We got super lucky to get an amazing seat. But aside from the views, the food was also AMAZING. Definitely THE BEST MEAL I had between Lisbon and Porto, even though I also did a two Michelin star rated restaurant. Ponto Final was just better. Reservation is 100% recommended if you want a good seat, and the prices are also reasonable. I immediately recommended other people to go right after I left because this spot was amazing. I loved my mackerel with tomato soup thing and rice. It was so good. But we ordered so much food I couldn't even finish it.

Ok, this restaurant is more about location, location, location... than anything else. You can drive over, but parking will be a nightmare and can be a trek downstairs (see picture), so best to just grab the ferry from Lisbon. Then it is a short walk along the water. Reservation would be highly recommended because you want to sit outside. There is one guy that controls all the seating, so be nice and you may get a table in 30 minutes to an hour. Food is great but somewhat pricey for local Portuguese food. Again, this place is all about hanging on the waters edge, sipping on drink and enjoy the beautiful view of Lisboa across the water with someone you appreciate. Cheers!!!!

We were a big group so we made sure to make the reservation a few months before to make sure we can get in. Place was amazing! Great view & even better food! All the seafood we had was very fresh & tasty. We stayed their all afternoon eating and enjoying. We got to see the sunset there and it was beautiful as well. They also offer little blankets for when it starts getting cold. We can't wait to be back in Portugal to go have more delicious food.

Visiting in the off season seems to have its perks because we didn't need a reservation, although we did arrive as soon as they opened and it soon got busy inside. It's a quaint spot, full of history and we were welcomed with open arms. Being English speakers, that wasn't a problem as the staff seems to be multilingual. Cod fritter- was fresh, lightly fried and not overly salty. Love that it was full of cod, onions, and garlic. Ponto Final soup- very delicious and favorable veggie and bean soup. It's a nice serving so if you are getting more food you can share. The Seafood rice was boiling hot, tomato-y and flavorful and as it cooled down it got even better upon eating. The fish was beyond fresh, seasoned perfectly and they provided what seemed to be olive oil which took the dish up 10 notches. Portuguese olive oil is top tier and Pinto Final will be on my list and recommendations moving forward. What's really cool about this place- there's indoor and outdoor seating with a gorgeous view of Lisbon and a waterfront view.

Not to sound like a foodie nerd, but one of the reasons I wanted to visit Portugal was to be able to eat at this restaurant. I watched an episode of feeding Phil which featured this restaurant and I was instantly captivated by the fact that it was located near a bridge that looked like golden gate. As a Bay Area local, I HAD to. I'm so glad I went because it did not disappoint at all. I wish I went with people so I could have tried more food! Be warned though, I went at the beginning of December and I was FREEZING. But the staff was so generous and offered me a blanket. It really added to the vibe. What I got: -bread - which was standard -oysters - nice, fresh and delicious -shrimp - this was sooooooo good. It was perfectly seasoned & not too greasy! I'll be dreaming about these shrimps forever.

Yes, it's true... this place is worth the experience! However, keep in mind that reservations are recommended - we booked a reservation via email 3 months ahead for a party of 7. Getting there: by ferry + 15 min. walk to the restaurant. So, Google gives you an option to take an alternate route for walking - know that it has uphills and goes through neighborhoods. We thought we wanted to "get to know the island" but we ended up regretting the HR increase with the uphills. Just take the route along the ocean, it's flat. If you keep walking past the restaurant, there's a park where people hang out to enjoy the scenery of the bridge (great place for pictures too!) Service: everyone is so nice, our server made food recommendations that were 100% enjoyable. Food: the seafood is a must! We enjoyed the oysters, octopus salad, grilled sea bass, tempura green beans, tomato rice, oh so many delicious options and all were full of flavor ... go with an empty stomach, you wont regret it.

Such a special place, totally recommend this experience! The fact you're literally eating on the water as the waves are crashing around you, so cool. I would recommend a reservation but if you don't, get there about an hour and half before opening to join the queue and you should be able to get in! (They have wine you can buy around the corner while you wait ;)) Take your time here and enjoy! At night it feels so magical with the light and the bridge in the distance. This was my favorite restaurant we went to while in Lisbon (scenery wise) . The food was good too!! I went with the vegetarian dish, which was crazy big portion, I would recommend sharing! Warming though... the journey to the restaurant is brutal if you're not used to stairs lol well worth it though!

