Had a lovely evening spin around the lake. A fun way to spend the evening with family, and see a beautiful sunset.

Our cruise with Sunshine Charters was a highlight during a late summer trip up north…read more We booked a late morning cruise, and boarded the yacht with the friendliest crew before heading to Lake Charlevoix. They unfurled the sailed and we enjoyed the sunny and breezy day before heading over to Lake Michigan, passing under the drawbridge as we went. Lake Michigan was choppy, but I never felt uncomfortable being out on the sailing yacht throughout. Bathrooms were clean, cold (non-alcoholic) drinks were a-plenty, and there was even a fun space for kiddo to make a fort with the cushions to stay amused. Would highly recommend booking a trip if you get the chance!

We took part in the 11:30-1:30 sail on a beautiful Sunday. Captain Blair and mates Chase and Judy…read morewere lovely. There were about 25 folks on the boat and everyone had plenty of room. The sail is exactly as explained in the description. We went around Round Lake, then out to Lake Charlevoix, then under the drawbridge and out to Lake Michigan for about 15 minutes. They played good music and offered water and soda. It was a very enjoyable experience. My only suggestion would be for the crew to give more information about Charlevoix and the lakes. We like to learn about the area we are visiting! And it's okay to suggest tipping. I noticed most folks did not, which is a shame.

The Pointer Boat, has quite a history that matches the community in which it is set: Harbor Point…read moreand Harbor Springs. The boat was originally commissioned to carry supplies, teachers, musicians and more from the main part of Harbor Springs out to the residence of Harbor point which it did until the mid 60s. The residents of Harbor Point couldn't do this themselves because it's an exclusive community. You get the gist -money and privilege. The boat ride was a little over an hour long and took us up and down the coast line with a great narration at least the parts we heard. There were 12 people on the boat which is the capacity plus the captain and first mate. Captain and first mate are great individuals but neither one of them could clearly articulate what they were trying to share on top of the wind and engine noise. At the end of the trip, we suggested they use a microphone. They said oh yeah that's a great idea we will have to consider that. Now really this boat has been in service doing this over decades and no one else has mentioned this?! I would venture to guess they are not allowed by the residents. The boat is docked behind Stafford's pier restaurant. When the restaurant is open, a drink can be purchased from their bar to enjoy while on the boat tour. Unfortunately for us, the restaurant was not open due to the lack of people to staff it. So sad! I would not say this is in any way a luxury tour. You are sitting on hardwood benches. And you need to be somewhat agile as you are stepping down four stairs that are steep from the dock to the bottom of the boat. The boat tour Is intended to provide an overview of the city and its history. I would have given it four stars if we had been able to hear the narration.

You wonder onto Groupon in a last ditch effort to salvage the day and that is just what my friend did, so seeing as Nauti-Cat was an option for the time we'd hoped for and the amount of people we had was like this has to be it. And it was! We got there a bit early because we wanted to ensure we didn't screw this up again and the process to get registered and ready was simple. After 5 minutes to get us all set, we walked over to the hotel next door just to take a peek around and it was lovely - the back deck off the water was gorgeous. The restaurant looked dreamy. Then we boarded the boat and left all the day's stresses behind. The tunes came on, the water was magical, the crew was nice and funny and let us just do our thing. They had a shotski and lots of vacation energy. I would definitely go again and would recommend anyone else in the area looking for a majestic, peaceful and relaxing boat outing to check it out!

Each person gets a drink ticket, and they give you cute metal souvenir cups with each purchase. The boat is a good size for the amount of people, as there are plenty of seats for everyone and you get a good view wherever you are at. It can get a bit chilly on the water so make sure you bring a jacket if its chill out. The staff was friendly and even made a cocktail for us that was not officially on the menu. The view on the lake is beautiful, and this is a great couples boat ride, or even to do with family.
