I knew that we had gotten lucky our first time here. We had Christmas pictures done Sunday afternoon December 10th. We walked in to a packed house. We asked if they were running behind. They said they weren't and that they had scheduled appointments 10 minutes apart and that it was moving quickly. That was a lie and we heard them tell other people the lie. It takes a good hour to take the pictures and select them, yet they're scheduling 6 appointments within that hour. It's hard to get children to wait for hours upon hours and get them to cooperate for photos. Multitudes of people who had already been waiting for several hours were leaving in droves. We had already planned our entire day around this, so aborting the mission was not an option. The short story is that we were there for a total of 5 hours to get Christmas pictures. The workers were clearly exhausted. We were exhausted. Then they want you to go through hundreds of decisions it seems like and I was like "I don't give a shit. Just pick some for me." In the end, we did get some decent pictures for a decent price, but they were blatantly lying to people and only helping the ones with the most endurance. This is a two star review. I took spring pictures with my family. I had an appointment and they was ready to take our pictures when we got there. I got a free canvas and extra prints. I got 6 poses and spent around $160. You get your pics back the same day. Everybody was professional and nice, plus they knew how to make the kids smile. I love this location I have been here before and I will to continue to come take my pictures here in the future! read more

Portrait Innovations - March 2019 - Session Photography Near Me - Collierville, Tennessee

It has been my family's tradition to take Christmas and special event photos at Portrait Innovations in Collierville. Due to this years experience that tradition has been broken. My family had to wait over 6 hours for our photos which is in acceptable. The Store Manager was unapologetic for the wait. She refused to fix our issue "real time" only fixing it after everyone else was gone. Her attitude wasn't pleasant and she went out of her way to make my experience unbearable (employees actually apologized for her behavior). During all of this the store manager kept referring to a phone incident with my mother that didn't occur (my mother passed away 7 years ago) and no one in my family called the studio on our behalf...I truly believe this is what triggered this unprofessional behavior. I expressed several times to the manger that the incident did not occur and we should address the actual issue at hand. I was sickened by this experience. I'd like to start off by saying that this studio is really geared toward kids. They WILL NOT give you a quote of the price before you get there... BAD SIGN. They take 3 photos of each pose and at the end, you choose you're favorite of each shot. They do not adjust positions that much and some people were a little hidden in the large group shots. They are very vague about their packages and (very important): *If you want the high resolution copyright digital photos, you must purchase a package which includes very staged vanity layouts. YOU CANNOT ONLY BUY THE DIGITAL HI RES PHOTOS* Here is the pricing that they told us about: $409.99 - hi res photos, 10 sheets (5x7, 8x10, wallet etc), a few other vanity layouts, photobook and a canvas. $529.99 - similar package with more of the same offerings. They take the photos and DO NOT edit them. The lady was also very short with my grandparents when they had questions. There are many more places nearby to go to where you have a better idea of what you are getting and what you are paying. read more

Where do I begin? -I can deal with delays but unprofessionalism is unacceptable! My wife and I called the studio to alert them that we would be 10 minutes late. We were informed that if we were more than 10 minutes late we would lose our reservation. My wife then asked if we arrived on time would we be able to walk right in since the manager (Tori) made it seem that we were throwing off their schedule. She stated that they were on schedule and that if we were more than 10 minutes late it could take anywhere from an hour to up to 4 hours to work us back in. We arrived on time and asked if our session was next( she refrained from saying that they were behind), she replied that we were on time and would not lose our reservation. After an hour of waiting we finally began our session. I noticed that she seemed to be rushing the photographer working with us to complete our session. Once we selected the special only(the pictures were not great do to rushing and no quality poses) my wife asked if the photos could be lightened up because the appeared to be dark. The young lady said yes and directed us to the front counter for payment. We were told it would be twenty minutes for our pictures (it's taking longer when they were running smoothly). After sitting in the car for 10 minutes we received a call stating that are pictures would be available Tuesday. My wife re entered the studio to speak with them and they produced the photos within minutes. The problem was that they didn't lighten them. When she asked for them to be corrected, the manager stated that she had customers and walked away. My wife then asked for a number for corporate and she ignored repeated requests for the number. My wife finally got a number from a crew member. At this time the manager has called security to come to the studio because she doesn't feel safe. My wife contacts the district manager as security arrives. We explain the situation and he enters the studio, after speaking with her he deems it a non issue and leaves. We were told that our pictures would be ready shortly. We waited another 3 hours from that moment for a total of 6 hours of our day. She made us wait until she had taken care of all other customers before addressing our situation. Collierville Location. read more

