to view our photos. Not only did she get a few beautiful pictures of our ailing Corgi, but pictures of the dogs together and one of the four of us. Everyone was looking, beautifully positioned and I will treasure these photos for years to come! Down stairs in their viewing room, we went through the photos on a big screen tv. We picked a package that gave us three of the photos we choose retouched and the digital rights for a very competitive price. My husband also ordered an Urban picture collage of our three pictures. Tourine was extremely low pressure when it came to selling additional add ons and even offered to leave the room so we could talk our choices over. Our digital prints came over retouched in three days and the photo collage we ordered should be here within a month or so. I am so happy with our family photos! Tourine did a great job and Johnstone Studios will be our new place for yearly family photos!

I knew my fiancé would love it as much as me, so it was important for me to get engagement photos there to document all of Charleston's beauty and charm. I researched A LOT of photographers, and many of them were just way too far out of my budget. I was skeptical of Leigh's prices, but figured even if I had an amateur taking pictures of me in Charleston's cobblestoned streets of love, they still couldn't be that bad. She does not have an instagram, but does have a Facebook, but only showed little bits of her work. I took a chance and I emailed back and forth with her and she was always very responsive. We arrived in Charleston a couple of days before Hurricane Irma. We discussed options if the hurricane were to hit directly, obviously plans would have to change. Luckily for us and the rest of the east coast, it turned inward, however did cause major flooding in downtown Charleston, which was where we were set to have our photos done. Leigh was able to do us a day later, to give an extra day of cleanup to downtown area. We met Leigh and she had a friendly face and smile. It was a little awkward for Chris and I as we had never had professional photos done (other than by my sister) so we felt a bit silly but trusted Leigh in her posing. Leigh walked us around the battery and Rainbow Row and asked for our input on what photos we wanted as well as just taking some of her own. We booked her for two hours and she was able to get so many shots! Even with a wardrobe change (which she knew of a great spot that was clean to change in) we had leftover time and she asked if there was anything else I wanted. I told her I love love love the US Customs House, so we got in our car and drove a couple miles up the road. I am SOOO happy we went there. She walked us around the block to take some pictures in front of the Charleston Market. I can't believe I'm giving up all these secrets. Throughout the photo taking time she was pleasant and helpful. She thought of things I never would have. I figured I would have to wait WEEKS to see the final result. Well I did not at all. It was like 72 hours, she had sent me a z drive (is that what it is??) in the mail to my home address (we had come home at that point - not sure how delivery is to local people) with all my photos on them, plus each photo in black and white. The pictures are JUST BEAUTIFUL!! I have uploaded quite a few of them, our absolute favorites but you can see for yourself if you like her style. We absolutely did. We are so so happy with how they turned out, look at them all the time! Already had a shutterfly book made with the images. There were really only a handful that I did not like, and that is because how my face looked, not how the picture looked!! And also my fiancé was sweating like a pig (no pun intended) cause he had never been in that wonderful southern humidity, and I wish it came through better through the lens because it was noticeable in the pictures where he had taken his jacket off. None of these things had to do with her, just the only "bad" thing I can think of, cause there has to be something right. OHHH I know. I really wish she would blog your photos, or have a link to them so you can add them to your own website, instead of having to upload each one individually to your Facebook page or such. I would love to have a link to brag about them and say go check out my photos by Leigh! I have to instead upload each individually, and who really looks at the +86 photos on Facebook..... I can't say how much I love my Charleston engagement photos. She Captured some really sweet moments with my fiancé and I and did a fantastic job capturing Charleston's beauty. I hope to travel again to Charleston and will very much hire Leigh in a heartbeat for some more stunning and fun photos :)
