You get what you pay for. It's a cheap option for a lot of pictures. I used to be a big Portrait Innovations fan, and referred several of my friends there. However, over time they have adapted a SELL, SELL, SELL mentality. This last visit, I asked for one family portrait, yet the photographer told me the "rule" is that they take four backgrounds of each group. There were several other pictures i wanted to skip or do differently, but I was told I needed to stick to their routine. It took way longer than advertized, and I was late to a meeting. When I suggested we skip the calendar, I was told I have to listen to the entire calendar plug, so I sat and waited for the clerk to assemble pictures of my daughter crying or with eyes closed (remember, you have to do ALL the prescribed photos) into a calendar, and then watch the slide show-like production of the whole thing. Once again, when it came to narrowing down the pictures, I had to listen to the whole pitch, including what I would "lose" if I didn't buy them all. They show you the pictures three at a time. Again, sometimes all three shots would have eyes closed, etc., yet I was told I HAD to chose one to keep in the group, until we went to the second round. I basically felt like a hostage for an hour and a half. What happened to doing what the customer wants? I didn't want anything extra; I wanted LESS of their services!
At any rate, if you want some cute, cheap pictures of your kids, it's fine. If you want anything quality, go with someone else. read more