I would highly recommend this place being at the end of your list for possible photography studios. Including having one of your friends who isn't a photographer doing it for you before going here. If you do go here definitely request to see the pricing and packages first so you don't fall prey to their business scheme of being disingenuous. read more

We had a 10:30am appointment to make family holiday portraits. We waited over an hour for our session to start. They appeared to have over-booked. Our session went quickly, and we reviewed our pictures. We ordered a higher priced package in order to get a photo book for my parents for Christmas. We were promised (verbally and in writing) that the book would arrive by 12/22. I've called several times throughout the week- no arrival. My husband calls today (12/23), and he was told that it would not arrive until after the holidays. They gave my husband their corporate number (who happens to be closed until after the holidays). I would not go back. I chose PI because I would get the photos the same day and wouldn't have to make a second trip back to pick them up. It isn't close to my house and I am a working mom. Three times I was told it takes 15-30 minutes to get the photos (when scheduling, when I arrived and during the photo session when I saw them fiddling with the machine). When it came time for me to pay I was only then told they did not have a working machine and it would be 30 minutes to an hour more. I left. I was really annoyed at first, but the pictures weren't that great so I got over it. I just want you to be forewarned, if you are using Portrait Innovations to get same day photos that they may not meet that expectation. They make you call this useless customer service number. I was not looking for a freebie, I was looking to have my problem solved. Lesson learned, hopefully you can benefit from my experience. Best of luck! m read more

If it were possible to give zero stars, that is the option I would pick. We've been to this location twice and each time we had horrible experiences with our latest experience (a month ago) being the worst. We made an appointment and waited OVER an hour just to get put into a photo room. ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. They made the most superficial "apology" and didn't seem at all bothered by this and acted like this scenario is business-as-usual for them. The people on staff were unprofessional and unapologetic. My kids were falling to pieces (ages 1 & 3) so I told our photographer not to take individual photos - just ones of the family all together as we did not intend to order any nor did we have the time anymore. Again, our photographer was completely uninterested in our plight and talked about how important it is for the company that she take a certain amount of pictures and if I had a problem with it then I would have to reschedule. Are you joking me?! I've ALREADY been here 1.5 hours! I am clearly not interested in rescheduling or ever coming back. So not only are the clowns working here unprofessional but it seems like the company itself could care less about the customers, too. Awesome. So, in short: PICK ANOTHER COMPANY! read more

We arrived at 12:10 for our 12:15 appointment. The waiting area was completely packed and we had no where to sit for the first 25 minutes. At 1:30 we were escorted to a studio. I explained to the photographer we were there for Christmas card pictures only and we didn't need to have a hundred poses. Things were going smoothly and about 15 shots in we were asked to move to the other studio for a different backdrop. We waited an additional 15 minutes for another family to finish in this studio. When it was our turn, I asked for the blue wall backdrop with the white molding that was currently exposed. I was told that backdrop had been discontinued and we wouldn't be able to use it. The photographer had the kids pose in front of two more backdrops and we were finished. I felt confident that of the 50 or so photos, one would be suitable for a Christmas card. Once we reached the viewing monitor, I pulled up PI website and indicated I was interested in the card stock / fine stationary option of Christmas cards. According to the website, this option takes 5-7 days processing which was fine with me. The employee told me the card stock cards were not an option and the 5x7 cards on photo paper were the only thing available. I was very disappointed b/c this was the only reason I had come here. I again told the employee I was only interested in cards, but she said she was required to go through the entire presentation. She seemed very disgruntled that I would not agree to purchase any portraits in addition to the cards. The entire experience was exhausting. I left with some just average, at best, Christmas cards. They were obviously overbooked and understaffed. I will not return. I would advise others not to go unless you have 3-4 hours to spend on mediocre pictures. read more

