I have been wanting to try this place since it had switched over to the fish grill, which has been a while. I finally had the chance today. This is a fish lovers place with a Mediterranean twist. I loved it all! Firstly comes the gratis homemade pita bread, small sides of pickles, baba ganoush, quinoa and more - see the pic. Next came the side eggplant carpaccio. Had great flavor and a tiny bit of heat from the jalapeños. So yummy. Lastly, fish schnitzel which was tilapia accompaniedby a lemon oil dip. The breading was perfect with a nice crunch with each bite. I thoroughly enjoyed it all. All the amazing flavors that satisfied my palate. Can't forget about the great service. Was seated quickly, drinks and food prompt. read more

This place was not very welcoming on a Sunday afternoon! It's a big mad house with parents letting their kids run around and do what they want while being in the way of staff. A restaurant specializing fish items in the menu. However, it doesn't smell fish in here. On the contrary, this place is kept clean and smelling good. Plenty of inside seating and more in the outside patio. Free valet parking which is a bonus for diners. Friendly and fast service. I went here to try the shakshuka breakfast this place is very well known of. Shakshuka is wonderful egg stew with tomato and herb. Well I thought that's all I was gonna have here until the server laid tiny plates in the table. Not sure how other places serve Shakshuka but this traditional Israeli breakfast was served with tahini and pita with an assortment of fresh, homemade sides and salads including muesli, avocado spread, jam, feta cheese, olives, tuna, etc. My eyes popped out and my jaw dropped. I was thinking how the hell will I finish all these. Consumed with that thought, i started working on these goodies. I enjoyed it so much that I totally forgot about the real reason I came here. Yes, I forgot all about the shakshuka until the server came back with a big plate of this egg stew. As good as it looked, I wasn't even able to touch it. I had it to go which I enjoyed later that day. Looking forward to order it next time I visit but I'll make sure to bring someone else to share it with. The food is flavorful. You can taste the difference between the seasons and fish. The service is wonderful as soon as you set down there's water and appetizers sent to your table with pita bread. The music is wonderful to listen to and it's a beautiful family friendly experience. Either you eat kosher or not it's a wonderful place to eat. read more

The food was amazing. The meal came with fresh hummus and pita to start off. We ordered whole fried white bass that was amazing. The only problem with the food is that the sides came out way before our fish. Service was good but not great. Today was the first time I've been to an Israeli restaurant and it was great! Planned to go with a couple of friends we took a trek to Tarzana to try out their Shakshuka plate. Doing a bit of research we noticed a nice spread that accompanies the meal. Excited to try so many different flavors we all came hungry. Shakshuka a simple dish with complex spices all rolled into a tomato stew served with egg. The portion was overwhelming and already knew leftover was to be had. The sides that came with the plate are several different items that accompany the dish or pita/bread which is also served with the meal. There were so many items available but my favorite was the mango jelly, avocado and the olives/pickles. Had I known how to each this dish I would have created a small sandwich with the pita, adding Shakshuka inside with some of the salad that came with our plate. Our group added a fish to try, the sea bream. A filet that was perfectly cooked in butter, garlic and pickled lemon. All items here are great for sharing with a semi-large group of people. We also ended our meal with a Malabi. Malabi is an Israeli milk pudding, simple and delicious. I have never had anything like it in my life and I felt that today I leveled up in culture. Some additional tips that I thought was interesting was Tel Aviv's salads are vegan practiced, gluten-free and Kosher. Parking: Private lot, street parking VERDICT: Rinse and repeat read more

I visited this place with one of my colleague based on his recommendation. Awesome healthy food. Plenty of healthy and tasty sides. I had the best pita here. Great hummus. I tried their friend fish lemon seasoning on side. It was just delicious. I will visit again with family. Good sting place. Plenty of parking near by.I parked in the street. This place is definitely one of the best Mediterranean places in North America. 1- The mezza tray is fantastic. Everything was high quality and tasty. Great combinations of Middle Eastern appetizers. Beautifully designed and served. 2-Very rarely you can see a place in North America that serves real Hummus and doesn't mess up the original recipe. This Hummus tastes what you would get in the Middle East. 3- We had Sea Bream and Trout and both really delicious and beautifully designed. 4- Great staff and service. 5- Israeli salad was fresh and tasty. We had to send back the roasted vegetables because they had way too much salt on them. Get the Israeli salad instead--hard to screwup. I am over this place and Tel Aviv (no fish) Grill also. The dips that come with the food are the only thing I would eat there now. i think they lost their mojo and are concentrating on their new overpriced restaurant TLV Tapas. read more

