A really nice festival, perfect to end the summer in a friendly ambience. The location is great, not far from the center which is really useful. I had a lovely time there ! I recommend it ! read more

The only thing I would change about this is how crowded it gets…read more You can spend all day trying out beers, liquors, and mixed drinks for a really, really good price. You can even get chocolate, cheese, and salami/sausages. Who would ever want to leave? A great way to spend the day with friends and/or loved ones, or pre-game for cheap before a night out ;)

The Stockholm Pride Festival is aimed primarily at the LGBT community. It does not only show…read moreacceptance of the LGBT community in Sweden, it also tackles important problems we are facing in society such as discrimination in Russia, jail time in Uganda, and so forth. I also admire the fact that a lot of parents bring their children to watch the parade, the culmination of a week long festival, because I believe acceptance should start early on in life.

You really gotta love The Color Run. Even if you don't like color (?!?!) and even if you don't like…read morerunning. Even when you're hungover and don't feel like running (Uh...this is totally theoretical...), the atmosphere somehow gets you when you're there. Everyone jumping up and down, waving their arms in the air in sync as they get totally pepped and ready to dash. The free Loka and other random little goodies. The tutus, the socks. Honestly, though, once (or twice) is enough. I've done it twice now, and the first time was a total blast. The second time was still surprisingly fun - and yet everyone in my group concluded that it wasn't worth doing it again. Part of this is because of the price. Honestly it's pretty expensive for a t-shirt and a bag of color powder. I mean last year the bag included a headband and some detergent at least - this year we didn't get those freebies. If you've never done the Color Run, I would say it's a 5-star event - go for it! But if you've done it before, it kind of drops to a 3. You don't really need to do it again, at least not for that price. But hey, YOLO!

Ok, so being the token American, of COURSE I'd be all over this event. Grilled cheese sandwiches…read morearen't my favorite food ever, but it doesn't mean I'd turn one down if offered to me. The marriage of good, toasted bread and ooey gooey cheese is just perfection (and just one ingredient away from being basically pizza). It was this day that I learned that Sweden does not know how to make a grilled cheese sandwich. The cheese was scant, and the trucks skirted around the rules a bit, nevertheless the sandwiches were still delicious. My favorite sandwich came from Soulistic, with Charlie in the Tree and Fred's Food Truck coming in very close. Each sandwich was maximum 40 kr, so you can try a couple without breaking the bank. You can then go and visit your favorite truck during the week! The mini beer garden was absolutely adorable as well and was such a cool place to just hang out and drink some refreshing brews. Nine different grilled cheese sandwiches + 15 different beers from microbreweries + decent weather = good day. I can't wait until next year's!