Is so rude & unprofessional we arrived 10 mind early and waited a total of 5 hours before we were seen she totally rushed through my families session & choosing of pictures like she didn't care, so that is also why I lowered her sale, also she got an attitude with me & got loud which you don't do with customers at all and she seemed ghetto the whole time. Portrait innovations located in Southaven Ms is by far the worst experience I've ever had in picture taking.... first on the good end the speed of getting the photos done for a 1 year old was great..... i arrived and presented them with a coupon i had up fromt....outside of the coupon i asked about packages and deals but i didn't get a direct answer she said we will get to the bottom on all the packages once we where done with the shoot... fast forward we finish the shoot and it came down to selecting images.... i already had in mind to select 4 poses.... and that was in my budget i just wanted enough images so that i could have some memories.... but when it came down to selection i narrowed down what i wanted but i was sooooooooo pressured by the photographer to the point i end up spending $300 on pictures that i won't even use.... i told her over and over again that i didn't want so many poses and images and she presses me so bad to the point she said "let's just take a break because you seem to be getting frustrated" and i was because i still wasn't grasping the fact as to why i can't just select what i want get a few copies alone with the package that i have already.... so on top of spending 300 on pictures the package "came with" two hard back books that were full of pictures and i was charged $40!!!!! To have the "free" books sent to my home!!! This place made me feel so uncomfortable and i got to the point i didn't want to leave with nothing because i felt as if i went through too much... and i don't feel no establishment should pressure their customers to buy things they do not want.... and it was so bad to the point it was like i had no choice but to purchase the pictures.... i was 2 seconds from saying to hell with these pictures but Portrait innovations will NEVER get another dime of my money... she got rude and tried to cut all these outside deals with me and it still end up spending way more than my budget was..... worst experience every read more

Service is horrible. I had set appointment to correspond with grandchildren nap times. We waited 1 and 1/2 hours for our appointment. By that time grandchildren and great grandmother were all cranky and pictures are not good. This is probably only time we will have 4 generations together and so am very upset with time wait and poor pictures. Manager did volunteer to arrange another photo shoot but today was only time that we would all be together so not possible plus children were also all very tired so another shoot today would not be any better. Horrible. Will never go back. 3 hour wait with appt. Walk in go straight to pictures while your still standing because there is no room to sit. Coupon says $15 but your bullied into about $400 dollars because they delete your pictures after you order and you can't order later. I would like to inform you of my experience I had at the Collierville Tn - Carriage Crossing location on October 3,2017. I scheduled my appointment online and then received a voicemail from an employee asking me to return the call because my appointment need to be rescheduled. When I returned the call I was told I have to reschedule my appointment time or come extra early because she had a 4pm & 5 pm appointment and only one photographer would be there so I then asked why would I not go in front of that 5pm appointment since my time was scheduled at 4:20pm. She then stated "look ma'am I'm just trying to reschedule your appointment if not you will have to wait hours for your appointment after the 5pm appointment and we close at 6pm." At this point I asked for her name and she began coughing and hung up that phone. I called back she answered and I asked her again for her name and manager name. She told me her name was Natalie and she was a manger I asked if there was anyone over her she stated no there isn't. I asked if I could have upper management or corporate number. She began yelling "Look ma'am you don't have to call corporate all you have to do is reschedule your appointment" I calmly asked again for corporate number and she yelled it out really fast and hung up that phone after saying "Girl Bye". I then researched and called the corporate number 704-499-9359 and spoke with Jessica. I explained everything that happened to Jessica and she placed me on hold to call up to the Collierville store. When Jessica returned to the phone she informed me that Natalie was not at work today 10/3/17 she told me only Gregtoria and April are at the store and that I can go for my appointment at 4:20. I then asked her was any actions going to be taken against Gregtoria since she gave me a false name(Natalie) and hung up that phone in my face saying "GIRL BYE" she then gave me a record number of 43088, and said I can still go to my scheduled appointment. I thanked Jessica for her time and ended the call. I then went to my coworker who referred me to Portrait Innovations and explaining everything that happened she informed me to call the Southaven MS store because she never had any problems like this. I informed her I would just find another establishment to take my new baby pictures at. She then called her Southaven store herself and asked if they had any available appointments today and began explaining to them what happened. So at 2:46 I received a call from April at the Collierville location asking "are you still coming to your 4:20 appointment or not? because you have the Southaven location calling our location". I asked for her name she told me April and I then asked for her manager name she informed me she was the only person working all day and she is the one who left me the voicemail earlier at 1:25. I informed her that I recognized her voice was different and I'm certain I spoke with another person. She then told the truth and told me Tory is the manger and she was out for lunch and would be back later. So I informed her that I was on the way for my appointment since I was informed earlier by Gregtoria Jones who told me her name was Natalie to come early or that I would be waiting over 2 hours. Upon arriving at 3:06 pm with my 6 month baby and her grandmother we asked to speak to the manager as soon as we walked in that door. No one addressed us with any greeting no hello anything. Gregtoria was on her personal cellphone ignoring us at the front desk. So we asked April again if we could speak to a manager. By this time Gregtoria got off her cellphone, I begin to pick up my cellphone to record the conversation since I was told so many lies from that time I spoke with her. She then began yelling are you recorded me that against the law I'm calling security. So after she called security she went and locked herself into a glass office while we waited for security. When security arrived she immediately informed him that we were threatened her all day on the phone. We couldn't even get 2 words out to even speak to Gregtoria. The reason I'm writing this message is because all of this should not have transpired because of a simple appointment error due to lack of staffing or the fact the website let me schedule online. If Gregtoria is a representation of your company she is not a good one. This would've been my baby first professional pictures and it was all ruined due to Gregtoria and I still haven't received an apology or anything from corporate except for you can still go to your appointment. I think some type of disciplinary action need to take with Gregtoria and April because they ran away a potential customer for just bad customer service skills. Also the fact that she used another employee name who was not at work was bad for that business. I am outraged and upset that I had to experience this with your company in front of my 6month old baby. read more

