Yeah, I am a fan. We were recommended to go here and thought "why not?". At first glance we did not figure out the fuss, but after having tasted the one nice dish after the other, some wine and beer, we were very pleased with the recommendation. It was a bit tight and crowded, but it worked pretty well even so. Personal favourites: - Try the beef salad at the Viet Nam unit. (Not sure about the name). Their beef salad beats every beef salad I have ever tried. Fresh ingredients and the sauce was just perfection. I could taste the fish sause, the coriander, the lime..everything was just well put together and well balanced. - Yumitub for some nice ice cream! Just choose what ingredients you want and get a nice treat! I like the concept as well and it is a good thing that start-ups have a chance to establish themselves as well. I will go back next time in London!

I'd like to go back on a regular day when it isn't so crowded. Yesterday, being a special event, the crowds were huge and the vendors were overworked and lines were long. Whatever food I did get to taste, was good. But I'd like to go back when the people are less harried and more relaxed. We did try sausage burgers from World of Wurst, Goat Curry and Jollof rice from Zoe's Ghana Kitchen, dumplings from Koi and pachos from Baba G's. However, given the crowds, forget the free food, most vendors had run out of all their top selling items by 7:30-8:00. Which is why I'd definitely like to go back on a nice sunny afternoon. After 16 months of living in London, I finally arrived at Brixton, so I do have to thank the event for that

Brixton's latest addition and a hipster favourite, this venue is boxpark 2.0 now updated with more reclaimed wood, twinkly lights and actual complex architecture. Simply stacking containers is so 2014 after all. Cynicism aside, the new maze like south London venue is a small food and drinks haven, as the shops have become smaller in size to allow for a greater selection of items on offer. Japanese, Vietnamese and other Asian cuisines can be found next to tacos and German sausages and an array of craft beers you would not find in your local pub (unless your local pub is on Germany). Once you have selected what you want to have you can head to one of the yards, there's a coupe of open spaces and one conservatory type structure at the top where the seats are made of cheap wooden planks. Despite the fact that it was rainy when I visited, the place still had a lot of customers, who were not scared away by the weather. I do think though that on a warm day it will be packed so a rainy day that is not particularly cold may be your best bet when you want to visit. Also make sure to take lots of photos as this place is perfect for selfies.

Went on a Saturday night with some friends, and we had a good time. The variety of stalls available was good, ranging pizza and hot dogs to Vietnamese and Ghanan food. I had German hot dogs, Japanese kyoza and smores for dessert, and left feeling happy and full. Venue is cool and hip, though it wasn't as spacious or proper as I had imagined it to be. There is very limited seating space, so be sure to get there early or have a strategy to getting a table. Afterwards, we hopped over to Brixton Village for drinks, all of which were in good proximity, so was very convenient. Could be a good evening out if you plan appropriately.

Big fan of this set up for a couple of reasons. One: it looks great. The guys who did the design and build have nailed it. It's not a huge space that can cater for masses but it has the ability to still feel full even with 10 people there. Lots of places to sit upstairs and eat and lots of plant boxes etc to perch on when enjoying so food/drink/music. There is options of cover when it is raining but most of it is inside. Two: The selection of food is excellent. There's savoury crepes, pizza, ramen/gyoza, tacos, grilled meat, jerk, cup cakes/macarons, coffee/juice and vietnamese. There are three tiny restaurants on offer to- tapas brought to you by Donostia, Hook fish and chips and Kricket Indian foods. I have probably missed some of the traders and I will assume there is probably a burger somewhere in that mix! Three: Great music! Usually African. Love. Four: There is stuff going on that isn't just 'consumable' fun such as quirky clothes shops, gift shops, arty things etc. There are also various events particularly focused on the community so keep an eye on their website/follow them on social media. Five: There is caffeine here and it is decent. AND last but certainly not least: The booze!! So, as you may expect at a pop up such as this, you can find a large array of craft beer producers such as brixton, beaver town etc etc you know the deal. There is also a large selection on gins on offer. They are a little on the ex-y side but it's nice to have choice. My favourite booze here is the New Zealand wine shop. They often have tastings on and you can get a great bottle of wine to share for a good price. Their selection is great. They are also worth a twitter follow to keep up dated with what's on. And now... Pop Brixton is expanding. Literally watch this space...