The best dining experience we had in Lisbon, by far! I highly recommend getting a reservation otherwise you will wait for at least an hour and won't be able to have first pick of where you sit. We were lucky enough to be at the front of the reservation line and were seated at the same table that Phil sat on his show! Beware that you do get splashed when the larger boats go by. We took the water taxi from Lisbon to the closest stop, which was actually a 10-15 minute walk to the restaurant. Not bad! The atmosphere is incredible! Sunset views on the water can't be beat. The seafood is some of the freshest and most flavorful we had on the trip. Can't recommend enough!

Review for Ponto Final - The TikTok Viral Restaurant An unfortunate and frustrating experience from start to finish. We arrived at 7:40 PM and weren't seated until 9 PM--nearly 2.5 hours later. Since they don't take reservations after 7 PM, it's first come, first served. What they don't mention is that you'll need to wait about an hour just to get your name on the list... and then queue again to grab drinks while you wait to be seated. That line took another hour, and we were left standing outside in freezing winds, sharing bread and olives on a stone ledge by the water as the sun set and the cold set in. After all that waiting, our name was skipped entirely on the waitlist. We watched multiple groups who arrived well after us get seated ahead. When I pointed this out to the gray-haired host (whom everyone seems to rave about), he gave a half-hearted apology and finally seated us--almost three hours after we arrived. Because we had been out in the cold for so long, we asked to be seated inside. Once inside, we sat for 20 minutes without any acknowledgment. No waiter approached us for drink orders, nothing. It was our last night in Portugal, and we felt invisible. When we finally placed our order, I opened the menu only to find it covered in black mold. I lost my appetite. I flagged it to our waiter, who didn't seem to care. Meanwhile, every table around us was getting great service and attention. We felt completely disregarded. We were seated at 9 PM. Our food didn't arrive until 10:40 PM--20 minutes before closing. Even then, it came in parts. My partners veal arrived much earlier than expected, and my grilled sardines were delayed another 15-20 minutes after that. I had to flag down a different server--not even ours--to check on our food. Our assigned waiter never once came to check in. As a waitress from New York, I understand the chaos of busy nights--but this was unacceptable. We rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was so disappointing it felt like a joke. We paid the same as everyone else, yet were treated as if we didn't matter. When we brought our concerns to the host at the end of the night, he brushed it off with, "Well, we have good reviews." That's not the point. You took our time and money, and our experience didn't reflect your supposed standards. The arrogance was disheartening. They comped dessert but still charged for water--what a joke. He blamed how busy the restaurant was, but every other table was properly taken care of. It almost felt personal. The food was good, but the treatment was honestly heartbreaking. Sadly, we won't be coming back.

Yes, this place famously appeared on "Somebody Feed Phil" the Netflix show and yes... you really can sit on a tiny little jetty with about six inches between you and the water of the Tagus River. That being said, it's a must stop. When I went it was FREEZING but we wanted the whole experience so, we sat outside instead of in the warm, cosy intimate interior... I don't regret the decision.. even if I did freeze my *cough* patootie off.. we only tried one dish - The Monkfish Stew and it was amazing...

We had a 1230 reservation for this restaurant and found that it is indeed a very popular restaurant. There was a line formed for reservations as well as a line going up the stairs for those without reservations. They asked that you get there 15 minutes early and we did. By the time they started seating, they were already able to fill up the restaurant. The view is spectacular as you would expect and it was pretty cold on what was a warm day, of course, due to the breeze of the water. Looking around I saw that some tables had the same blankets so it seemed as though you could maybe ask them for a blanket. My husband ordered dogfish soup and we had no idea what to expect. However, after eating our whole meal that was easily the best thing we ate there I ordered the rib plate and though it was good, it felt like it was missing something. It would've been spectacular with some sort of glaze or sauce. We felt the same about the cod fritters, and asked for some sort of dip. Our server brought out a garlic aioli I think, which wasn't bad. All in all it was a good meal & everything we thought it would be!

Definitely worth the view and the food! Small locale with inside and outside seating. Took an Uber from the city to here, the Uber can't drop you off directly in front as you have to walk a little and it's a little sketch of a walk. I suggest buddy system.. Was rainy when we went when they opened and I think that helped with less people interested in visiting. However a line still formed outside in while it was lightly raining. I suggest making reservations months in advance but they do allow some walk ins - you just have to get there early early. We were able to walk-in after coming a bit before opening - but again the rain might've been a helpful factor. The grilled sea bass was amazing ! Best sea bass or fish in general that I've had in Portugal and. I left no crumbs on my plate!!! Pair it with a nice wine and it's a done deal! Found them on tik tok and they went viral so it's hard to get seats.