Terrible experience yesterday! Our Valentine's Day was completely ruined. The service at this studio has considerably gone down since our last session there I am sad to say. This has been our favorite place for family pictures for the past 4 years. The manager Tori was extremely rude and combative when we called to inform them that we were running late. She lied that they were several customers waiting and we'll have to reschedule our appointment. When we arrived the studio was completely empty! There was not one customer waiting! Another family arrived shortly after us which we later find out by the husband were also late. The level of unprofessionalism was astounding. The staff were complaining under their breaths but loud enough for us to hear. One staff brought her daughter to work and was asking her if she needs to potty. Although we were there 3 hours before closing, it seems that the staff main concern was to get off work early. We were being ignored while 2 of the photographers were working together on the same family. Tory the manager unable to contain her rage, disappeared in the back. I was trying my hardest keep calm but realized it was fruitless to try to have our pictures taken that day. There was too much hostility in the air and we were clearly made unwelcome. We've been to this place with an appointment and still have to wait 2 hours to be serviced but the staff has always been nice and professional. To ask us to reschedule for being a few minutes late when the place was completely empty was ridiculous. We will not be returning to this studio. I hope the owners find staff that are friendly and enjoy their work, not people just there for a paycheck. read more

This was a terrible experience. We were told to arrive early and have the kids dressed for the photos. We arrived 20 min. early and had to wait 45 min. to get started. Photographer was terrible with the kids. Only took a few pictures before moving us to another room. Couldn't continue until the room was ready, so after being there 1 1/2 hours we walked out with NO pictures. read more

So after a nice sitting with my twins that took about an hour the torment began. I stated that I wanted to be able to purchase the hi-res digital cd and new what sheets I wanted to have printed. I was forced to sit through an hour long process of basically deleting the 80+ photos taken so they could finally get to the super low price of over $300 with tons of prints I didn't want and lots of useless products I don't need or want. Now that all is said and done, I've lost some great pictures of my kids because the outrageous price gouging at this studio. DO NOT GO HERE unless you are prepared to have your pictures held ransom at outrageous prices. We will be taking out pictures elsewhere from now on. read more

If I could give Portrait Innovations in Collierville, TN a half star, I would. I took my toddler son there today for his Valentine's Day Pictures. The photographer we were assigned has five children, and she was a complete know-it-all. I kept advising her that my son was only accustomed to sitting in high chairs and toddler chairs. She insisted that he sit in an adult chair with no supports and no arms. My little one refused to sit still for those poses, as he is afraid of heights. I asked her if we could try another pose, but she insisted on using the adult chair which was an unsafe choice. My little one did not fall out of the chair because I refused to leave his side. Finally, the photographer asked me if I wanted to schedule another session. I told her this was not possible due to my other obligations. When I asked if I could look at the pictures and purchase a few, both the photographer and the inept manager told me "no". They both said it had to be a full session. I left upset because I wasted time at their studio, when I could have snapped a few photos at home with the props I have. Also, they do NOT have the alphabet block "love" prop at the Collierville location, so do not bother asking. If you decide to risk a visit, please steer clear of the know-it-all photographer. Know that you may leave empty-handed. read more