I fell in love with Pop Brixton when I came to the Secret Brixton event with Yelp, however I did return recently and without the buzz of lots of people around and with some of the eateries closed, on my second visit, I wasn't overly impressed. It is definitely one of those places that your experience will change depending on what the weather is like! It is mostly outdoors bar a small indoors seating area upstairs that gets filled up pretty quickly. They also have heaters outside but to be honest even if they're on you can't feel them. If you compare it to somewhere like Street Feast then there's no comparison really, that place is good rain or shine. However, there are some great eateries/businesses here. Brixton Brewery being a favourite, I hadn't heard of them before my first visit to Pop Brixton and I'm definitely a fan of theirs now. Also I purposely came to visit Pop Brixton once just to go to Kricket who get a big tick from me too. Made of Dough is amazing, so is the taco place....but I showed my partner these places and did a tour around which only seemed to take a few minutes and he was just like 'oh, is that it then!? Isn't there any other places?' To be fair, as I mentioned before, some were closed but still it just didn't have that buzzy vibe where I wanted to stay all night and explore all of the different options. It was also cold and raining heavily so we left after about an hour and a half. Great to come here in the sunshine and also good to pop in for an hour or so if you really want to try one of the star eateries, otherwise I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here for a whole evening/day sadly. Good and thumbs up but not brilliant - I'm doing a jump up and down happy dance.

Very nice hang out place, a lot of seatings but not much choices of shops. Or rather some are closed. We drove almost 2 hours just to get here (from west london) just to try the Thai Ice Cream... It was a Sunday afternoon and the vibe was just like an easy lazy Sunday... The place had beanbags under the stairs for cozy seating... The place needs a bit more lighting though... We saw that there's a place that has live music. They also have a cool looking barbershop over there. Very Cool & Hip!

Need a tasty, warm ramen to melt your heart? Then this little pop up store is the place to go. The broth is soo yummy and you can add as many extra on to your ramen as you can handle. I recommend the egg, you only need half, full one seems too much for me, however if you love your eggs, these are cooked perfectly! The Pork Tonkotsu is their star seller and it's for a very good reason. You might not get a seat at the bar on a busy night. But there are other seating areas around so move along and enjoy the surroundings. I think compared to Shoryu , the dish is a little on the small side, but after slurping the soup, yes you should do that! I was surprisingly full so maybe my eyes are bigger than my stomach... Need to return to Pop Brixton to try out other venues!

This place is super cool. Ample seating all over the place, a plethora of different eating options, and a little garden area that's refreshing even on a rainy day (most days ;) ) I'm impressed with how well they put together everything and how it seems like you keep finding new little places despite the space not being huge. A cool place to hang out to drink, or eat, or sit and talk...and conveniently right by the station.

Excellent place to spend an evening! Great selection of bars and food venders make this a perfect place to go with a group of friends, especially if you can never agree on anything. Seating is slightly limited so I would suggest not going too late Friday/Saturday evening unless you want to stand. The price are more reasonable than some of the other street food markets around and the staff are super friendly! It's fast becoming one of my favourite places in Brixton.

    Vietnamese octopus bruschetta
    Ada C.

Fun cool space made with old shipping containers. It's all new and you can still smell the odour of wood from the particleboard furniture upstairs. Food is decent enough and cheap. Nothing will blow your mind away but it does the trick. Koi Ramen is tasty although slightly unwieldy to eat if you can't find a decent place to sit (this is a two handed endeavour). Wurst has tasty sausages and I loved the typically undersized German buns. Viet Box has flavoursome food. Their Vietnamese octopus bruschetta is delicious but there was way too much sauce. I would have preferred it lightly dressed as there was a good half cup of dressing swimming at the bottom of the container which my friend drank!

For any one of my friends traveling into London I always recommend veering off a little to Carnaby. Over the years some shops have come and go but some of my favorites remain open. I'm a huge Great Frog lover and their shop is nearby, also for us rock n rollers I can't help stopping into The Rolling Stones Uk store. Lots of major branded stores but also cute local vendors and stores. It's a very walkable street and safe. Plenty busy so come earlier in the day to beat the crowds. Another pro tip is catching a reservation at dishshoom down here as I've found it easier to snag a reservation here than at their other locations. Plenty of dining options though and local stalls like Starbucks and Joe & the juice. This was our first food hall experience out here in London, so I really didn't know what to expect. Arcade's dining system is definitely something we weren't really accustomed to, but honestly it worked out pretty well despite its first impression as being chaotic. Being able to see every vendor's menu from your phone was very convenient instead of having to walk around, but walking around wouldn't be a practical option anyway as the whole place is pretty small and densely packed. Anyway, we ordered shawarma fries and Nepali chili dumplings. The fries were honestly really good, though the portions were pretty small. The dumplings were hefty and also good too, but not great in terms of value. Not sure how "authentic" Tipan Tapan is when it comes to Nepali food, but hey, at least I can say I've had Nepali food before at least once. Speaking of good/bad, the selection here is pretty underwhelming. My wife and I weren't exactly impressed by all the offerings the vendors had to offer which is ironic considering how many vendors there are. Service is really fast though.
