I had an upcoming trip to Nashville and decided to give it a try since I had never done it before. On the Sunday before my trip, I left a voicemail at the Gahanna location with my name, number, the requested date (Thursday), and asked for a call back to schedule a mobile tanning appointment. By late Monday afternoon, I hadn't heard anything, so I followed up with my friend. She let me know that appointments should be booked online instead. I booked immediately and was able to get a 10:30 AM time slot for Thursday. I received both an email and a text confirmation right after booking. My friend also mentioned that Jasmine usually contacts you in advance to confirm your location for mobile services. By Tuesday afternoon, I still hadn't heard anything. My friend texted Jasmine directly to let her know I had booked a mobile appointment and was concerned she didn't have my address. Jasmine responded that she would look into it and followed up, saying she'd check and confirm with me, but I never received any direct message from her. By Wednesday evening, I still hadn't received any direct communication from Jasmine, only another round of automated appointment reminders. Then on Thursday at 8:57 AM, less than two and a half hours before the scheduled appointment, Jasmine finally texted me. She explained that the system had not correctly processed the booking as a mobile tan and had instead scheduled it in the salon. She mentioned she was fully booked that morning but could come for a mobile tan the following day. I replied that I was leaving for Nashville in the morning, so that wasn't an option. She then offered an in-salon appointment for later that day, but I had made arrangements specifically for mobile service and couldn't make it into the salon. Moments later, I received an automated notice that the appointment had been canceled. If you're looking for mobile tanning, this experience would make me hesitant to recommend this service. Communication was inconsistent, and the appointment was effectively canceled at the last minute. For a client relying on a scheduled service before a trip, this is unacceptable. A professional business should have better systems in place to confirm appointments and communicate with clients, and at the very least, offer a form of compensation when plans fall through due to their error.