Great food and fantastic views at Ponto Final. This small restaurant located on the river was popularized by being featured on Netflix and for me it lived up to the hype. We reached out to the restaurant by email to make a dinner reservation a couple of weeks in advance. When we visited in November, they were only open from 12:30pm to 4pm and then 7pm on for dinner so we opted for a 7pm dinner. To get the full experience, we took the ferry to Cacilhas and then walked along the riverwalk to the restaurant. It had just opened when we arrived so luckily we got a table right at the edge of the water. We ordered the spicy shrimp to start and then got the monkfish stew (serves 2) to share for our entree. Luckily the restaurant also offered hot water as it was quite cold. The shrimp came out quickly and were really tender, buttery and the perfect starter. They weren't spicy at all for my palate but the flavor was still good. The star was really the monkfish stew which came in a large caldron and was filled with chunks of fish in perfectly booked rice. The stew was really flavorful and comforting on a cold night. We couldn't finish it between the 2 of us so it's definitely enough to share with even 4 people if you wanted to try another entree alongside it. Nothing could beat the views though - we loved looking out to the city and 25 de Abril bridge during our meal. It was cold throughout in November but the waiter was nice enough to bring out blankets and provide additional candles when it got dark.

Table seating was by the front and along one wall with the rest at the bar that dominated the middle of the restaurant. Menu was almost the same with a great selection of seafood ranging from tacos, ceviche appetizers to pasta, fish and shellfish entrees with many Asian flavors. The Peruvian ceviche was very nice with thin slices of fish, radish and red onions. The corn nuts added a nice crunch. It also came with a small bowl of toasted crostini chips. The cuttlefish tacos were delicious.. Big chunks of cuttlefish topped with tomatoes and placed on a small tortilla with a white sauce. We actually ordered just one but comped a pair. Sea bass was the best with its crunchy pan fried skin side topped with nori and the moist fish went perfectly with the barley and miso sauce combination. Even the bok choy was cooked well. The squid ink pasta had a mild sauce but scallops were nicely seared. At the end the owner offered us a shot of ginja to try for our first time. It was sweet but at least lower in alcohol,16%. Our server was so fun and had great recommendations. For the small plates, we shared the tuna, scallop, burrata shrimp, mixed ceviche! We were told the mixed ceviche was the most popular. It was one of the most unique and favorite dishes and had sweet potato in it (such a great twist!). All the dishes were great but I also really enjoyed the combination of flavors and textures in the shrimp burrata and tuna dish. For big plates, we had the octopus and the golden rice. One of the most interesting meals I have had the pleasure of having in Lisboa (or maybe anywhere in…read morethe world). When you find Estrela Da Bica, it is on a side street right off of the steep street with the trolley that is famous. There was a small open door with a sign asking us to wait outside to be seated (so as not to crowd the restaurant). Make sure to follow these instructions, as my family and I watched some other unaware tourists walk straight in, grab a menu, and promptly get asked to go wait outside. After a minute or two, we were seated by one of the staff (possibly the owner?). The staff was all women, and they seemed very proud of their restaurant. The decor was quirky and very homey, with various mismatched tables and chairs. We were informed that the food is all meant to be shareable plates, and we started off by just getting some sourdough bread with dips. There were multiple different kinds of bread and the dips kept them interesting, one being a fish spread. One of the appetizers caught my eye instantly, the roasted pork belly, banana mash, and pico de gallo. I usually like banana flavors mixed with savory (I've tried weird combinations like a peanut butter banana hamburger before) so I knew I had to try this. The outside of the pork belly was perfectly crunchy while the inside was tender. As I expected (but I would guess most people wouldn't), the banana mash complimented the rich savory flavors of the pork belly. For the mains, we ordered the pink marlin tataki with pineapple chutney, potato and rosemary sourdough pizzeta, roasted Hokkaido with butternut mash, dried nuts sand, and house kimchi, the confit codfish cheeks with poached egg and crispy chips, and the pork cheek ravioli with mustard sauce and buckwheat popcorn. They were all intriguing flavor combinations that I would never have thought of in my life!! What stood out to me was the confit codfish cheeks with poached egg and the crispy potato chips. We had tried other codfish dishes around Lisboa and had noticed that it was the most common fish there. But this combination was luscious, with the soft egg coating the fish and the chips adding a nice crunch to every bite. It was like a fish carbonara in a way with the poached egg providing a sauce. This was the standout dish to me, representing what Lisboa is all about while not being afraid to take risks. All of the other dishes were interesting too, and each left me with new ideas of combinations that I would have never thought of. After the dinner was so impressive, we were enticed by the dessert. We got the chocolate mousse and basque cheesecake with guava jam. These were Like I said, the staff seemed proud of their establishment and rightfully so. Estrella da Bica may be a small, simple, establishment, but they are not afraid to push the boundaries of gastronomy.
