Impressive looking hotel in great location overlooking Polurrian Cove on the Lizard. Owned (since Mar '08) by the same family that runs the 4 star Treglos Hotel at Constantine Bay near Padstow, this is a friendly and informal hotel. It would seem that the Barlow family are still investing money in the Polurrain - perhaps to gain that extra star. At the time we were there, they were carrying out work improving the leisure suite - the hotel has indoor and outdoor pools as well as a pool table, jacuzzi, beauty treatment rooms etc.
The food is plentiful and of a good standard (important) and is served in an attractive restaurant overlooking Mounts Bay. The adjacent bar has comfortable soft furnished sofas and armchairs or if you wish you can watch the sun go down over the horizon. The rooms are well appointed and well furnished and staff friendly and helpful.
The coastal path runs close by and Polurrian Cove is about 10 minutes walk away. The cove has an excellent sandy beach and as the nearest public parking is some distance away it doesn't get too over crowded. It is, however, a fair climb back up to the hotel from the beach at the end of the day. read more
