Was here at end of a day. They were still busy. Forgot to take pictures but did buy a print, I'll upload it. It just spoke to me and Hubby. Met the owner who's quite interesting himself. Talked about how he culls pieces from around the globe, finding artists on Instagram for instance. Quite diversified gallery of POP, modern art using many techniques. Loved the 3D selections. Also found the various brown rabbits sitting about on the floor interesting. Owner showed me work by that particular artist, saying, "rabbits are his thing". He was gracious in dashing off to meet friends at The Shed, saying prices are just talking points. He loves to negotiate. read more

upon my return noticed pop kitty art. Seems like a average space with emerging artists original work but not in fine art category, more of retail venue where gallerists forgot about promotion for artists and focus on retail over hung but most are in Santa fe NM . not the best fit for serious collectors bu great for kids to see many art forms regurgitated art done 100,000 times by copying original artists who are no longer on the planet. The oversaturated market in santa fe is not special as was once was when my neighbor O'keeffe lived and breathed art in this overpopulated market with L A traffic jams over an hr to exit city and that is a good day! Instead head to Okeefe museum and skip over hung galleries in a mondain art market living off past fame but now only a shadow of what once was a thriving fine art market. For a overcrowded city not one person entered this gallery. Galleries are going the way it seems of blockbusters. Shame on overhung galleries making shopping a cluster F of collectors! Visit artist studios where they create and get better prices period most artists love studio visits! Be careful many galleries here sell work that will become garage sale fodder for the unwise! Hell just purchase from art museum stores better then regurgitated art. Exception is indigenous selling on sidewalks where there are ture masters of their work and greedy galleries receive no $$$! read more

POP Gallery is one of my favorite galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I'm always mesmerized by the art work. Everything they have is so unique and interesting. Michael McDowell is the Gallerist and was very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend when you're in Santa Fe to check out this gallery. It's something special. read more

During a solo visit to Santa Fe, I stumbled upon Pop Gallery on my way to La Boca. This was an unexpected and cool find. Some may find the Santa Fe gallery environment a bit stuffy at times, especially on Canyon Road. Pop Gallery is anything but. The art is fun yet provocative. Had fun chatting with one of the owners and I am still smiling remember some of the art work here. Great place! read more

This was alright. They had a Where the Wild Things theme for their main area, and there were a few cool pieces. The variety of styles of art was refreshing in a city where, let's be real, the art is kinda blegh. I'm not super into the art of Santa Fe, so I'll preface with that. Here there were lots of different styles of stuff going on, so if you're looking for a variety of art to consider, it works that way! At POP there were even some $50k original drawings from The Grinch. The piece I really liked was this turquoise bracelet that looked like traditional Southwestern jewelry, but upon closer inspection it was carved into a rough-hewn skull. Pretty rad!! Some expensive pieces and a large variety of art styles. read more

This is a great gallery full of excellent examples of the Neo-Pop art movement. There are some reasonable pricing for one-of-a-kinds and series work. The owner Sharla was very giving of her time with me in explaining the ins and outs of what was in store. She helped me to understand some of the current pricing vs availability questions that I had. The wifey and I have an eye for some of the pieces in the gallery... we will have to look into a possible purchase. This is worth the visit. Go and explore. read more

Anytime I am visiting family in Santa Fe I always make sure to stop by Pop. The new location and space is amazing. I happened to have a piece catch my eye and Sharla and Bob were amazing to work with. I live in California and they shipped the piece in ample packaging and it's very apparent they care it arrives with zero damage. Living in Los Angeles some galleries are all about the $$$. It's so refreshing to speak to owners such as Sharla and Bob due to the fact they too love art and collecting. The piece I purchased arrived today and I forgot just how beautiful it was. I cannot state enough just how easy it is to work with either Bob or Sharla. I will be back every time I am in town to see what new and very interesting art they have on display. If you are visiting from out of town or a local, you need to stop over and take a look. You can find yourself looking at different art for well over an hour, and it's a very relaxed environment. No one is following you around and breathing down your neck. Yet, if you need help or have a question they are there to assist. Thank you Charla and Bob for facilitating everything as simply and painless as you have. I am in love with my new piece of art!!! read more

Living in Santa Fe you can't walk two feet without bumping into another ho-hum art gallery. As an artist myself I am very very picky about what galleries I really like and patronize. By far the POP gallery is my favorite. The work in the gallery is whimsical, original, and amazingly executed. I appreciate that the owners support local artist as well. I immediately recognized the work of Robb Rael who is a Santa Fe institution when it comes to pop style and originality. In a sea of "more of the same" art galleries in Santa Fe this one is a gem. read more

My boyfriend saw a painting in the window of this place while we were on vacation so we stopped in. It's just a cool little gallery that has a bunch of awesome art. Everyone working there was nice, and the women who ran the place was super informative and totally into her job. If you want to spend just a bit - they have unique prints that are in the $50 range. And if you want to throw down some serious money, you can do that too and go home with some kickass work. read more

I bought a print here and it took a week for the owner to get an artist to sign the piece, after waiting in the cold snow for two hours and him never showing up to our appointment, I left a message saying forget about it, I was heading home and no longer wanted the piece. The owner called me and threatened to kill me saying he knew my address and was going to travel to my house and hunt me down. After being a psycho and me hanging up and threatening to call the police, he called me back and notified me that he was refunding my money. He then told me that he was "such a nice guy" that he had the artist sign the piece "especially" for me and was going to send it to me free of charge. I told him I wanted nothing to do with him however a couple days later the piece showed up on my doorstep further making me nervous about his threats. I looked at the piece and sure enough he had the artist write a note on the back of the backing however taking that backing off, there was the same note written to SOMEONE ELSE! Some advice, when you threaten to kill someone over a crappy print, don't use recycled crap notes when claiming you're doing something nice for the person you threatened. read more