Things have changed a lot since my last visit here. Severs and workers are not as it used to be. They used to have the Israeli mentality of abundance. I didn't feel this way this time. There used to be better staff overall. I didn't get a hood vibe. They need to have better waitresses and resurrect the"" "whatever you want" mentality that was one of the main reasons Israelites and everyone else flocked to this place. I ordered the breakfast. It was good. Just overall experience wasn't pleasant. I guess it's the people that run it. Not sure if I'm going back there again. If the owners read it-take matter to your hands and hire better people. I know it's hard to run a business especially a food business. Excellent presentation with great quality. The fish was very fresh and moist. Although the flavor doesn't agree with my pallet, I believe that's a personal matter of preference of regional spices. The food here has a very Israeli taste. A tray of different appetizers are brought including different vegetables, humus, and dips for the hot pitas. All which are complementary, unique in flavor and impressive upon delivery with the many different samples. The service was excellent and very attentive. Very inventive idea for a Valley strip mall type setting with the sounds of the Middle East softly filling the air the atmosphere is cool, calm and relaxing. The order is delivered to the table in a timely manner which makes for a great business lunch for under an hour. It is somewhat pricey for the location, and not a huge selection to choose from. Unless your a huge fan of fresh water fish, eggs, and hummus I would suggest elsewhere. Valet parking is available at no charge and your keys can be found at the booth on the way out. read more

I absolutely love love TelAviv Grill & TelAviv Fish Grill. I brought my friend her today for lunch, and sat outside patio seating due to COVID-19. Our server's name was Effie, and she was absolutely sweet, hardworking, knowledgeable and very helpful with the menu information. Thank you Effie for your recommendations, Branzino was absolutely DELICIOUS and the desserts were maladia and cookie chocolate dessert. Unfortunately, when we asked for the game sound to be turned on, they mentioned they have a new system and the staff wasn't quite sure how to work it yet. By the time someone who could help was available, we were already closing out our check and heading out. All in all, the staff is really great and the location is good. Parking on Ventura Boulevard can be difficult since they're close to another popular restaurant, but I went midday on a weekend and didn't have any issues.

For such a high-ended restaurant and pricy food it's only avarage, inside decor pretty but very and tightly packed with guests and loud especially for a week day night kind of unusual, I was disappointed think it's a bit overrated sorry to say. I think Flemings, Ruth Chris, or Morton's are better food wise for the same price and dining experience and not as loud too. Think what could make it better is to thin out the crowded packed affect in the main inside dining area would help a lot too, or, if we ever go back sit outside instead I recommend. FOOD 01. squash blossoms ($21 for 5 pc): 8.3/10 these were crispy and light, delightful to eat on their own without the tomato marinara sauce served on the side. casalena's squash blossoms had a strong, lovely hint of lemon that wasn't present in mother wolf's rendition. 02. chicken piccata ($29): 7.5/10 this main was served with a generous helping of potatoes mashed into a delicious velvet. 03. vodka lumaconi ($25): 9/10 this dish was the standout of the evening! the pasta shells were cooked al dente and coated in a slightly spicy, perfectly savory vodka sauce! casalena does not skimp on the sauce in any of their dishes! 04. tagliatelle ($29): 7/10 this pasta dish was not nearly as impressive. 05. tiramisu ($15): 7/10 since we mentioned the dinner was for a special occasion in our reservation, this dessert was served with a candle. while its presentation was lovely, its taste was underwhelming. the espresso was extremely subtle, and there was more madeline than mascarpone/cream. overall, our party of 4 was fully satiated after splitting 1 appetizer, 3 mains, and 1 dessert. service was lovely throughout! and as another yelpie mentioned in their review, their matchbook is very nice.

This used to be my spot! If you like live music, be sure to check out their blues night. Get there EARLY! Camp out at the bar and save your seat because it's about to be standing room only. You can reserve a table in advance. If you miss a live music night, just purchase some points for the jukebox. Smoking section outside, no food, but feel free to bring your own. There's pizza, sushi, and sandwiches in the same plaza, so you're set! A staple of the valley! If you go, order a Dark and Stormy for me!

First, our friend asked for a glass of pretty standard white wine, was told that she should try something else as that one was not available. When I got to pay the bill, the cost for 5 oz was about the cost of 2 bottles of what she normally buys at a wine store. Second, while the food prices are on the high side, I noticed a charge for use of a credit card. While this is not a big expense, it is extremely annoying and I resent being nickled and dimed. Restaurants deserve to make a fair return but I hate bait and switch and hidden ad-ons. While this won't break the bank, it is unacceptable to me, so I am lowering my rating to average, food 5 star, service ? - you decide.
